  1. The Religious Right votes Republican every election. Vote turnout was typical, so it wasn't as though a huge influx of voters decided to go vote, that normally wouldn't. If anything, it's puzzling to me that Kerry didn't win with as much media support as he got. Michael Moore's film was huge and conveniently arrived during the election year. Stern's audience is millions, and you know who he was rooting for. Look how many free concerts were done by huge f'n names in music all to sway young voters who are typically Democrat. Stern's downfall was that Viacom and the other large media outlets didn't have the balls to take the FCC to court.
  2. I'd listened to stern since he came to Portland, OR. I thought the show was great until it became so political and anti-religion. I remember when The Passion came out, it was just mocked up and down and was very anti-Semetic. He was right in a sense, because after I watched the film I felt like kicking the shit out of Stern, who is Jewish. Then, it was the election in 2004 and his entire show consisted of not getting Bush reelected. Everything was the "American Taliban" this, "American Taliban" that. Basically, he turned into a whiney ass pussy that didn't get his way and everyone was out to get him. I believe the FCC has more than overstepped its bounds, and side with Howard on that. But, I honestly don't think you should be mocked for whatever you believe whether it's political, religious, or sexual preference. That's where he has alienated me along the way, because if the elections were today, I'd vote for Bush again over Kerry. Do I think Bush is a good president? No, but the circumstances what they are/were, I felt as though it would do far more harm to remove him. Sal and Richard were some great additions that helped offset all of Stern's whining, and I'm almost tempted to order Sirius to hear the revelations bit, but aside from that, it's no big loss to me. I'll miss the WhackPack and Artie and Fred, but that's about it.
  3. I didn't know hotrods made a crank over 4mm....
  4. get an adjustable timing plate. after that, might wanna think about getting your cylinders ported.
  5. A 4mm ported stock cylinder bike will beat 99.999% of the 4 strokes out there. I handed a 450R on NOS his ass pretty handily up a hill that tends to favor the 4 strokes too, short and steep with my old motor, and that was with stock carbs and pump gas domes.
  6. I know of several guys in the NW that have 4mm cub motors from him and they are all pleased. He'd probably be my next choice after my current builder.
  7. hmm....seems like a nice alternative. I stopped at Schucks auto supply on the way home and they had a brake bleeding kit for 7.50. The little cup has a magnet attached so you don't have to hold it.
  8. I'd definitely flush the old gas out and not run it. New plugs and a cleaning of the carbs are good ideas.
  9. was thinking about doing something along those lines....
  10. cold rain and rough sand But the worst day riding, is better than the best day at work.
  11. should be in Florence this Sunday, myself. anxious to see Todd's work from TCS on my front and rear shocks.
  12. I bought some streamline braded brake lines, and I can't bleed the damn brakes. I did like it said and left the lower lines off and pumped the shit out of the brakes, but no fluid ever comes out. The resevoir is full. I submerged the end in the brake fluid container so it could suck air when I let the brake lever out, doesn't make a difference. Are there any tricks to it?
  13. that's a Gilbert Godfried joke from the Hugh Hefner Fryer's Club roast.
  14. The longer swingarms are harder to ride wheelies on. I have a 4 over with my 421 and it's considered small, but I ride in the sand with paddles, so I hook up really well. Dunno what it would be like riding in fields and dirt roads, just depends on how good the rear tires grab. Rocketboy's got a stock stroke cub with a stock length swingarm. Might wanna PM him and ask him what he thinks about his setup.
  15. you shouldn't hold back, man. just tell us how you feel does anyone but me notice how many hot chicks are from Hailey, Idaho? weird, I think the town only has like 10 people in it, but every website hosting videos has personals from chicks in Hailey, ID. Some day I shall venture to this oasis of poon and see what's up and what they are putting in the water there.
  16. That sucks, big time. Pretty sure Cameron told me he charges $295 for the conversion and lockout. You get your choice of the colors of plexi or billet too. Does it all in his shop, so no waiting on Direct Drive. www.redline-racing.net
  17. SOLD - samunoway
  18. nothing to see here.....
  19. How much toe-in? I just installed some Roll Design +2 Arms, and wanna know how much toe-in to set, and how to go about doing it accurately?
  20. porting will give you the best bang for your buck. you're probably looking at $500 to $600 though when you throw in a new set of pistons and gaskets.
  21. they are basically a 28pwk knockoff that's been bored to 30mm right?
  22. missed this one, happy belated birthday, Jim.
  23. I think for the most part, all of the posturing and defending is cool. If someone trashed my builder, I'd be sticking up for him too. It says alot about the confidence people have in their motors and relationships with their builders. There are several people that have great experience with Jim at Passion, so he must be capable of delivering a good product. Same goes with Jeff @ FAST. And Rocketboy, I think you hit the nail on the head about the jigsaw puzzle.
  24. it depends on what you mean by adjusting. jetting? idle?
