  1. if it get reassembled with t he same domes its going to do the same thing again..
  2. it will smoke even after the rings seat. usually prelube makes them smoke like crazy should clear up after a few min's of running
  3. here is what i like to do go out find the cocky 450 owners, race them on my banshee run right up next to them in 3rd or so slow down look at them, then take off in a wheelie.. fun times.

  5. i prefer the haynes. there is some extra info from the making of the book that can kinda help you along there is also more pictures and parts breakdowns i feel the info is easier to understand. either way both manuals will help in the day to day problems with banshee's but most the tricks are not in either book
  6. put it all together with clean carbs adn go from there. you might be suprised..
  7. outerwares? if you cannot see through them they wont let any air in although if you cleaned the carbs, you should have done the filters also. ?? compression test. make sure your parking brakes wires are done right. if all the normal stuff checks fine try gap at pickup and CDI

  9. yea i was going to finish it and try and sell it after that but i just subtracted what the parts and my time would cost from what i need for it and came up with this number. frame is clean let me know if you want some pics.
  10. welp i'd do a comperssion test usually if the crank fails it will turn over really hard adn have issues or it just locks up, tosses the crank out the side of the case.. when they come to me like that i just start att eh beginning and go till i find something wrong.
  11. [why do you have ported cylinders and stock pipes??? if its hard to start it either needs plugs, or the choke is not working check that the bowls are on right
  12. A+M Chassis. ? thought thats who a+s uses. that is a great price. why is the chassis so cheap but the pipes are crazy hi?

  14. if you want stock ya gotta pay the piper. 5 bucks for that clamp is nuts i think i have about 20 of them in a box. you should be able to find the thinner clamps at hardware store
  15. they are talking about shear's. cpi made a few diff design pipes. the current big bore pipes are pretty nice. just slap them on and see what you think dont sell those pipes you have now just yet.
  16. everything is explained in a repair manual. its a really good first in vestment. i'd suggest a HAYNES i dont like the clymer that much at all. the choke pickup is on the carb with the choke

  19. its a shame the economy cannot support him full time he's got a lot of talent with frames, engines, etc havent seen him at the dunes for a while. you should stop in there and tell him to drag his ass out for the HQ ride. be nice to see the ole GT roll again!!
  20. banshees are not like a 250r or any other "period correct" type of build. i dont really know why you would want to do that i can kinda understand but you would not be happy with it banhees strive int eh fact the aftermarket is SO huge for them its kind alike the chevy 350 of the atv world you can do whatever you want with them bling them out or make them your everyday driver the sky is th e limit.
  21. you cna buy bulk rubber mat and just cut out your own seal then silicone or import grey it all together while you hvae the box off you can seperate the other parts and seal them up also.
  22. the reason this motor dosent work is bad builder/ seller set up . and its a shame when you get the dome right and get everything else right with it its a brutal motor its funny to me about how people with 4 mill super cubs love them , say how kick ass they run etc. when this cylinder is a better design , has PV's, and bigger intakes which super cub owners say they need. the only differnce in them is the dome design. and i dont know why the seller/ builder of this top end cannot figure that out?
  23. all those mods and the bike still have the LID onit????? what the hell. if you need a plate get one and use a k+n filter. if you use the stock plastics BS i would still get a clamp on k+n filter. then remove all the foam bullcrap off the plastic thingy cut off the cage for the stock filter and then whenyou bolt it on seal it up good with import grey or yamabond. dont get nutso on the clamp for the filter. lots of other stuff you can do with the OEM box to make it fit better adn flow better. if your pulling the plugs and the motor seems lean the n RICHEN it up! if your trying to do 6th gear pinned till she blows runs for jetting your gonna end up with a really rich motor. takes a lot of fuel to run that far and that hard.
  24. tell him to get his own cylinder. he's obviously lost adn dosent even understand what you have. it wont even make enough compression to start.
