  3. I am thinking about selling my Banshee and buying a Odyssey but I can't find much info on them. As I get older my banshee seems to be getting a little too fast for me. If anyone out there has one, i'm trying to find out if they are able to keep with quads on trail rides and still have enough power at the dunes to have fun? I've looked around a bit on the internet but there does not seem to be much info on them. I'm not sold on this idea yet because I have not rode an Odyssey since about 1986 or '87. Thanks, Andy C
  4. cool thanks for the info. andy c
  5. i have a 2001 and am thinking about going to pismo in aug. i have heard that in california you have to register your bike and that california restricks the months that i will be able to ride. does anyone know if i will have problems if i dont register and try to ride outside my assigned months? andy c
  6. thanks for the info, what about the rubber rings between the plates i did a search and read a few posts that say you dont need them with aftermarket clutches but if i put them in will it hurt anything? andy c
  7. im putting a new ebc clutch kit in today, i dont have a manual nor have i ever done it before. are there any hidden problems that im going to run into? is there anything i should know before i start? i already soaked the new one. to install the plates and springs do i need to remove the basket? thanks for any help, andy c
  8. i was just being paranoid, turns out i met with two other friends on shee's at dumont and the noise was normal .
  9. i removed my flywheel, installed a 3 degree alba key then re-installed the flywheel to 59 lbs. i started my shee and it runs great (stronger than ever) but now has a funny growl coming from the flywheel area. the growl can only be heard at idle. i dont know if i am just hearing things being over cautious because of new mod. can removing the flywheel mess with the main bearings? or will the degree cause any noise? i need advise because i am headed to dumont in the morning. i hope i didnt screw something up, the sound might just be the engine working and i never noticed it. there is no new vibration.
  10. didnt start engine with the flywheel loose, started it after i thought i stripped something. i wrote that out of order in my last post....sorry bout that. have everything together now and it looks right. if the flywheel is seated on the crank does that mean the key is in right and if not is there a way to tell if it is in right? the key seemed to shift every time i tried to put the flywheel on. andy c
  11. ok.....got it off just kept tapping puller and turning. thanks for the help, andy c
  12. ok.... i just tried that and it still wont come off. i think i might have created a problem. when i was taking off the flywheel nut, i was holding the brake while in 6th gear, the wheels did not turn BUT the flywheel and the nut turned a fraction of a turn without getting loose. that didnt feel right. i ended up using a drum brake tool to hold the flywheel and that worked perfectly. after the flywheel and the nut turned without getting loose, i started up my shee and it started fine.....is it possible to sheer the key while trying to remove the nut? if so would that cause my flywheel to not want to come off? thanks, andy c
  13. i have my flywheel nut off and i have a banshee flywheel puller, but the flywheel is not just popping off? in the manuel it says not to apply too much presure to the puller. im applying over 30 lbs and it is still not popping off. im worried about striping the threads on the flywheel puller and hurting the flywheel. who much is too much? how easy should it pop off? thanks, andy c
  14. thanks for the info, i think i will install it for now and order the plate from ricky stator. thanks, andy c
  15. i bought alba +3 key and before i install it i was wanting to know if anyone has had problems with timing advance key's? i have an '01, fmf gold series, milled head, wiseco .020 over, boysen power reeds, k&n, running 145 lbs, and use 100 octane fuel with r2. thanks, andy c
