  1. This was not just a rumor or bs. I told a few guys about this when this post first showed up and gee if you were wondering where I got the info from... yes it was from Dan Wade. We discussed the 12 port and potential fixes for some of the jetting issues. I showed him port maps with port numbers and pictures of all the ports. Reed spacers did help the couple guys with jims port work in my group. Take the advice for what it's worth
  2. Matt your more that welcome to compare those to these... I'll be switching those smaller MR-11 to the new MR-16s and putting the MR-11's on my dirtbike.
  3. Maybe you saw my Shee with the HID's driving around Sat night around the Olds "Parking lot". Way busy this year compared to previous trips. We should make a Glamis riders post so we can get trips planned together. Hopefully I can get my new motor jetted in time for the next trip.
  4. PM Justintoxicated I know he has a set for sale.
  5. Actually its more like wash 2-3... when going down wash road turn at the little train switch house (looks like a port-o-potty but made out of brick) and drive pretty much straight in until you hit the small dunes... You guys are in for a little surprise!!! I just spend 3 hours on something last night. I'll have more details next week.
  6. Hey Matt... PM me with your email address and I'll get you everything you need to know... I'm not making any of the resources I have public on the board. Specially when people like bigred350x might not understand the instructions and really mess up his bike and try blaiming me for it.
  7. Ok guys hopefully we have all settled down some. Thanks Tyler for posting in a sensible manner in which you explain yourself. As far as me needing a fan club.. no thanks I don't want or need one. The few people I help out on a regular basis keep me busy enough. This is the reason I posted what I said before. Tyler you seemed to have brought up and talked about the cubs in many topics and each and every time you say stupid shit like "Oh cubs will make the best trail motor" blaa blaa blaa. Now tell me is that not beating a dead horse? I left that post alone and haven't even touched any of the other cub posts since it's not worth arguing about it. Now when you insult someone directly that I have had the oppertunity to talk with on a couple of occasions, I feel that person should have the chance to retort on your post. Is this not fair? I'm sorry the rest of you guys had to try to come in here and take sides on such a stupid topic but hey... it's only an opinion. Sandstar I don't know who the hell you are or what you ride but I sure as hell didn't meet you out at Glamis on Presidents weekend when all the other HQ members from back East where here (John "JKJK" sure as hell did have the fastest banshee at Olds the whole time we were there out of all the people I saw at the hill). If you want to take on Dan lets be fair about it... Thanksgiving 05 lets see you start with a set of nonported stock cylinders on say a 65mm bore size. You buy yourself a 4mm stroker crank and what ever exhuast and intake parts you want. You port this motor yourself and do all your own work. Dan will build up a simular motor and lets see whos motor is fast. I'll place the farm on Dan. PTT guys on this board do know what I ride and I more than a couple have ridden with me at Glamis. Do I need to post a video of me riding to make you happy? Get a life dude... 02bluemxshee what were you saying about why don't builders post... I think Dan Freakin Wade just told you why... Shit this site is out of hand... I have nothing else to say
  8. Tyler, I don't know if your trying to start shit or what. Talking shit behind someones back that has years more knowledge than you is flat out stupid. Yeah I got into with you on that Trail Cub post and it's funny how all your little backers come running to defend you when someone calls you out. I've said this before and so have others... this site is going down hill I believe it's from people like you. If you don't believe it why have you joined Planet Sand with all your "buddies"? Was it because you don't want to deal with stupid posts or is it because you want to learn more about building fast bikes? Maybe it was so you can try to push more builders or products on people of that site (the guys there liked your posts about Rocket Pipes didn't they?)... who knows, I sure don't. Now before all you Tyler supporters come in here and bitch to me, why don't you let Tyler post his opinion. I guess I'll go back into exile until you reply. I better watch out he's a big bad moderator here...
  9. Yeah so I PMed him to keep stupid pitty shit like this off the board. So it's coming down like this... It's all you guys against me. I don't give a shit about you guys and your opinions so post what you want like you have been. The PM I wrote to BigRed was my opinion and for him to run straight to the board and post this shit to get all you guys stirred up to defend him is just the kind of shit I expect. Go ahead and say what ever you guys want because there have already been a few posts in this very thread from other members that ride their cubs on trails and they say they work just fine. This is what this whole bullshit arguement is about in the first place. Then we get little insults that turn ugly and we end up fighting over stupid shit. I stayed out of this thread until now because shit for brains people like BIGRED350X feel the need to post pussy comments. There are a few cool people on this board that I talk with on a regular basis and they are the only reason why I'm still here.
