  1. better suspension like said, and maybe new cylinders designed just like the bikes.Little better wieght balance. Oh by the way, YAMAHA is a bunch of idiots to not change it much after all these years anyway. They have far better engineering than these aftermarket companies.
  2. 13/41 should do the trick for you.
  3. wiseco pistons, and stock carbs will perform everything your pipes will put out.
  4. Dont warm it up on the new plugs. Warm up the bike then put in the new plugs and run the shit out of it.Yes you will need gloves to take out the warm plugs. Also when you kill it make sure you keep the throttle open.
  5. yeah 21s ,buying race gas all the time sucks. especially if you go on long rides and want to fuel up at a gas station. I had high compression for two years until I switched back. High comp is good for dragin but other than that try to get 150 lbs comp.
  6. Are you holding the throttle wide open when you test ?
  7. what about electric start verses no electric start.
  8. you need about 100 to fire. Make sure you hold the throttle wide open you run the test.
  9. That may be so ,but for 3 years I was never beat by toomeys at the circle track or the dirt drags . I have trophies to prove it. I dont mean to sound cocky , but I have built many banshees ,and yes toomeys are good and the better chrome. But toomeys are not the fastest by no means. Pro Circuit, CPIs, Rockets ,and Shears are all faster on a ported banshee.
  10. sounds like you filed your plugs already, and is thier no water in your gas.Seen happen before.
  11. Clips in the bottom is the richest .Go back to 200 and even a little more if you have air filter mods.Im guessing if you have toomey needles, try 2nd or 3rd clip down .Also make sure you have #25 pilot jets . Now you shee should be singing.
  12. I used to run a setup like your bros. Get needles from vitos and a tors eliminator kit.for the jets you should be close, what about the pilot, go 30. Im also glad to see that people can now see how underated Circuit pipes are now .
  13. I would be willing to bet the farm that the 260s are to big. With just a k-n I cant see needing to up six jet sizes. That is closer to the jetting size for pipes.Watch your mufflers ,if there always real wet, dripping, you rich.Good Luck
  14. Sounds to me you need a decent set up with out spending a pile of $$$. You would be amazed how good a shee will run with just a MX or trail port,FMF gnarlys and keep the stock carbs.Just get the throttle override kit, and vitos needles. You said trails so I said gnarlys, but if you want to go faster get Pro Circuits or Toomey T5s.
  15. You just got rid of great all around pipes, and yes they will rev just as high as T5s and just as good but not chrome.Since you dont want in frame pipes, sound like you need to get another set of circuits to me. I do like my CPI s though. I have run CPI , Pro circuits , FMF fattys, Fmf gnarlys , Paul turner midrange. When you pipe a banshee it revs more so the spark system is not set from the factory for this, so you actually need to advance the timing 3-4 degrees. How much is a little bit on the exhaust ports. Just keep it jetted right, and good oil and she will treat you good.
  16. Just get a port job $ 225-300 Wiseco 4mm stroker $500-550 cut cool head domes $ 50 Since you run 100 octane set up for 180 lbs compression. 30 carbs are plenty big.stock cylinders run great if ported right, you dont need to buy other cylinders.I do porting, and my 350 has beat many bigger setups .Good luck
  17. 30 pilot jet and your pipes are fine.I do porting and have won many drags and flat track races with pro circuit. They rev just as far as toomeys ,just not as good chrome.Porting is every thing when it comes to going faster. go back to stock sprocket unless you run 18s on the rear.
  18. The caliper slides could froze up, is the spring on the brake pedal. Also buy yamaha pads, they last for the money.
  19. Dont worry about the flaking paint. We need your jet sizes to better help. Also has it been ported?
  20. Porting takes away your low end. If you want low end power you want to raise your compression, should of got FMF gnarlies, maybe a 13 front sprocket and get smaller carbs like 28s . Sounds like you want the stage II port nothing radical.
  21. You also will need to match your gaskets,or buy one from twister crankshaft that is aready stamped for this.
  22. This will help for wide open rpms. heres what to do. Turn your cylinders upside down, and put a light coating of grease where the base gasket goes. Now put the cyliders on the case and tap down tight. Now remove cylinders and you will see how the case needs to be ground back to match the jugs. Grind on a angle towards the rod ,not straight up and down. you should tear the engine apart to keep metal shavings out of the crank. The little holes, 4 of them are where the premixed gas lubricates the crank bearings. So dont let no dirt in them. Have fun.
  23. These are not the only people who do porting. If your not a hard core racer the $225 sounds good though.
  24. they used to make them.
