  1. A friend of mine has a Trinity 420 big bore with the stage IV porting and he wants to get the new cheetah cylinders and he’s willing to make me a great deal on his 420 (hotrod crank trued and welded, pistons, cylinders, head, etc.). the engine has only been together for about a year, it isn’t ridden a whole lot and it isn’t ridden hard in the trails but he makes a few drag passes with it every once in a while when he finds someone that’s willing to race. My question is would it be a good idea to have the rod bearings replaced before I put it together or would I be fine by putting it together and running it like it is. The motor runs strong and it is well taken care of but I would hate to have to replace the bearings in a year or so if I don’t do it now. thanks. chuck.
  2. The u-haul deal that evil had mentioned doesn’t sound like a bad idea. A few of my friends and I had talked about renting a motor home and a large trailer and driving straight through by taking turns driving. It would most likely cost more than a u-haul but would definitely be more comfortable and make for a better trip. We’ll probably make a trip up to the silver lake sand dunes in Michigan as a trial run before we try to make that long trip to glamis from Tampa.
  3. my 35 has this part # on it: 70RA2 LC. the # 70 is what determines the size.
  4. bump.
  5. a friend of mine has the trinity 420 with stage IV porting and pipes. he had the single 35mm on there when he first put it together and the single 35mm couldn't feed those ported 420 jugs on the top end. he said that he couldn't really tell the difference between the single 35mm and dual 35mm's up until about 6500 rpm's or so and after that he sure as heck could tell the difference. i never ridden it with the single but i can tell you for sure that the duals let that thing eat. personally i feel that with the power and the added torque of the big bore i don't think i would bother with the single, i would put duals on it and let it eat. like others had stated before, if you stayed with stock or mild porting then you would probably be fine but with the stage IV porting you'll need the duals in order to get the best out of it.
  6. what is the real deal on advancing or retarding your timing? which direction gives you better top end performance and which one gives you better low end performance? how is the stock cdi designed to work, does it advance at certain RPM's and retard at other RPM's? thanks.
  7. would you want more pre-load or less pre-load for someone who weighs 220lbs compared to someone who weighs 180lbs? i'm pushing 220+ with gear on and i need to adjust my rear suspension from the standard stock settings in order to compensate for the extra weight but i'm not sure wich settings would work best and i was hoping to get some info that would point me in the right direction. i know it will be trial and error in order to get it where i like it but i was wondering which direction i should start. thanks. chuck.
  8. Duece nice reveiw. sounds like a great bike, heck it sounds like my dream banshee . i'm impressed with the way you say that it runs. congrats. chuck.
  9. thanks lead, i thought so, i just figured it would be easier to ask you guys then it would be to sift through all of the crap on the net. when i get more time i'll do some more searching. fro, i did not. how would i go about doing that? thanks. chuck.
  10. i weigh 220+ with gear on and my shee sags quite a bit and i was wondering if i can just change the spring to a stiffer one in order to compensate for the extra weight because i can't afford to buy an entire shock assembly. thanks.

    Pd 20cc Domes.

i'm looking for a good set of prodesign 20cc domes. please PM me if you have a set and we'll work out a deal and payment arrangements. thanks. chuck.
  12. you're not playing fair . i have the similar setup; +4 degree key, sst's, fmf jet kit, pro flo filter etc. and i was riding with a guy for a while who had a cannibal and it wasn't even close, that thing doesn't stand a chance.
  13. i have a prodesign dual foam filter with an outerwear on it and i oil the main filter as well as the second filter and i was wondering if you folks that use similar filters oil both filters or just one? i'm wondering if i'm not allowing enough air flow because of the fact that i oil both filters or i may be over oiling it (not sure). thanks.
