  1. I cant understand what me and the wife are really doing wrong. We dont go and blow money like crazy, only have one credit card, got a cheap trailer house with free rent, (on wifes grandparents land) almost paid for, our 2 of our 3 veh. are paid for, (70' Chevelle, 97' Escort, and the 04' Chevy truck... not paid off yet). We got a small loan to help while I was at college which was less than $1,000. We have full coverage on everything we own, the escort because of the small loan, chevelle cause the house is on it and the truck and the house since either are not paid for. I am down in the dumps, and feel guilty for even going out to eat at Mcdonalds once a week. ( i eat sandwich's for lunch, the past 2 years.) We dont expect alot, but want to have fun be happy and give the best for our 16 month old daughter. The hard part was yesterday when i seen we were $200 over drawn. I I graduated college 3 months ago and had a 3.55 gpa or so and got an associates in applied science. (Not the best but more than most my friends got, that still live at home...) Trying to get my wife into college cause she is wanting to be a dental hygentist like my mom. Anyone got the same problems? any input would help, wife and i both work 45+ hrs a week.
  2. Cool post, does anybody know exactly what caliber round they are shooting? Id like to see some get shot with the new .17 HMR round. Go to www.varmital.com I think and then go to the .17 HMR testing site. They basically blew a diet coke can up in a video with that round. They were punchin some decent holes in the prairie dogs too.
  3. Thanks for all the useful input guys. 661x heads? I am not familiar with those, can i get someone to shine some light on this.
  4. First off I was reading the thread the other day and a guy was doing a frame off resto on his bike. The topic of gussets came up. Now, what are they and what are there purpose? Looks like to me that they are pieces of plate welded into the frame between joints to stiffen the frame up. Is that correct, if not, correct me. Also while I was at college someone told me that a crotch rocket could outrun a banshee. (Not top speed, but like in a block or two.) Anyone know some e.t. times to prove this is true or otherwise? Also, anyone here use Limewire, Kazaa, etc.? I am having trouble connecting to either one at work. I am on a LAN but dont know how to see if I am firewall protected. Any ideas? What protocal to use, etc. I got a motor built for my 70 Chevelle but it has shit ass heads on it. (882 casting) I know where there are vortec heads but I need to know what casting # are the better set, there are a couple that dont flow for nothin on exhaust side. Thanks.
  5. Hey guys just curious on what you guys do for a living and if there is anything exciting at your work place. Im a mechanic at Marc Heitz in Norman, OK and we are pretty well dead right now but this rich guy brought in his new H2 Hummer and we put free flowing exhaust on it. (Headers, new cat and free flow muffler.) Now, this same guy dropped off his new Dodge Viper SRT/10 and wants us to do the same thing! I cant believe the money people have! (and the money i dont have.) Anyway, we have put superchargers, gears, etc. on Avalanches, etc. Makes for an interesting ride. Post your jobs, etc. Phil
  6. I'm a mechanic at Marc Heitz Chevy in Norman, OK, and i own a mac box, mostly snap-on tools but im leaning more and more toward Cornwell. They are just as good as snap-off without the price tag. Own lots of Huskies at the house, decent all around tools. Not for the every day mechanic though.
  7. That is so cool how all of you are giving this guy so much helpful tips, info, etc. I just cant wait till I get me a banshee. Kind of a long story, always loved em, etc. just never been fortunate enough to have one. I think me and the wife are going to get one within the next year. My wifes mom and dad have a couple of cars that are sittin at their farm that they gave us and they both need quite a bit of work. But I figure dump about $200-300 getttin them running right and sell em for $1,000 a piece then we can make a nice down payment on a banshee. My younger bro. owns one (14yrs. old w/ an 03' shee.) Question, would you rather buy a new one or get a used one with everything done to it? Good thing is that my wife wants one as bad as I do. We are from the Oklahoma City area. Philip
  8. Quite possible me and the wife may meet my family up there that weekend. (Mom, Dad, and Brother, maybe his girlfriend too.) I'll have to let you know when the time gets sooner. I'd like to do a lot of night riding. We all went down there like 2 weeks ago. Wasnt that fun for some reason. The first time was better. Holler back later. Phil
