  1. Production?.... Or importing?
  2. Porting most certainly does have an effect on compression. Carbs aren't determined strictly by bore size. You just assume that the 34's are to big with out knowing tha actual intent of the motor. Where do your opinions come from?
  3. Negative on both accounts.... More like opinions. However you are entitled to your opinion no matter how wrong it may be.
  4. Do you have a set of power valves to go with it?
  5. Quite possibly premium..... But if the motor has port/dome work you need a bit more octane.
  6. Well that answers why you need it stealthy.
  7. That ceramic on rappy's bike looks killer! However on the 2 stroke pipes, the coatings can do funny things. Problem is some pipes respond to it and others won't like it. Just depends on the particular pipe. I have posted a few times about a conversation about this with Mat Shearer and he has verified that ceramic on his inframe is a hinderance. I would imagine that the same would go for his OOF's as well. I have been wanting to test several other pipes with that concept but have no time lately.
  8. Turn the chokes all the way in clockwise. Then put a paint pen mark on them for reference. Turn them out 7- 7 1/2 turns counter clockwise.
  9. 80+ HP on any small machine is when it begins to get really fun.
  10. I bet the coolant situation is definitely from head gasket issues. When you installed the head, did you torque the jugs down then install the head? It is best to just get the jugs finger tight on their studs and dowels. Then torque the head down in sequence. Follow that with torquing down the jugs last. It keeps the jugs from sitting at different heights and allows better sealing of the head. Also while that head is off, look to see if there are any markings that show where the blow by is occurring. Then inspect the sealing surfaces for dents or dings.
  11. You really can't possibly be that clueless......
  12. Build a leak down kit ASAP. They're cheap and all the info is in the technical section.
  13. Is this a whampus style cylinder by any chance?
  14. Rodger at Wicked Motorsports does a lot with the Athena stuff. Give him a call.
  15. Some of the pancake bearing set ups aren't as adjustable. Mine, I have to pull the outer plate off and adjust the pancake put it back in. Slap the cover on. It's a fast process now but the first couple times were guess and check.
  16. The mph may be the same, but the amount Of load the motor sees will be a tad bit different and it might get there faster if the set up compensates for it. My ice racing scenario isn't the same as the 300 ft drag, but I have adopted some of the theory. I have noticed faster lap times by gearing the bike to top out faster as opposed to still carrying gear and accelerating all the way down the straight.
  17. If done right you should be about 60-65 HP
  18. Well as always there's a few guys looking to flame Jim. Get over it and just run the pipe you prefer, but there is no way you can flame the quality of Jim's motors. I have a 12 port for ice racing and it fucking rips! It took a while to get it and it was worth it. There are several guys who have stated that they have waited 5 months to get their cheetahs back, and it should be noted one of them is a Mat Shearer build. It's time to relax. I get that it sucks waiting and I was frustrated to. But it's kind of the nature of the beast.
  19. Quick hand shine with Master Formula to get an insane shine then use their sealer. It's like red lotion. You wipe it over the surface till it looks like its been dipped in slime. Then let it haze up. Once the haze is dry, use a nice soft towel, rag, microfiber, etc. to wipe it off.
  20. A bit off topic, have you considered a 1-4 m5-6 on the flat track bike yet?
