  1. Holy good God man. You better have a tranny find NOW!!! Man, those are impressive #'s.
  2. I love it when people are happy!!!!!
  3. 700 HP?????? With bolt on Banks gear? Are you sure? I am thinking maybe 400-450 or so....... 700 HP is an astronomical # unless you drop some serious loot with some custom parts directly from Banks. I'm talkin some serious loot. You ain't gonna get close to those #'s with a powerpack??? What else you runnin on the truck Evil?
  4. Alright, there will soon be a head to head comparo of Banks Vs. backyard Boonman. My neighbor has an '02 powerstroke, and I have an '03. HE just received his Banks powerpack, with the Bighoss chip, intercooler, the whole shot. I will be going another route. Now, to address some issues here. The ONLY thing you will gain from Banks, is failsafe, "idiot proof" programming. This can be accomplished by ANYONE on the market, by tying in the Pyrometer to the tuning module(s). This has been accomplished by Edge products recently. Now, I do NOT like Edge any longer. I ran an Edge Evolution tuner, and it did wierd shit to my truck. I did not like the shifting, and it smoked excessively, and ran High EGT's. Now, I am currently running a TS chip. 6 stage flip. Compareable to the six gun. Being that there are 6 stages. (oddly enough). Now, the tranny issue with Fords, is an issue with any automatic tranny's diesel out there. Dodge is no exception, neither is a Duramax. ANY time you moda diesel, you are putting it out of the engineered "safe zone". BAnks trys to accomplish this with their transcommand. It works, but is only a band aid. There is no stock off the shelf tranny available from any of the OEM's that will stand up to the power of a "hot-rodded" diesel. I know plenty of people with all makes. Now, my truck, currently has little to no smoke. And it hauls ass. VERY safe EGT's. I am making 35 PSI boost if I keep my foot in it. I do not run that consistently, because a stock Ford turbo and intercooler flex boots are reliable to about 25 PSI. This is fact on a 7.3 engine. Now, my de-fueling is located in my head. I atch the EGT gauge like a hawk. I drive/live by the guages. If the EGT is approaching 1250-1300 degrees, it's simple, back out of it. Banks does this for you. I don't need it. For a simple, bolt on kit with no worries, Banks is the shit. For the "masses". For me, and anyone with half a brain, you can accomplish the same thing, at half the cost. Now, I am at a little under a $1200 investment in my truck, and for another $400 in a turbo housing, and impellar wheel, I will be able to smoke about any Diesel I come up against. ANd certainly anyone running a Banks kit. Once I get enough $ for a new tranny, (mine is still fine, but I am planning ahead) I will be sending my chip back for new programming. more power in the upper 2 stages, and I will dump off my 50 and 75 settings. I don't need them. I hauled a 10,000 equipment trailer in the 100 HP setting, and NEVRER once had to back out of it. I had the pedal to the floor, accelerating up some pretty steep grades, to see what she'd do. I was as I was pulling 90+ MPH easily. ANd stil had plenty more to go. The truck flat out rips. I can't wait to get it on a dyno. To see what it is pulling. It is insane. I ran a mustang on the way backfrom Long Island this weekend, with a 4,000# deckover 25' trailer unloaded and I laid a whoopin on him. I have yet to runmy buddies Banks 6.0L. I am interested to see what will happen. I am fairly positive that I will smoke him. ANd I know I will take my neighbors Banks 7.3 next weekend. Different strokes for different folks. I KNOW I can put something together better Banks. Not in the "power for the masses" sense. But for MY truck. Banks is commercialized. They can't put something in the truck knowing there may ba a possible danger. The only thing Banks gives that I can't get cheaper is de-fueling. And I don't want it. Don't need it, and there are better ways out there to make power from a diesel........
  5. HOw is it "bullshit" that Haliburton was the original contractor used in the first Gulf war? IMHO, and ALOT of others, it is the only logical choice to go in there and handle it. There isn't a single other American company that can organize and handle the magnitude of the operation that is going on over there. Whether or not I agree that we should be over there re-building is besides the point. (I don't think we should be there rebuilding BTW, we should be cleaning house) There is shit over there that ONLY that company should be dealing with. And just because the top officials in government are tied to this company, suddenly it's wrong? WHat if CEJ is contracted with the LARGEST parts contract for the country ever amassed, and then 4-8 years, he get's elected president. Suddenly, it's a conflict of interest? Nonsense. Haliburton was used before, and they will be used again, untill someone else steps to the plate that can handle the job. Meat, Please don't take this as a flame to you. It is just my thoughts on the whole Haliburton situation..... And facts as well.
  6. Well, either photoshop them in, or I can send ya some, being that I live in, well, Buffalo..... And let me tell you, they don't call them Buffalo wings for no reason. I can't find good wings ANYWYERE except Buffalo. Same goes for a good pizza..... Shizzle..... I'm bringing the deep fryer, sauce, and about 200 #'s of wings to Roostfest.... We'll all get a good eat on...... And Jim, I every time I see your shit. Fuckin' slick my man. And this country is getign what the unions have had coming to them for a long time...... We have been overpaid for a looooooooong time.... I realize outsourcing jobs is not a good thing, but dammit man, 50K a year for collecting tolls? 80K a year for driving the mayor around? In a 80K Lexus???? please...... Government and politics is what is running this place into the ground....... Too many "bullshit" jobs taking away $$ that could be spent elsewhere........ And needless wars too. Find the fuckers, get them, hang 'em high, and get rid of that sandbox..... Quit pussy-footin around..... My goes out to the men &women that are serving right now. God bless..... Too much shit being drug out too damned long.......... I'd rather be pissed off than pissed on......
