A friend of mine has a Trinity 420 big bore with the stage IV porting and he wants to get the new cheetah cylinders and he’s willing to make me a great deal on his 420 (hotrod crank trued and welded, pistons, cylinders, head, etc.). the engine has only been together for about a year, it isn’t ridden a whole lot and it isn’t ridden hard in the trails but he makes a few drag passes with it every once in a while when he finds someone that’s willing to race. My question is would it be a good idea to have the rod bearings replaced before I put it together or would I be fine by putting it together and running it like it is. The motor runs strong and it is well taken care of but I would hate to have to replace the bearings in a year or so if I don’t do it now.
thanks.
