yeah i know it doesn't seem right. flatslides pull alot more fuel though the main circuit than a compareable VM carb. this is because of the short distance air has to travel across the flat slide compared to the thicker round slide. this produces alot more "draw". if you try and run 370 mains in your TM 34s you'll pull your hair out trying to figure out why you can't get rid of that mid range to top end bog.

they go in 5's and in 2.5's. 45, 40,37.5,35,32.5,30,27.5............

370s in a mikuni flatslide will be fat with that set-up. i got +4 stroke, 68mm bore, dune port, 18cc domes , +5 timing,t-5s and 34mm TM mikunis w/ pod filters. i'm running 280 mains and its still on the rich side. thats at sea level. flatslides suck alot more fuel than a roundslide.

becauseof the flat slide design a TM mikuni carb will pull way more fuel through a 290 jet than a round slide VM mikuni of the same size will. trust me on this. i fucked with my TM 34s for quite a while before i realized this.the guys that sold me the "pre-jetted" carbs put 370s in them.idiots! they should have known better. my mods are very similar if not the same as yours. i'm running 280 mains at sea level and i'm still at least a size rich. i started you off safe at 290. at 1500 ft, you'll still have to jet down.(IMO). give the 300s a try if you want. hope this helps!

i ride alot of gravel roads and hit a the odd patch of mud and water. i'd really like to have full, uncut fenders. if i rode sand only i wouldn't bother with full plastics.

if you are running 34mm flatslide mikunis you are way too rich. try 290 mains to be safe and jet down from there. your pilots are way rich as well. if they are round slides(vm) your jetting is probably close. what do you run for pipes?

yep it still gives the turbo four strokes a run for thier money. turns on a dime too! i've come off it a few times and hit the water real hard.

whats the difference in sizes from 35mm to 40mm? features and benefits? i have a fast trail machine but am very new to drag racing. can someone school me on this? sorry for thread jacking but it seems to go with the subject.

a dozer would be ideal if the terrain was alot dryer.there are some real swampy areas where the track is going! i know i'd get a dozer mired back there.the track hoe has low ground pressure tracks on it which are alot wider than standard and provide good floatation in soft ground. and as much as i hate to admit,i'm not a real good dozer operator. if you have to backdrag in a dozer to get a flat surface, your just wasting time and money. i'll provide a trackhoe -vs- tree vid tomorrow !

yep, you need em. your jugs will leak without the plugs!

heres a few pics of my bike . 22 x 11 x 9 s on the back and 20 x 6 x 10 on front. good clearance in the rear but i may drop back to 20s when i get some new rears.

thanks for the pics. got some good ideas from them. as you can see i,ve got my work cut out for me. the track is being built on the land in the second picture behind the first treeline.may have bit off a little more than i can handle.
