  1. Uhhhh...ok Here's an exerpt from tshirthell.com's newsletter heh, with an interview w/Tom (click here):
  2. HOLY FUCK!! 149 mph with the front end riding on...ROLLERBLADES????????
  3. Exactly. Been there. I'm no stranger to pain, I've been married. Mine pulled the same shit...threats and head games have no place in a relationship IMHO. Unless you're into that kinda thing... The way I see it you're lookin' at one of two things: 1. She wants to wear the pants so to speak, she gets her way on this issue and next thing you know you're drivin' a Yugo and having your paycheck direct deposited into her hats & manicure fund. 2. She sincerely cares about your health & well-being and stupidly thought a threat of divorce would make you see it her way, in this case it's a simple matter of talking it out to reach a compromise and along the way establish that it ain't cool to draw the line like that. Good luck
  4. I get those emails all the time; some *****s phishing for suckers to give 'em bank account info under the ruse of claiming an inheritence or some shit. I usually get ones from Africa tho, some imaginary country in the dark continent, you'd be surprised how many desperate would-be millionaires out there need your help to transfer their funds, and are more than willing to cut ya in
  5. You sure it's not the kickstarter? Banshees are notorious for that, it could also be clutch chatter, which is fairly normal. Beyond that I'd start tearing it down until you find it; could be water pump bearing, tranny bearing, crank bearing, etc. etc.
  6. I finally got to read this article (thanks Chris, I tried not to drool on it the mag or the Powerstroke heh), kinda skimpy on the motor details but some nice pics...just to clarify the "test" riders are Dana Creech and Jason Lubergh (sp?), both pro-level riders and Bomb Squad freestylers, and yes Wes Miller of Quatros Locos/Huevos Grandes/Huevos 2-8 fame (and long-time racer, still does Baja races with Creech, last time on a Jagermeister-sponsored YFZ450) is the one that built the beast...not slow dudes by any stretch of the imagination, or Dirtwheels flunkies, if they say it's fast (and DW didn't take too many liberties on the quotations), it's borderline INSANE
  7. About 200 miles, I lived in Cruces for a while way back in the day, had a damn good time
  8. If you're in a bind, reuse it; hose it down with some of that Copper coat shit and torque it down, chances are with that few hours on it, it'll be fine. As others have said though, they are relatively cheap and you're better off with a new one...
  9. I had about a 1" gash in the side of a Holeshot that took 5 or 6 plugs...but I just ran it to the end of that race, it never really would hold air. If the tread is still really good it would be worth takin' to a tire shop and trying a boot (one of those patch things), if they are worn I'd just get a new set...
  10. I'm not sure how the Cheetah powervalves work, but I'd like to hear it from somebody that knows. Aren't they vacuum-operated? My RZ is electric; it's got a little servo motor that operates the powervalve via cables...
  11. That's cool!
  12. Have a good one!!!
  13. There's a small 1/4" line that runs from the center rear of the motor (top case half right between the motor mount castings) forward to a tee (usually between the carbs); from the tee forward the line typically goes forward up and over a frame rail and ends above the right expansion chamber, from the tee down the line runs into the clutch cover near the radiator hose, to a little nipple just below the water pump (on RZ motors this is where the oil injection pump mounted). Normally you don't ever have any oil in those lines, they just allow for air to be displaced from the tranny as the gear oil heats up and expands/cools off and contracts.
  14. Anybody heard from Holyman lately?? He rebuilt mine a year or two ago and it's still like new; hell I can't even remember if it was just a new bolt or a larger ball & spring as well...
  15. Damn that's just wrong...those two terms don't EVEN belong in the same sentence...
  16. I really don't know what the 5th wire is for, but it'll run without it; Brad from Dyna posted what it was waaaay back in the day but I forget if it was TORS-related or what...I ran a '97-up Dyna on my '96, just swapped connectors, best I can remember the 5th wire on that CDI was purple, but like I said I taped it off and she ran perfect without it
  17. Rocky Mountain ATV has CR-style pushbutton kill switches, I run that (and a Pro Design tether), cake to wire: on the harness going to the handlebar kill/light switch housing connect switch ground to black and switch "hot" to black/white. To run your lights all the time connect yellow on the wiring harness side of that same switch housing to either yellow (hi beams) or green (low beams) on the switch side...easy way is connect yellow to yellow at the connector.
  18. Dierks Bentley has some good stuff, and Blake Shelton...but the new one from Godsmack, "Godsmack IV" comes out like April 24th I'll be hittin' iTunes for that one
  19. Same deal with a buddy's Banshee, blown RH crank seal, puked oil like crazy out the vent tube and when he pulled that side pipe there was about half a quart of tranny oil in it... Definitely start with the little stuff first; lines, tees, etc.
  20. Another vote for PRM, great guys to deal with and awesome products; I've put my belly plate and swingarm z-plate through hell and back and they've held up perfect.
  21. Damn, fer a minute there I thought there was gonna be some Banshee action heh, I just picked up Huevos 8 last weekend and haven't had a chance to scope it out yet...
  22. I was Al Bundy HAVE A GOOD ONE LED!!!
  23. Same here...I had no idea there were two different RZ head styles out there. And stupid me polished the one I had before I sent it to Dan, it's now adorning my garage wall, luckily he had one of the "right" ones layin' around (not sure the exact technical difference but the one I didn't use had a much wider squish band and a smaller pocket). I do need to find another one though, some of my desert races are at 6000-9000' elevation...
