Hell yeah That's pretty cool, especially bein' the first time quads have raced there, sounds like Natalie had a bad race but that number one plate's gotta take the sting out of it heh. -

Flywheel is sold. Dyna is sold. I'll probably run the cylinders and crank on ebay tomorrow... -

716pro, yes I have the complete clutch assembly, but no I don't have the idler gear. I'm gonna use the RZ clutch basket, the Banshee one is for sale but has some wear on the fingers (normal wear no damage, I can take pics if you want), all the gear teeth look perfect. Have the whole clutch as an assembly (basket, all plates, pressure plate, cover, even cushion rings haha), or the basket alone if you want it that way, make me an offer. -
Yep cost is gonna be my limiting factor, I got no probs getting time off or making it there, sounds like a blast especially the one led by Greg Row and Dean Sundahl (guess that's a one-time deal??). I'd like to take my son and his Blasty, that might help get the price down the bigger the group, but if it's in the fall I'll hafta work around school schedule also...anyway I'm in if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg...

Thanks NYUK! Whiteboarder, I think I spun the clutch side outer bearing on the crank, the little tit that is supposed to keep the outer race from moving is gone and there's evidence on the upper case that it turned. It's from my '96 and I've never had any probs, but I would rebuild it to be on the safe side. Holyman I think BdBanshee already wants the flywheel, if not it's yours. Got someone else interested in the harness, but what I did is rewire the handlebar kill switch to operate the Dyna. What it does is complete the circuit between 2 of the 3 wires between the CDI and the dip-switch box, when the Dyna senses that it reverts to the "top end" curve, when the circuit isn't complete it uses whatever curve you have selected at the switchbox. I just added a pushbotton kill swtich below that to torn off the motor. BTW the Dyna is sold, and most likely the stator also... -

Thanks John I appreciate it, ya think I'm better off bundling the tranny with the drum, rails & forks together or split 'em up like I got em, or even more? How do you usually do those parts? -
I didn't use Blasty pegs but moved mine back 2", well worth the effort I think, especially with some kickups at the end of the pegs, mine work great and I wouldn't go back to stock. sg30721 I run old DG nerfs that mount to the two footpeg bolts so I had no issues with nerf mounting...

To increase the compression take the head to a machine shop and have them shave .030" off the gasket surface (assuming it's stock and hasn't already been shaved, and you'll need to remove the water neck first-just 2 bolts). I love cheap hp, 2 strokes have no competition there...and the basics are all the same. As mentioned, increasing compression, increasing airflow, advancing timing, and lightening reciprocating mass (and any other nonessential crap on the quad) are the way to go, since you already have pipes & filter you can: Shave the head Advance timing (degree key or slot the stator plate yourself) Reeds & cages (you can port your stock cages) Dial in the jetting (jets are cheap) Polish the exhaust port Smooth out castings on intake ports (not polished) Break it in carefully

Someone lemme know if these prices are outta line, probably try ebay next week... -
Damn it's close to 500 miles either way, Anadarko isn't really any closer than Waynoka. Fuck it, I'm still gonna try it heh, gonna try to make the atvccs race Labor Day weekend and HQfest the first weekend of October, IF my shit's running by then. Scott you gonna make it to the Anadarko race for sure? Dunno if you're interested but the nmdrc Carlsbad race is set for September 25/26...

That ain't no lie, I priced a couple things for grins; cylinders $761 for a pair and crank $776 IMO the Ricky Stator is a better unit, and it helps to plug that hole in the case between the stator and the front sprocket to keep water & debris outta there. BTW when my stator failed it wasn't intermittant (it was all or none, didn't depend on RPM or load), not saying it's out of the realm of possibility but it sounds more like a carb problem than electrical, I'd start there and rule it out before swapping electrical parts out (aside from fresh spark plugs). Even tho I have an RS stator for sale in the for sale forum heh. As for both carbs overflowing, I'd pull them and check the float needles for dirt. It's possible something either got past the fuel tank strainers or the strainer fell off completely (mine have) and let shit get into the carbs, that might explain why they both overflow at once. Good luck.

I just bought my son a clean '04 a few months ago, all stock internals and I got 130 psi...we're at 3500' so if you're closer to sea level it should be higher.

Dude I think you're right hahaha!! I saw the Outlaw online the other day, it does look like it's geared towards woods/trails and that extra ground clearance damn sure won't hurt there, along with the IRS for the really nasty stuff. I bet it's competitive in GNCC's, but that's gonna be a trial of fire... It's a cool design but I prefer a simple solid axle and straight chain drive; lighter, less shit to break, etc. Plus I REALLY don't need one more shock to worry about heh.

Stock crank, stock transmission. Crank is in good shape, factory bearings, good for a core. Transmission looks perfect, no gear or shaft damage. Asking $100 shipped for the crank, $100 shipped for the tranny. Stock shift drum with star, forks and rails. All perfect condition, asking $50 shipped. Complete (more or less) electrical system. Ricky Stator stock output stator, bought it from Sheeya in November of '03, was new in the box then, works perfect. Dyna FS adjustable ignition (not programmable, it has 4 curves you can select from that will advance the timing roughly 4 degrees in the low, mid, or top end, and one stock curve), got it new in August of '01 for $250 and it has worked perfectly ever since. Stock flywheel, uncut, perfect condition. Stock voltage regulator, works perfect. Stock wiring harness and handlebar switch assembly; TORS connectors all cut off, key switch connector jumpered, rewired handlebar kill switch to switch curves on the Dyna, and added pushbutton kill switch. Harness works perfect, no probs with it. Asking, I dunno $285 shipped for the whole ball of wax, or $150 shipped for the CDI, $75 shipped for the stator, $20 shipped for the flywheel, and $40 shipped for the wiring harness. That all adds up to $735, if somebody wanted everything I'd take $500 shipped. Let me know if these prices are way off, make me an offer on any or all of it and I'll consider it. All prices include UPS Ground/Standard shipping, anywhere worldwide. I can do Next Day or Second Day if you need it, might hafta tack on a little bit for freight but not much. Everything I've got is in good shape and works perfectly, if for any reason you're not satisfied I'll refund your money (call it within 7 days, I know I'll spend it after that heh), AND pay the return freight. The only reason I'm selling this stuff is to help pay for the RZ motor conversion, otherwise I'd still be racing this setup (with a fresh topend obviously, and rebuild the crank). If you're on the good guy list or regular HQ'er I got no probs shipping it first and you send payment when you get it and check it out. I'll consider trades also, here's some stuff I'm looking for: Long Rod crank, welded & rebuilt Delta V-Force 2 or 3 complete 28mm carbs, D-slide would be nice Rocket/PTR pipes & silencers (need to clear them powervalves) Round housing swingarm Steering stabilizer Stock or desert seat complete Long travel 250R geometry rolling frame (I'll throw in a kidney for that one) One last thing, I've got a complete clutch off the '85 RZ I was going to keep for a spare, if anybody needs one I can get pics, make an offer; basket, all plates, pressure plate, rod, ball, etc. -
Ok past the point of no return on the RZ conversion, I need to sell these parts off my '96. Could really use the money, or what I'm looking for in trades (see below), or if anybody is in a bind for this stuff let me know and I'll try to hook you up. Figure I'll run it here a week, then ebay for a week. Here's what I've got: Stock cylinders, stock porting, 20 over and need a fresh bore (roughly 240 hours since last topend). I lost 30 psi on the right side but there are no visible scratches on the bore (piston took the damage), can't feel any damage, bore them to the next size and you're good to go. These jugs are clean and all the gasket surfaces spotless. Asking $200 shipped.
