Although, You can use octane to control detonation on motors with excessive timing. For instance, a buddy of mine uses a programmer on his street bike with multiple timing curves. Most are fine for pump fuel as the motor it self is internally stock. But there is a map on there that does need race fuel to keep the motor both detonation free and cooler.
I have a WCR promod (modified stock cut) and it is fucking titties! If I ride it just right I can get away with out any throttle lift or clutching. Not all Trannys are the same. Most guys think you just cut every other dog and that's it. Mine has a whole multitude of different tricks that I didn't even notice till I had it next to a bone stock stocker. I have heard many good things about cams trans mod and my next play/race tranny will be from him. Greg at WCR does good work, but his attitude and service are just poor now.
My boss's daughter learned how to play several instruments off YouTube!
And I like to use a lot of new products in remodeling and knowing what and how to use them is YouTube knowledge. So thanks YouTube. You have made me money, and that is usefull
I think you would need to get a different cylinder, but maybe you could get yours ported. I'm not sure on that aspect of the CP cylinders. The 10 mil would be a 465. It would be a torque monster.
They are wicked domes, cut by Jim. There is just not enough material to take the abuse that the head was designed for. Spoke to a guy at wicked and he basically said that is why they are no longer make that style head/dome combo and are doing a new design. In this pic look at how deep the fins are machined. Takes most of the supporting material away from the combustion area. So get it hit and put it under the stress of compression and CRACK!
Sorry to thread jack. Just trying to make a point that just because it's cold doesn't mean your bike is gonna run cool. In all actuality, more cooling system problems occur in the winter then in the summer.
Probably the lighting. These are actually the same profile as the NOSS stuff. Only done by the fella that taught David. Nobody caught the crack in the dome till I posted it in the live section.
Going from a 421 serval to the 472 super serval wouldn't be worth the dollars. Try maybe a 10mm serval with the 68mm bore and go up almost 20 HP compared to 5-8 of the 472
RZ tranny has more spread. I was gonna try it but learned to do it with sprockets. If you are serious you could do different primary gears as well. What type of motor? What kind of riding? I used to always run out of gear on the fire/log road stuff, but swapping sprockets fixed that.
Hmm, dyna. I have been really toying with the idea of a dyna so I can give the bike a whole shit load of timing out of the turn, and retard it as the bike is moving down the straights on the half mile tracks.
Don't let the cold temps make you to comfortable. Rich can be just as bad as lean especially in the cold. The extra air helps burn that extra oil. Hence why it won't show much oil on the plug. In turn makes heat. This pic is of the head off my bike after tryin to run race gas to rich. O rings just melted.
Reeds: If you get a sweet deal on used VF2's or 3's, grab them up. But if you are going to get new ones, go with the 4's. Nothing wrong with the material they are made from. They are fine on everything from mild trail bikes to full tilt drag bikes. However carbon fiber reed petals don't really agree with Nitrous oxide.
