hahahahahaha, yeah i know i know. i went from a single 35 to dual 35's so it will take time to get used to it, but i'll probably do something to ease it a little.
-
trex, about how many coils did you cut off? i rode my shee for the first time with the dual 35 pwks and it wore my thumb out quick and that's with a cascade extended throttle lever, so i was considering cutting one coil off at a time to see how much it helps, i was wonder how many coils you ended cutting off.

from that pic they don't look like the SST's that i had nor do they look like the pipe in the pic below. the style name of the pipe should be stamped on them. do you have anymore pics, possibly close ups? this is what an SST looks like, notice that the section between the pipe and the stem that connects to the stinger is skinnier than the stem, that is one of the differences between the SST's, fatties, or gnarly's.

come on big money, you should give it away. or do a hurricane benefit auction. if it was hot pink i'd give you $100 + shipping.

yeah i saw a few pics of that a while back, he did a damn good job. i thought about the angled filters, i thought about cutting the front section of the stinger off and plumbing in a new piece to avoid the filter, but screw that shit, i'm so pissed off i could shit fire. i've spent a lot of money with trinity in the past year or so and i've had nothing but issue after issue with their work and products, they will never get a dime of my money again. it's a damn shame when you have to jerry rig shit to get a $700 set of pipes to clear. thankfully i didn't spend that much for them but what a waste of time and money. if trinity knew that they have clearance issues which they know that they do with their inframes why didn't they redesign them or why don't they offer the angled or cone style filters when they sell their dual carb setups, that's piss poor planning and marketing. i just ordered a set of the inframe shearers from inland atv so i hope everything will go well with them, if not i'll send them back. matt shearer is one heck of a guy, i spoke with him on monday for a while as well as today after i ordered the pipes. thanks fellas for the replies.

i like inframes as well, but when i noticed that i was having clearance trouble the first thing that came to mind was out of frames. if i could have gotten my hands on a set at that moment because i was so pissed i would have put them on and would have been done with it, but that's not what i want. how far are the bottom of the stingers above the bottom of the frame rails? i have about 1/8 to 1/4 inch gap between the top of the filter and the bottom of the frame so if the bottom of the stingers are about a 1/4 inch above the bottom of the frame rail then i should be fine .

just out of curiousity which one rubs? i thought they were riveted, that sucks. i figured there would be clearance issues with the left side. i agree, it's tough to get good clearance with large expansion chambers, i was hoping that these would clear the head tho. yeah i bought some of that and probably will use it regardless of which pipes i run. the head clearance issue doesn't bother me that much, i could use some extra washers as race-a-holic mentioned (done that before) and/or i could take a rubber mallet and put a small dent in the area where it comes close to the head (done that before as well). right now i have trinity stageIV SS pipes and they push the f@ck out of the left filter, not slight contact but hard contact and if i were to put header wrap on the stinger then it would push it even harder. i contacted trinity and their solution was to zip tie the filters together, if i did that then i still wouldn't have enough clearance. so the main reason that i was looking at another set of pipes is that i was hopeing to gain some clearance between the filters and the stingers. i don't want to put uneccessary pressure on the intake and filter rubbers or tweak the positioning of the carbs or filters because i'm afraid that it may cause a slight air leak or one of the two will pop off while i'm running it. i know it's a tight fit and Yamaha wasn't considering the installation of big after market carbs and filters when they designed the frame, but damn it man. the shearers look like they were designed to clear the pod filters so that's why i'm entertaining the thought of getting a set. i spoke with Matt Shearer yesterday and he said that i shouldn't have any problems with clearance but it sounds like i may run into that issue with these as well, WTF.

i'm interested in getting a set and i was wondering how well they fit. do they clear the head without rubbing? is there plenty of stinger clearance over a set of K&N pod filters with outerwares (i have 35mm PWK's), about how much clearance is there? are the silencer end caps riveted or do thay have screws? how would you rate the overall fit and finish?
-
well imagine that, too many beers i guess. thanks odaen.

do they have a website? i tried searching for one on google under several search names and i couldn't find anything. if they don't have a site does anyone have a phone # because i have a few questions that i would like to ask them?
-
i agree, if you don't mind the price then get the pingle. when i go to duel 35mm's from my single 35mm i plan on getting the pingle. while doing a little searching a while back for prices and such i noticed that on the ones that i saw there was only one short input (basically a screen) so it would help when your tank is low while going up or down a hill (to a degree). if it matters to you or not you will not have the reserve option like you would with the stock petcock but you will definitely have better flow.

you have to admire his persistency and tenacity though. -
yeah that's one of the reasons that they were re-engineered===Vforce3. the same thing happened to a buddy of mine, not a good feeling.

when my bike was stock i had SST's along with a pro-flo flange and filter, my buddie's bike was stock but he had T5's along with a pro-flo flange and filter. when swapping bikes in the same trails we noticed that we didn't have to shift or clutch as much when riding my bike (SST's) as we did when riding his bike (T5's). i feel that the SST's perform better in the tighter trails but if you are going duning and riding in more open areas i would say that you should go with the T5's. the SST's come on earlier but they sign off earlier than the T5's.

dominator racing oil is basically the same as the series 2000 racing oil. when i was using the series 2000 it was getting hard to find some times so i contacted amsoil and they said that the dominator was replacing the series 2000. i agree that the series 2000 oil is good but i switched to the amsoil saber professional 100:1 because i don't run WOT very much at long periods of time just quick short bursts.

i was wondering if anyone had experience with both carbs and if there was a noticeable difference between the two? i know that the air strikers are supposed to improve throttle response but do they really, are they worth the extra money?

Anyone know the website for moto tassanari?

hhhhhmmmmmm????????? were the trinity's on a ported engine? i had SST's for a year and a half and i liked them on the stock engine but they don't even hold a candle to the trinity's on my ported engine. the trinity's come on sooner and pull longer on top, and yes both set of pipes were/are jetted properly. i would like to put trinity pipes on a stock ported bike to see how they perform, and because they are designed for a ported engine where as the SST's were designed to work well with a stock port engine the trinity's "may not" do as well but they sure out shine the SST's on a ported engine by far. if i rode WOT most of the time i probably would run a set of in-frame drag pipes but for my riding style they are up to par and if they weren't i damn sure would get something else. but to each their own.