  7. It's about time you got rid of that useless Banks shit....
  8. Indeed. Ask away!!! I can tell ya, pretty much, alot of things you may want for the new rig, Scott can provide for you. (in the power department, anyways....) I juiced the 7.3 up quite a bit, and it is like a drug. Actually, like a Banshee. sooo much to friggin do, and so little $$$.... You will LOVE the new 6.0. Especially the '05....... They RIP!!!!!
  9. You can figure out the conversion. 1mm=.0394" So, .25mm=.00985", or .010" overbore..... Ask the shop that did the work. They should be able to tell you
  10. Well, I am into some things. Right now, I am a design Engineer, working for a printing company, that is a wholesaler for promotional products. www.aakronrule.com I design and build their production machinery. Automated, high speed shit. From the ground up. I am not the guy that designs it, hands the prints off, and goes on my way. I design it, cut the frame, weld it, and design and build the ENTIRE machine. From machining pats, to putting them on, to building an electrical panel, and writing the motion programs, PLC programs, etc....... I also maintain all the inhouse machinery, with the other 4 of us in the shop. Pretty fun ,and challenging job. I also run my own landscaping/lawn mowing service. I started that this year. Next year, I will be purchasing a mini excavator, and a skid steer, to further my capabilities in the field. On the weekends, I bartend, at a local hot spot called the Filling Station Saloon. It is a fun job. And keeps me from spending $$ in bars. People buy me drinks all damn night long.... And they pay me too!!! In the winter, I teach Skiing. A local resort found at www.kissing-bridge.com . My day(s) are full. My nights are too. I love everything I do. Oh yea, on the side, I design and build truck suspensions when i can. Or, just install off the shelf stuff.....
  11. You work for harrison? In lockport? I am near there... Too near.... I do ALOT of "government" jobs at work. I have rebuilt carbs numerous times, I build EVERYTHING at work.
  12. You are correct, however there Mr. map engineer, there is also a Vancouver in Washington. Click HERE to see what's up.....
  13. Yup, here in buffalo, we get them nasty blizzards.... (or so they say). I'll take a blizzard any day over all the nasty shit that goes on elsewhere...... I have 2 Aunts that live in Washington. Vancouver I believe. DOn't know where that is in respect to this volcano though....
  14. Well, the sweet tart you speak of, ummmm, it isn't with jager. A sweet Tart is Southern Comfort and Red Bull. Jager bomb is Jager and red bull. Cherry bomb is Three olives cherry vodka and red bull. Yummy!!! Anyways, a good drink is some "Down on Dan". A little concoction I invented one night at the bar I sling drinks at. You need a "shaker" for this. Or, a large glass will do fine. One shot of each unless noted. Vodka peach schnapps grenadine- 2 shots sloe gin southern comfort apple pucker cherry pucker- 2 shots watermelon pucker grape pucker island blue pucker triple sec- 2 shots cranberry juice orange juice pineapple juice Lemme tell ya boyz and girls, this is one fantastic drink. You can make it as a drink, or just pour ya about 15 shots worth....... It tastes like hawaian punch. My drink of choice: Jack and 7-up, or a crown and 7-up Or, Yuengling....
  15. You NEED to get yaself a Clymer service manual. Available anywhere Yamaha parts are found, for about $20. On the splitting of the case(s), there aren't really any "special" tools needed, just some know-how..... You need to get the clutch assembly off, the top end, and a few other things. flywheel comes to mind, so therefore you WILL NEED a flywheel puller. NOT a jaw style puller that you have laying in the garage. This needs to be the thread in type. Check out MEAT's SITE on the engine stuff, and there are some pics of the "special" things that need to be done.....
  16. Legend? Too bad everyone and their sister and/or mother has one...... I'd take the lightning.....
  17. Why??? I don't understand? Anyways, yea, useless stories. I was bored, and needed something to pass the time. Well, I got back this afternoon. I survived the fiasco on Red Bull, coffee, Mountain Dew, and Lunch at Taco Bell. The truck performed flawlessly. Not one problem pulling some steep grades at 90+ MPH with the 10K load. Nothing passed me, when I had the truck loaded, or on the way back. I was in heaven. Except for the damned turbo chatter. Kind of pissed me off. Surge with anything below 1900 RPM and rollin the throttle on. Dude liked the Dodge, and I found out he owns a car dealership in Jersey, and will be re-selling it. Oh well. It's out of my hands. And he got a SMOKIN deal for that truck. Walter, thanks again my man. The Ford is loking better and better every day. And with my newfound wealth, perhaps some tires may be in the future..... I didn't get a chance to go ride today, it was raining when I got home. Maybe tomorrow...... Walt, I wanted to come on up, but the guy that went with me, had prior engagements he had to be back for..... Which got messed up anyways, when we were waiting for the George Washington Bridge traffic, we were stuck there for 3.5 hours. All to go less than 2.5 miles. Fuckn' traffic was ridiculous. ANd them people are plain crazy. I think they were worse than Massachussetts drivers. Or even Jersey drivers....
  18. Well, I am off in a few hours to deliver the Dodge, to it's new owner in Long Island. Today went a little haywire, as I was putting my new exhaust on the truck, (thanks Sredish!!) I "slipped" with the sawzall, and nicked the transmission cooler line. Well, needless to say, a mess ensued.... After searching for a new line, I just used a compression fitting, and spliced 'er back together. Got the new chip in the truck, new exhaust, and new intake. I hope to make some good time in the hot rod Diesel, but we'll see how the NYC traffic goes.... I am a little about getting rid of the Dodge, kind of like geting rid of a shee. But, there will be another one sometime..... Somewhere...... Hopefully all goes well, and if I get back early enough, and the weather is alright, I'm goin ridin'!!!! I haven't been inawhile.... Sorry for the useless story, but I'm just bored...... Have a good weekend peeps.
