  1. it sure does. i have the cascade one as well and like wallrat said it's a nice product and worth the money. i'm sure that you'll be happy with it when you get it installed and ride with it.
  2. what plug gap are you guys running with? yamaha recommends .028 to .031. i'm using the standard BR8ES NGK at .028 and i was wondering if i could get away with a narrower gap like .022 or .024. i use a 50/50 mix of pump gas and race gas because of my higher compression and +4 timing advance so i thought that i may benefit from the narrower gap due to the high octane fuel that i'm running. any thoughts?
  3. it's all about experimenting. i can't help you with gearing in the dunes beacuse i've never ridden in the dunes (damn it). but i do have experience with 15/41 gearing compared to stock 14/41. i primarilly ride in the woods so the 15/41 seems to be a little taller than i would like but 14/41 seems to be a little lower than i would like because it seems that i'm shifting more than i would like. one of these days i'm going to try 14/40 but i've been to lazy to do it so maybe i'll get off of my lazy arse and do it this weekend and try it out. i'm not sure if i will be able to tell much of a difference but the sprockets are cheap enough to experiment with. by using the 14/40 (2.86) it will basically put you between 14/41(2.93) and 15/41 (2.73). this will basically accompllish the same task as using 15/42 (2.80) or 15/43 (2.87) AS PER LOCO'S SUGGESTION . I DEFINITELY AGREE WITH WHAT LOCO SAID but the reason that i'm going with the 14/40 is because i already have the 14 and 15 so now all i have to get is a 40 and put it on with my 14 and try it out, and in the future with more mods and possibly more open riding areas i can put my 15 on the bike (15/40=2.67) and have more top end than the other combos that i have mentioned. let us know how you like the 15/41 and if i try the 14/40 this weekend i'll let you know if i could notice much of a difference.
  4. i was wondering how these compare to keihin and mikuni carbs as far as performance and the ease of tuning.
  5. Fireman-hott, is this set up on a 420? what pipes are you running and what type of porting do you have?
  6. wow a dance pole in the house. man oh man is that cool as hell
  7. normally i run mazola at 50:1. after thanksgiving i use the peanut oil from my turkey fryer and run that at 100:1, man what an awesome smell. actually i use amsoil series 2000 at 50:1. i'm considering switching to the 100:1 and running it at 80:1. i ride the woods so i'm not WOT very often so i'm thinking that i can get away with it. but i'm still leary because amsoil doesn't recommend it for the banshee .
  8. I dont have to imagine my friend. Its reality for me. she is slow as hell but I will never get a ticket in it I bet... right on. yeah you're right, you'll never get a speeding ticket in that beauty. by the looks of it you could put just about anything in it and it would suck it down like a two dollar HO on a saturday night. does the heater work? if so you're golden.
  9. HHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMM............................... imagine that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. hey guys, what type of sealer do you use when you replace these plugs? clymer's says to use gasgacinch sealer (what ever that is), i have yamabond and i was wondering if that will work or not. thanks.
  11. i'm in the process of puting a 2 into 1 setup on the shee with a keihin 35mm and i was wondering if someone could give me the K&N part # so that i can order the correct filter. thanks.
  12. thanks guys. i thought so but i wanted make sure.
  13. i'm getting ready to put my engine back together so i'm cleaning and inventorying things and i noticed that there is only one bearing clip (C shape) that goes into a groove on the crank and a groove in the cases on the right side of the engine (clutch side). it seems like there should be two because there is a groove on the top case and lower case. the clymer's manual shows only one in the diagram on page 132 but i wanted to check with others to make sure that i wasn't over looking anything. thanks.
  14. i primarily ride in the woods and after i put my FMF SST pipes on i rode it once with 14/41 gearing and before the second time out with the new pipes i switched to 15/41 gearing and i like it alot better. as others have stated i don't have to shift as much because the power seems to be spread out a little more so to speak, plus the tires weren't breaking loose as quickly and easily which helps make the bike quicker( a little more traction). after i get my port work done i'll run the 15/41 gearing and see how i like it then i'll probaly experiment with 16/41 gearing because of the extra power.
  15. i use an aluminum extended one from cascade-innovations.com. it's about an inch longer than stock so you have more leverage which makes it easier to push plus they use a sealed ball bearing on the shaft which helps as well.
  16. boy those shearer's live in the high rpm's. although i don't really need a so called high rev pipe i would like to try the cpi's one day but i may look into the shearers. i like the way that the cpi's and shearer's seem to have a pretty broad torque and hp curve.
  17. no, the blaster will win because the creases in the plastics are actually a highly customized graphics kit hahahaha LOL, that's exactly what i thought when i saw it, it must be the plastics.
  18. congrats walter. yes your shee is worthy of being in any reputable magazine, sweet bike.
  19. LOL. it's a buddy of mine that has started PCing here lately and he wasn't sure. he's done some nice stuff on his shee and motorcycles but nothing for a hi-temp application.
  20. i want to have my jugs and head powder coated candy red or some variation of red and i was wondering if i could get away with having them coated with regular hotcoat powder or should they be coated with hi-temp powder? i can't seem to find hi-temp powders in red. i believe that regular hotcoat is recomended for use up to 250 degrees normal operating temp, my coolant temp stays well below 200 degrees (normally between 168 while running at a good pace, and 190 when putting around) but i don't know if there are areas on the head and jugs that exceed 250 degrees. i know that i can get hi-temp spray paint but i would rather have them powder coated. thanks.
  21. well said, i agree totally. i'm sort of in the same boat. people say (hearsay) that FMF SST's don't work well with porting either, maybe they do and maybe they don't. i feel that it all depends on the type of port job one gets. i don't expect them to work as well as cpi's or rockets with a drag style port job but i think that they would work real well with a mx style port job, probably not as well a ptr mids BUT DAMN SURE BETTER THAN STOCK and maybe better than some others. i'm getting some port work done soon and i'll use the SST's until i can afford to or decide to change to a different pipe, but then again i may love the way that it runs and decide to keep them. (more beer money) like sredish said work with what you have for now.
  22. thanks. wow, that seems kind of high for a so called mx bike.
  23. i was just wondering what the stock gearing is and i figured that someone on here could help a brotha out.
  24. YEE-HAAA..... that's kick ass like stan said. yeah buddy!!!!!!! many many hours and a lot of brain power. i wish i had the tools and the know how to build stuff like that.
  25. yeah why bother, just change domes? if you did mill it then you would have to recut the grooves for the o-rings and modify the domes as well in order to get the full effect. it's more of a hassle then it's worth.....cost...time......and the chance of screwing up a good after market head . not worth the hassle or cost. just buy a new set of domes.
