  1. Port it first and you will see a big difference. Then if you want a little more get carbs.28s work great on your setup and you dont have to buy bigger intake boots.Alot of guys over carb size and just burn excess fuel and loose instant throttle response.
  2. Yea ,buy one already done.If it is real clean and runs great and no engine knocks buy it.Just for a example I sold mine last year that I just finished recently before that.I had $5500 bucks in parts alone and only got $3800 out of it.Its a buyers market just keep your eyes open.If you fix up a old junker you will spend more $.
  3. You cant pipe and filter it and keep the pilot circuit the same.Your going to need 27.5 or 30 pilots .then fine tune with the air screw.
  4. Do you need the stater or the fly wheel.$40 for a good stater, you cant go wrong.
  5. You are running 18s on the back right?
  6. where and how bad do he hit the cylinder?
  7. Intakes are opened up plenty, but how about the rest of the ports?
  8. Yes ,make sure you have the proper flywheel puller that screws into your flywheel.A good impact wrench to remove and install.Put the key in right ,so you do not retard the timing.Make sure you get the flywheel tight or you will shear that new key in no time. The key just lines up the timing for you.The taper of the shaft is what holds it there not the key.
  9. Mill abou .025" ,what you have to watch for if you bought a used banshee and it could be done already.I have seen peopledo this.
  10. We all know we race to win ,so most people take every advantage they can get.People dont buy a atv that they dont think that will work the best.
  11. You can try a dremel with a round diamond bit.
  12. If your buying a used one ,get one already set up.Youll be glad you did.
  13. Buy a used tank cheap ,and your back to sqaure 1.
  14. Your gearing is fine just throw on some 18" rear tires.
  15. You added more air flow now you cant stay with the stock 200 jets.
  16. I guess the pros are racing 450s because there junk then? Dont get me wrong I love banshees ,but they just dont handle that great for MX.
  17. Porting all the way,way more for the money than some flipping little reeds that cost.$200.A good ported 350 with just pipes and good pipes is FAAASSST! When I race 1/2 mile flat track I dont worry about somebody who has a big engine or fancy names on the cylinders.
  18. I agree they suck in the ruff or tree edges. There the reason I bought a steering stabilzer.Buy holeshots or razrs.Unless you ride doads or something.
  19. Used them in a 427 stroker .Holding up to this day.
  20. I saw a banshee win at high point nationals a couple years back.Yea it was decked out,but it smoked all the hondas.Sell both your bikes and get a yfz 450.
  21. Does this mean your in the market for pipes,or do you already have one of the two.If you already have one keep them, not worth switching. If you are buying, Pro Circuits have a broader power band and rev 100 rpm faster than toomey T5s.Toomeys have better chrome, but cost more.Fmf rust easier, and have a harder hit in power, making you spin more.It all depends on what kind of riding you do.I have used them all and my favorite is the circuits.
  22. Anytime you work on something keep it as simple as possible .And if you dont feel capable ,take the carbs off,and a repair shop could fix you up,it does not have to be a factory service center. As much as that goes there probally guys on here that would do it for you cheap. Your carbs are probally fine, maybe need cleaned inside. Its sound like your shee is low on compression, and might need rebuilt.Have someone do a compression test or buy a tester at the auto parts store.Or you might be able to rent one.Check for good spark also, hope you installed new spark plugs. The majority of the people use 32:1 I would say.Do not get the carb slides mixed up,or forget the rubber cross tube.
  23. After pulling hoses,if gas there put back on.Now open drain screws on the bottom of carb bowls. If fuel comes out its more than likely pilots plugged up.If no fuel its your float system or dirt at the float valve.I have seen the screen come out in the petcock.dont run inline filters if the petcock filters are good.
  24. I have also seen those aluminum shaft impellers wear and leak coolant into the tranny,And yes with new seals
