  1. Just because you don't know how to run alky doesn't mean it's not worth it. I've helped set up a few motors on it and it was fucking well worth the work. It does damn well on the long pulls and the fact that many outlaw dirt trackers run it is a testament to that. After playing with oxygenated fuels in my bike I think it may get alky for my warm weather riding. I admit it's not for everyone, but once you really get in touch with how to "feel" what a motor is doing and compare it to your plug and piston wash, it's not to complicated.
  2. Well, always make sure that any motor is jetted right. However, you can't jet away detonation from being under octaned. You need better fuel or different domes
  3. Move this thread.
  4. Yeah get rid of the tors. Sync tools are nice. Have you checked the float height or if they are sticking?
  5. Say, are ya' any good at tig welding?
  6. Now this is starting to get really fucked up guys....
  7. Definitely look for a set that puts a 20" tire out back for trail riding. These banshees just don't have the clearance to run 18" tires in rough trails.
  8. That amount of compression is a bit past the capability of premium pump gas. The popping is probably dedonation related and you definitely need to up the octane, especially of you are also running any amount of timing. Try some 50/50 race/pump fuel or if you aren't in to the race fuel, try some new domes 2cc's larger.
  9. You can have them ported or at least cleaned up. Just gonna take the right guy to do it with out killing the bottom end of the power curve. It should also be noted that you should have the domes set up for the blaster piston angle
  10. Do your self a favor and ditch the plate and have domes cut for the stroker. You will need to have the porting done as well. Don't bother doing it with out port work, because it won't run near its potential and you will just end up taking it apart to do it later any way
  11. I believe they are able to just bulk order the pieces. No need to strip.
  12. Just get a crate motor from ECATV. They will have a nice Mild set up that down the road you can do bolt ons to improve
  13. I think East Coast ATV is doing turn key motors on eBay.
  14. Don't bother repairing it
  15. Michigan ORV trails will kill blue labels
  16. Filter wrench, good strap wrench, steel bar with two bolts threaded through it....... Just hotta think a minute and be smart from time to time
  17. Hey JD, would you consider doing parts if I had my own film?
  18. Yeah, works style pipes always look cool to me. Honestly majority of the hand coned stuff I see is ugly due to the lack of actual craftsmanship. I think the best raw set I've ever seen was a set of out of frame pipes from FTZ.
  19. Got a pic of the condition those things are in?
  20. Just grab some 33mm or 35mm PWK's. The 35's might be a bit much for the FMF's but at least you would only be buying one set of carbs for that bike and you can always upgrade pipes to a bigger inframe set later. They will feed any and all your future mods.
