Depending on how old your motor is and how much power you put out the cases could need replacement. What happens is the races where the tranny bearings are held get stretched out and oblonged. When you hit the gas eventually the gears are just transfering power through the tips of the gear teeth. I would check the gears for play when the motor is apart. I also like heavier weight gear oil apposed to motor oil for the transmission. Would you put motor oil in the transmission of your truck? Maybe it's just me... but I wouldn't

How Old Do U Need To Be For A 600cc Superbike ?
SDD replied to fluxx's topic in General Banshee Discussion
It's just like a car license. You need to be 16 but good luck getting insurance. You'll probably want to take a rider safety course. If you do get one write out your will. I sold my bike last year because my insurance rates were jumping up from so many kids splatting themselves all over the streets. -
Wont Stop Going Wide Open!need Help Cant Fix!
SDD replied to H300F's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Check for a torn carb boot and make sure the carb caps are threaded correctly. Thats a large main jet size jump for Keihin carbs. The run on condition is a problem that should be addressed. It could be caused by something getting hot enough to act as a glow plug and keep the motor burning any fuel that flows into the motor. Check for signs of detonation. Is there any carbon build up in the cylinder? -
Jeff my X gf could start her Banshee pretty easily even though she weighed 100#s. This might be more of a matter of kicking technique rather than actual issues with the machine. My X's Banshee was set up like yours but had the timing advanced a few degrees (3-4). She had a hard time starting it at first as she was more trying to kick straight down instead of back and down. If you have no problems starting it then maybe you need to work with her on kicking.
-
How much compression does the Banshee have? How hard is it for you to start? A little bump in compression from a milled head and advancing the timing a few degrees might help out to a point. If you put a milled head or aftermarket head on your wife might have a harder time.

Ricky Stator +4 Axle For Banshee
SDD replied to Modified 50cc Dad's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Guys this is a pretty good deal... Rich sells them for 200 plus tax. I have run mine for over two years or riding with no problems at all. If you want a wider axle and don't want to spend a lot this is the best thing for the money. Its heat treaded chromoly steel and uses stock hardware. -
PM Inflames on is board. I know he has a spare basket that he isn't using.

Tighten the parking brake or unplug the little switch that goes to the clutch perch.

Robo I know a guy that will give you 3k cash right now if your interested... let me know and I'll give you his contact info.

On Off that gear should spin freely on the shaft if the transmission is in neutral. I suspect the motor was run low on gear oil to the point where the gear welded itself on the shaft. You need to take the gears off that shaft to see the full extent of damage.

Blaster Meltdown... Anyone Know Where To Get Parts
SDD replied to Holyman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I shortened my usual user name to the first letters since it was a bit much to type everytime I want to log into a site. That and the fact a lot of people abbreviated it anyway. I should ammend my post above... it should say there is no case trenching involved with a +2 stroker. You will have to relieve the cases a little where the rod clears the case on its way to and from TDC. -
Blaster Meltdown... Anyone Know Where To Get Parts
SDD replied to Holyman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Holyman if you want to put in a stroker crank let me know. I know of a guy selling a +2 and +4mm stroker cranks that are done up by crankworks. The +2 requires no case mods. I believe he wants 200 plus shipping. -
Banchetta have you tried different pipes and different needles in the carbs. Sometimes you can jet a dip out of a dyno graph and other times you can't. To get the most out of your motor I believe you should look into having custom pipes made for your setup. Off the shelf pipes just don't work as well for custom built motors.

What kind of oil are you using and at what ratio? When was the packing changed in the silencers?
-
Wow this board is really refreshing.... nope it's just my eyes closing because I'm falling asleep waiting for it to happen.
-
Thats a large carb for a Banshee motor.... unless you have something like a big bore stroker. What mods do you have?
-
Then wouldn't it run lean? Did you make sure to put the choke tube and crossover tube back on? Could it be something in the cylinders since they were just rebuilt? Have you checked compression? I don't know if this could cause it, but are you sure the float bowls are on the right carbs? Yes it would run lean to the point where the cylinder would not fire with every revolution. This fuel mixture will build up inside the pipe until that cylinder fires and the flame front moves out the exhaust port and ignites the gas left over in the pipe. The "back fire" noise is the rapid expansion of this burning mixture. After time this condition will cause problems with reeds.

Take the side cover off and make sure there is nothing in there that shouldn't be. Since you took the MAGNETIC flywheel off sometimes it will suck up things like washers or small bolts and screws. If you didn't notice it when you put it back on it could be spinning inside the flywheel tearing things up. The key itself could have fallen out of the notch when you slid the flywheel back on as well.

If you still need pilots let me know... I get them for pretty cheap at Alba. I think I have 290s in my jet bag as well. I know I get main jets for 1.86 each. Pilots are 5 bucks each or something like that.
-
If that is the pic of the bike... You don't have stock pipes on it. If the lid is on the airbox you should be jetted close to where you need to be.
-
Pull your pilot jet on the side that isn't firing. It's most likely plugged up with something like a piece of sand. You will need something like a needle to dislodge it.
-
The weld is a factory job. Its there to keep the allen bolts from loosening up and sending you for a nasty spill. Your steering stem might be bent causing the adjustment to be out of wack.
-
Your air leak might be the source of the oil. Do a leak down test and see if your are leaking out of your case vents. If you are leaking from there your crank seal is bad.
-
Indubitably that avitar is just wrong.... jabba the hut has nothing on that fatty.
