i agree. i have trinity's stainless steel in-frame pipes and i love them but i'm running them on "ported" stock jugs. if i was running a cheetah motor i probably wouldn't use those pipes i would use a set of in-frame drag pipes unless the bike was setup for nothing but drag racing then i would use a set of out of frame drag pipes. if your choice was just between the trinity pipes and the T5 pipes i feel that you would be better off with the trinity pipes. i've rode my buddies bike with T5's a lot and they are a good pipe but it's my opinion that trinity's are better performers.

no need to worry, you have experience on your side "pops"

yeah that looks good. is it a graydon, how much did you pay for it? didn't you have a trinity setup before? i'm sure you'll let us know if you notice a difference from your old setup, i'm curious to know.

i'm not sure if you can trust either one becuase they both can get you into a whole lot of trouble, or shot.

absolutely, you may have screwed up your crank, if not then you most likely will if you don't get it checked out and clean the debris out of the case. as a side note: you have to remember that on a two stroke engine the tranny and oil are seperate from the crank, the crank is lubed by your fuel/pre-mix not your tranny oil. so by draining the oil you won't be able to tell what happened to your top end bacause it's seperate from the tranny. this may be irrelevant to you but i thought that i would point it out. good luck.

hey, i'm paying attention , but i don't have any experience with those carbs, i wish that i could help .

the FMF cages are in great shape. i bought the replacement reeds in october from RMATV for $30+ shipping. if you look at the pic that compares them to a stock cage you can tell that the ports are larger than stock which should make them flow more than stock, probably like ported stock cages or better. the stock reeds/cages and intake with the cross over tube are from my '03 that i took off in october when i put my 2 into 1 intake on with the FMF cages. everything is in great shape they just need to be cleaned up a little. i want $55 shipped for the FMF reeds/cages, $25 shipped for the stock reeds/cages, $25 shipped for the stock intakes. help a brotha out, i'm trying to sell some stuff so that i can get a dual 35mm setup to replace my 2 into 1 setup.

what are the letters and numbers stamped on the right side of the carb above the bowl? you should also see whether it's says PWK or PJ which will tell what type of keihin it is. if it's a 33mm PWK it will have S46 as the first three digits stamped on the carb, 70R if it's a 35mm PWK, and 67R if it's a 34mm PJ.

yeah more power to you because you're going to need it, maybe the reason that you're getting rid of the shee is because you can't handle the power.

shees rule, i can't give you any info on these pipes that you haven't already heard because i don't have any personal experience with either pipe. but as others have said you probably couldn't go wrong with either pipe. but don't let people scare you away from the rockets if those are the ones that you really want because they say that the plugs are hard to change or the fuel petcock is a pain to turn on and off when the pipes are hot. if your bike is tuned properly and you use good premix oil and run fresh fuel then you won't foul plugs which means that there should be no reason to change your plugs when the pipes are hot. also if your bike does run well then you shouldn't have to change your plugs that often anyway. as far as the petcock is concerned if you ride with gloves then you can turn it on and off with them on. plus there's no reason to be turning your fuel on and off while your out riding for the day unless you have a fuel leak which you should get fixed anyway. as far as i'm concerned the so called plug and petcock issues are just petty exceuses, they sure wouldn't stop me if the rockets were the ones that i wanted.

yeah i'm considering a synthetic motor oil or maybe a semi-synthetic motor oil which is cheaper than full synthetic oils. to my understanding it's fine to run motor oils just as long as they're not labeled "energy-conserving" which typicaly are the thinner oils (10w30 and thinner), typically 10w40 and thicker oils aren't labeled with the "energy-conserving" label. because the very thin "energy-conserving" oils contain extra amounts of friction modifiers which can cause the clutch to slip typically aren't recommended. hhhhhmmmmm?????

same here.

good job, that's real cool.

i've been running motul "transoil expert 2-stroke gearbox oil" at $8 a quart and i want to switch to standard 10w30 oil. i'm sure that this is good oil but at $8 a quart i find my self not changing the oil as often as i would like. if i ran regular oil then i would change it after every ride or every other ride depending on how long and hard i ride. i was wondering if it would hurt my clutch by switching from synthetic oil to standard oil? (i ran the motul since i put the new clutch in). if i were to switch i would put regular oil in and run it for a little bit and drain it in order to try and flush out the synthetic oil (maybe twice), but i'm not sure if that would work in order to save my clutch. any thoughts?
-
yeah they're quick, you better have a good running shee and be a good rider if you're going to beat them consistently. i agree i hate the sound of the 4 strokes, they're annoying as hell.

i'll pay her $60 a 1/4 acre just as long as she lets me have her greasy panties when she's done....yummy -
do you know what trinity did to resolve this issue? what did the people that you know do to get their heads to seal properly, or did they just sell the setup and start over?
