  1. yes 2R is a two-stroke pre-mix oil and 4R is a four-stroke crankcase oil.
  2. is this when the cable is connected to the carbs and connected to the thumb throttle at the same time? if so then you may have to adjust the cable at the thumb throttle body. also, do the carb caps have an adjustment on top of them? if so then they may need adjusting as well.
  3. i agree. those were the things that first came to mind. the only way to take care of a problem is to fix it properly not bandaid it because it may cause more problems down the road. a busted piston skirt will hurt. i know that they're not trying to spend much money now but it's possible that it could cost them more in the long run, but then again it may not hurt anything either.
  4. i agree. that was thing first that came to mind when i read your post before i read the previous replies. i have a 2into1 with a 35mm keihin and it will be gone after the summer. you'll step it up a notch when you put dual 33mm or 35mm carbs on there. but after that you'll have step up to alcohol, nitrous, cheetah cub cylinders, or the big daddy cheetahs, which you'll need the dual carbs for anyway.
  5. yeah you sure have to know what items normally sell for becuase if your not carefull you can get ripped off. yeah i always look at the shipping cost, i factor that into my final bid as well good catch. i often wondered how often that took place........A-holes.
  6. where are the beer mugs and shot glasses?
  7. $169 for the banshee, where?
  8. no, it's a 34mm PJ, "PJ 67RA1JA". if you go to these links and look where they talk about "carburetor's standard jetting" and look at the size of the carb you will see the part #'s. http://www.keihin-us.com/pj.htm http://www.keihin-us.com/pwk.htm PJ Carburetors Standard Jetting SIZE MAIN PJ 34MM 67R #152 #55 48CEG #6.0 PJ 38MM R39 #168 #62 48DGJ #6.0 PWK Carburetors Standard Jetting SIZE MAIN JET SLOW JET JET NEEDLE PWK 33MM S46 #165 #52 48CGL C.A. 6.0 PWK 35MM 70R #160 #68 48DGK C.A. 6.0 PWK 38MM 71R #172 #58 48DEG C.A. 6.0
  9. what are the numbers/letters on the right side of the carb just above the bowl?
  10. yes temp and altitude changes can effect your jetting and other things as well but not "octane" alone.
  11. "Av gas is no good for raceing. The octane is inconsistant and every slight temp and altitude change will screw up your jetting." good point, that's what i was thinking when I read that. the octane is inconsistent in fuel for airplanes? i highly doubt that, it may be in pump gas but not in AV gas.
  12. i'll do the same thing as well. it's good therapy.
  13. did you guys do the break-in procedure (heat up, cool down, re-torque, 2 to 3 times, run a tank of gas throught it) before you checked the compression? most engine builders recommend this so that things seal properly and your rings seat well. as others have stated the engine needs to be warm and you have hold the throttle wide open, plus you will have to kick your tail to get a good reading.
  14. if it's the stock length chain it will fit for sure. just loosen up your adjusters most of the way. loosen your axle carrier nuts and bolts (top nut is 17mm, bottom nut is 14mm) then push on your axle carrier towards the front of the bike this will move the rear sprocket closer to the front and give you more chain slack then it will go on with ease, then adjust your chain accordingly making sure that there is a little slack in the chain. it's best to do this with the rear tires off of the ground. do you have a owners manual or a clymers manual, if so it will tell you step by step what to do? if not get a clymers it will come in very handy in the future.
  15. Fireman-hott, congratulations and good luck. those are some things that you should consider, some times the little things can make a difference. i know that some people may not care about the details but their are a lot of people that do. i agree with RNBRAD when he said that the 2 stroke pipe market has really lacked in quality pipes, most pipes aren't well built in my opinion. there's no comparison between my old FMF SST's and my Trinity SS pipes, the difference is night and day. i really like my trinity SS pipes, high quality. they look real good and i like the way that they go together as well. i like the fact that you can't see the stinger and pipe joint and there are no clamps, this looks so much cleaner. it sounds like you're heading in the right direction by listening to the consumers and trying to incorporate some of their ideas. the Rocket pipes seem to be great perfomers and if you can increase the quality you should have a winning combination. once again good luck, i hope this new adventure works well for you.
  16. are you trying to sell it so that you can get a 450?
  17. i think that they should be shot or they should hang them from the nearest tree, that's what would happen in the old west if you were caught stealing someones horse.....HANG EM' HIGH i hate f@cking thieves
  18. i agree. i've swapped front and rear sprockets experimenting with different combos while using the same chain which is in like new condition and i haven't had any problems. if you have a chain that is worn then it will probably cause your new sprocket to wear immaturely. i know that it's recommended to change every thing as a set but if you're just swapping sprockets for a short period of time to experiment and then buy a new chain and rear sprocket when you find the gearing that you like then you'll be fine.
  19. does anyone know where i can find a SS bumper? preferably a three bar bumper but i'll consider other styles. i thought i saw one a while back but i've searched the web and i can't seem to find one. later.
  20. how much for the thermostat?
  21. i'll assume that you still have the shee, right? i was afraid that you were going to say that you sold the shee and bought a four stroke, it seems to be the in thing now.
  22. here you go. http://home.earthlink.net/~gellett/banshee.htm
  23. Arkansas...... go figure the purplehull pea festival........ how classic?