  10. Don't waste the 20 mins like I did... after 1083 I let one go and it restarts.
  11. Did I ask for your opinion on this thread? I'm debating the trail worthy qualitys that Cub cylinder have. If I have experience with a particular subject I will answer just like you would. If I don't know I won't answer... go back and look through my posts dipshit. You'll see this for yourself. You want the truth here it is. I was thinking about selling Cubs since I talk to the manufacturer as well as a few builders in a voice chat every Tuesday. The only way to get a good discount on these cylinders is to buy at least 10 of them. I don't know about you but I don't have the cash to drop on 10 Cub cylinders and then hope someone would buy them. I asked around trying to see how much interest I could get into buying them. Only 3 guys PMed me and said they had the money and wanted them. 3 is not enough to be worth buying 10 don't you think? I do know that the port timing is not all that radical. This is why I was asking your brother for porting numbers. I was going to compare your guys porting specs with the cub cylinder to show you that the timing isn't that much different. The problem with the stock cylinder is the transfer port tunnels. They suck flat out no argueing that fact. The cubs are optimized in this area and that is what makes the have way more power than the stock cylinders no matter how much work you try to do to the stock cylinders. The cub cylinders are new and most builders are building them up to make the most power since that is the hardest thing to do. If I decide to leave HQ it will be because I want to not because a person like you tells me to. Sure I've been "whining" about lame people on the board. To me there has been a recent influx of newbies that are bringing down this board. I have noticed this on other boards lately as well. Don't believe me look at this post on PS http://www.planetsand.com/ubbthreads/showf...rt=1#Post306922 Builders used to answer these types of questions. Lately they won't even post on these threads. Oh well there is no need to reply since this is just my lame opinion.
  12. He won't lose more than 5-10 hp reconfiguring the power band to make it more trail rider friendly. Oh well whats the use with arguing with people that don't know squat. Genius has it's limits but stupidity has no end.... see ya guys
  13. Thanks Dan for coming in here and clearing up some misconceptions about the new Cub cylinders. One thing I would recommend people do is upgrade their suspensions before running a Cub cylinder. You'll be going much faster with all the power on tap.
  14. I just got one of the guys in the cube farm. He had is cranked up pretty good and everyone in my office heard it. Everyone was cracking up.
  15. Rockets made a little more than CPI's but were down around 3-4 HP compareded to Shearers. They were up 2 HP over the CPI's...
  16. There are many other factors to determining the right jets for your Banshee. Altitude is one of them. You would need to rejet as you rise in altitude typically.
  17. Loco can you post your bro's port timing numbers or ask him to post his numbers? What other mods does he have as well?
  18. Does everyone ride in the trees? Powervalves allow a cylinder to have more extreme exhaust port timing with the valve up yet still have a decent/lowend port timing wise when the valve is down. I know 1800bigK's Full Cheetah doesn't have the powervalves in it and he says the motor has more torque than a YFZ. I don't know if this is true or not but it really doesn't matter anyway. The nice thing about the cub is you can get it in a larger bore size (68mm) in the stock stroke length. This along with higher compression domes will be plenty torquey if you set it up to be. It all depends on your whole engine setup... the port timing plays a part on engine character but so does the pipe, carb, compression, timing, and a bunch of other minor things.
  19. I know your brother had a crappy dyno sheet thats not easy to make out. No one should care about HP numbers... everyone has HP as being the most important thing when it's actually the torque that is doing the work. Would you say a bike with 45#'s of torque with a 1000rpm width at 5k rpms would be more rideable than a bike with 45#'s at 7k-10k rpms for a 3k wide powerband? Basically what I'm saying is what matters the most in making a rideable machine is how wide the torque curve is and how much over rev the bike will have. From the sounds of it you were drag racing on 01bansheeke's bike. That short amount of time on any unfamiliar bike isn't enough time to give an honest opinion. If you rode a Blaster for 6 months what do you think your opinion of a Banshee would be after a few mins of riding? I know I would be impressed with the power but complain how much you have to shift.
  20. Where do the stock motors with stock pipes come into the band? Show me a dyno curve that comes onto the pipe at 4k rpms. You may not like a Banshee that comes on at 6k rpms but who says everyone doesn't? What makes up trail riding anyway? Your trail riding might be through trees that you can barely squeeze a quad through. Others maybe talking about desert trails with lots of wash roads to blast down.
  21. Flat out topend? Got any dyno plots to prove this?
  22. Care to tell the rest of us HQ members exactly what makes up a good trail motor? Please be as specific as possible and include port timing numbers. You have posted in just about every thread about Cubs that they are drag/race motors.
  23. The older style came with the grease zerks but they say the newer ones don't need them because they now come with Delron bushings already pressed in.
  24. Thanks Dunedemon for posting exactly how I feel. I'm tired of the bullshit here. If you guys look at my profile I've had over half my posts in the Mods section. I know most of them were to help fellow Banshee riders. I'm beginning to wonder why I bother. I posted a topic in there recently called Thumb Throttle swich or something like that. It was my way of finding out if I was just going to move on or kind of hang out and lurk. Two guys out of the guys that posted actually knew what the hell they were talking about or took the time to post a detailed response. Thanks to these two members I have decided there are a few quality members left in here that are worth staying here for. I'm going to just hang out and if someone has something intelligent to post then I may jump in. As far as the other lame questions and topics I'll leave the parrots alone to try to explain what to do.
  25. Oh come on it's all in the name of fun... can this be moved to the Roost section?
