  1. i'm just looking for a few design ideas. i'm fairly sure i can build it. i'll probably raise the track above the original grade to about 6"to 8" and slope it a bit so most of the water runs off it. yamahaman is right though, if you can generate fill onsite, the job will be done alot quiker and cheaper.
  2. rury, good deal  . i wish i had seen this one when it was posted.
  3. can you send a pic of the pipes to [email protected] thanks!
  4. Yo pete wheres those bike pics!
  5. let me know how you make out. if you need any other parts just PM me. i still have a few kickin around here.
  6. hows the rebuild going? get her runn'in yet.
  7. i'd also clean the jets in your carbs. gas does not take long to break down when its being stored. the gas turns to a varnish and coats the inside of your jets reducing thier flow. this may burn you down if the are clogged badly. i've seen this happen quite a few times.
  8. your float needle could be worn out. they get a groove worn around them after a while from all the bouncing around and then they don't seal any more. check it out.
  9. i'm taking the excavator home next weekend(komatsu 220). got some major landscaping to do. i also have five acres behind the house i'm not using right now and i'm thinking about making a track. anyone here ever build one? i'm looking for some design suggestions or pointers.the land is quite flat so it's going to be fairly basic, but i'd like to build a few whoops/jumps and maybe a table top. where can i view other track designs? any suggestions would be appreciated.
  10. you may want to state your location when you are trying to sell something. someone might want to hop in the truck to come take a look at it if its close. it could make the difference between a sale and no sale.
  11. hi corey, pro cycle in the burnside business park should be able to get everything you need. if you need a certain main jet in a hurry, let me know. i have just about every size from 200 to 480 in mikuni mains.
  12. can you give us an explaination on the manufacturing process involved in making these custom pistons.i for one would be really interested in hearing how you make them! are you the same guy that was asking about forged pistons versus stock ones? you thought "forged" meant they were knock-offs?
  13. what a bomb 250R!!! one of the best i,ve seen. somebody buy that thing!
  14. i got a set of TM-34s and the throttle springs are murder on the thumb! watch the prejetted carbs! i bought a set and they were ten sizes off on the main jets. i couldn't belive they were this far off so i wasted alot of time looking for other problems associated with a bad top end bog!
  15. shit man , you pretty much spilled your gutz .nothing like good heartfelt drunken journalism. yep banshees are great. i always got something to tinker with and always have an excuse to buy new parts. theres nothing like hauling ass down a fireroad wideopen, hoping to hell you're going to make the next corner. with all the upgrades and performance parts available for these machines, i don't understand people that think they are old technology. to each thier own.
  16. Hey man, if your banshee doesnt scare you, its too damn slow!!!!!!
  17. it doesn't really make much of a difference on a case reed type set-up. two strokes with higher manifold pressures like rotary valve engines (eg Rotax 670 or 583) react to air jet changes alot more. it is basically just there to aid in atomizion when used with a case-reed engine like a banshee's. in most case reed snowmobile engines they don't run any jet in the air passage at all. any change in engine performance by switching airjets would probably be very small. changing or adjusting your needle would have more of an effect.
  18. hmmm, i always thought the cylinders were cast aluminum and the sleeves were steel. a cast iron cylinder would make for one heavy f*@$ing cylinder! then again, isn't there some kind of chemical reaction or oxidation that takes place between steel and aluminum?
  19. the more octane booster you add the hotter your machine will run. get some race fuel, they make it for a reason.
  20. going 68 mil in stock jugs is about as far as i'd want to go on bore size. the head studs touch the cylinder liner. they have never pulled out on me but it's always a concern.the stock transfers are also very restrictive. i'll probably go with a cub set-up as soon as these grenade on me.but i've been saying that for over a year now . these make good power . with a 4mil crank, a dune port and a set of CPIs, you should see atleast 75hp if you go this route. i got these for $350 with the pistons. if you have to get your stockers resleeved and ported its cheaper to just buy a set of cubs.
  21. is that an imp/stock or prostock 600 drag sled you have? the speed seems a bit "optimistic" for a trail sled.
  22. i'm guilty of saying "the shee" a couple of times now but its not gay cause i'm ignorant, extremely insensitive and i hate show tunes. it's also been refered to as "the death trap" and the " the race fuel guzzling money pit". but yeah, as a rule, i don't regularly refer to it as "the shee".
  23. if someone was going to just throw money away why wouldn't they just burn it instead of wasting time building something like that? who the hell would even buy it?
  24. the five hrs shouldn't have hurt it. sounds like it might have been mixed lean? if it was alot colder where they were riding or alot of change in elevation, the jetting cold have been off. i'd never lend my banshee to anyone!!!
