  1. I dont want to sound like a a$$ but PT mids are not what you want if you are going to start mods on a shee. There are better pipes,I have used most and liked PTs the least. My 2 cents worth but I have spent way to much on banshee pipes and set ups. Get Pro Circuits or T5s For all around great pipes.
  2. I would say 30 pilots, needle clips moved down a notch. when you get it dialed in it will run great.better than stock in all ways.Just play with until you get it just right.pilots and air screws for low end, needles for mid range and mains for top end .What size mains do you have in now?
  3. Have you done a plug check ? Are your silencers real wet or are they dry?
  4. BUY them at auto parts store.About $30 at auto zone. Not the best tester but will do the job.
  5. Go with cut domes for the stroker and throw away the spacer kit. Then raise your porting to match.
  6. 14/41 or if you ride alot of open go 15/ 41
  7. stock banshee tires suck. your 18s with bigger front sprocket if your shee is modded much. 240 is short, you better get a good start.Good luck.
  8. I dont want to see stage 3. I want to see companys get it right the first time.Just like Toomey, how many T pipes are they going to produce.
  9. 2 cylinders - 2 carbs the way yamaha designed it,for me.What is amazing how good you can make a shee rip with keeping the stock carbs.Just get rid of the TORS. Mine had 34s but there not a have to have item unless you got a very good port job and pipes.
  10. make sure the brass washer is under the main jet.Check spark,is it on both sides and good. Its rare but I have seen cases cracked by the crank bearings and suck oil when warmed up.
  11. Boy that builder sure likes to spend your money, and is full of sh!t .It does not take those carbs and pipes to make a 4 mm run good. I built my buddy that same set up with 30mm carbs and Pro Circuit pipes and I seen it run with some bikes that had alot more than him.Good luck
  12. Your gaskets should cover up the rubber plug so it dont leak.make sure the bottom of your cylinder is flat and nobody has marred it up trying to get it off.You could have a high spot not letting the entire surface seal .There is a spray gasket sealer that might help you its not thick like silicones.
  13. After you install the shift parts, adjust the up and down play for the shifter.Get it centered.
  14. Take off air filter boots and look at the slides. Are the arched cut away to the rear. Are the slides coming all the way down tight,no gaps under the slides.I have seen the little brass index pin on the side of the carb get loose and let the slide turn or spin.your problem has to be - to much fuel or lean condition. When did this start, by itself or after someone worked on it.
  15. I agree huge intakes dont always work the best, unless you can get that much through the transfers. I dont belive the extra boost ports do shit.I have ported quit of few banshees, and the fastest one had no boost ports. Some engine builders actually epoxy them shut.
  16. what kind of pipes? I have seen turners mids do that.
  17. If you want to save money ,run avation gace. many people are stuck on being ripped off for race fuel.I run av gas for two years in my shee even up to 210 lbs compression and no problems. Its probally running about $3,00 a gallon now. The air port calls it 100 low lead, but thats designed for high altitude. They tell me its more like 110 octane on the ground. Many car drag racers use it in there big block motors that cost alot more cash than our shees.
  18. Me ,I have done many. If interested PM me,Im in PA. All around port or high rev drag porting.
  19. That brass piece is there for a reason.you will end breaking your reeds while out riding and then its going to run like shit.Put the brass piece back on ,then have someboby mod your reed cages, but dont spend more than 40-50 bucs.
  20. I belive mst atv shops use the ball hone, just need the right size.I personally use a spring hone with 3 inch fine stones.
  21. For the cool head go with 20 domes. For the jets 280 to 320 on the mains and the pilots 27.5 or 30. get r done !
  22. Try pull starting,if this works do a compression test.you may be below 100lbs.
  23. fit blaster hubs only.
  24. supertechniplate is fine, many people run it.but I think maxima is a little better. What I always wanted to see is a shootout on 2 stroke oils. Although I do quite of bit of porting, the best wear I have seen was my buddies wiseco 4mm stroker on Maxima 927.Still had cross hatch marks months later.Thats when I switched.
  25. unless your racing I dont think 200 bucs for reeds is a good buy. I have run them for two years and loved them, but I have built many fast shees with out them.
