  1. Damn and it's Cinco de Mayo too, another reason to raise that glass! Happy birthdays!!
  2. Have a good one John!!!!
  3. Gotta love the Texas chili, just need one fer New Mexico chile heh. Hadn't heard that one Wheatchex haha, gots ta be politically correct
  4. I used to get 2 hours or so on the stock tank, now with 5.5 gal I could probably go 3...but that's riding hard, like shee wants to be ridden...if I was idling and poking around in 2nd gear shee'd prolly run alot longer
  5. I agree, that's what I'd try first...
  6. Definitely test the stator first, everything you need to know is in the Electrical FAQ below. Personally I'd go with a Ricky Stator stator instead of another OEM, and unless you really need that much wattage a stock output is just as good...
  7. Have a good one BdBanshee!!!
  8. Happy birthday Toomey!!
  9. Here's a quick and dirty one Scott: I just got an assload of new fonts with some software, wish I could post my own card but it's not an image format...hafta scan it I guess.
  10. Hmmm tough one. The way you say it just cut off and didn't wanna start sounds electrical...but after 20 kicks I'd think the plugs would be soaked. All you need for it to run is fuel, air, compression, and spark at the right time. The symptoms don't sound like compression (it would be hard to start cold, wouldn't just die on ya when hot, etc.). If you've got fuel in the bowls, it's a pretty good bet you got fuel to the combustion chamber... I guess I'd start with fresh plugs, go over the wiring harness and check for any loose connectors or wires rubbed through against the frame, ride close to the house and see if you can duplicate the problem, and check for spark as soon as it happens again. At least that way you can eliminate electrical. As for fuel, you can double check that the mains are clear, and pull the pilots and make sure they aren't clogged. If there's any debris at all in the float bowls check the strainers on the fuel petcock inside the tank. Unless you actually run out of fuel or there's a complete blockage of the fuel line, it doesn't sound like a jetting problem; if it was lean it would rev waaaay up, rich would foul the plugs but you'd see them real wet. Even if the airscrews are way way off it wouldn't just die on ya like that. Double check the simple stuff (petcock on, both switches on, try the choke, fuel tank full, etc.) too, we've all done that shit. Good luck.
  11. Oilsmoke I dunno if they make a matching brake lever, I know they have "Dominator" or something stock replacement levers with the rubberized grip, but so far I haven't ever seen them in shorty like I want. Hell the MSR webpage still shows the old Raptor clutch lever so I dunno for sure. MILO, RMA says that for liability reasons, because you'll be eliminating the parking brake. Yeah I agree ASV makes some damn fine levers, but I've never folded a lever forward, and the pivot needle bearing alone on this one made it well worth the money, not to mention the easy-pull setting...had a 42-mile desert race last weekend and it worked flawlessly.
  12. Kermit is damn sure worth the trip, especially if ya get to ride with Kevin heh (bit of advice-wear yer goggles and keep your mouth shut hahaha some serious roost). Also near El Paso is a place called Red Sands, on Highway 54 going towards Alamogordo. The NM Desert Racing Club runs the Tarantula 100 race there (this year it was in Feb), some good sandy trails (not sandy enough for paddles) and miles of whoops. There's supposedly some woods trails near Cloudcroft, NM but I haven't made it there yet, sounds like it would be better on a utility (kinda narrow) but I still want to check it out someday, nice country.
  13. Haha hardly! There's a really small diameter, short spring on my triple rates, think these desert racing whoops and braking bumps just beat the shit out of them...mebbe I need to fatten up and then I could run a heavier spring
  14. Damn a day late, hope ya had a good one John!!
  15. Damn those Pro "G" series look badass, I need to ask 'em about those. Works told me the list price on the Black Widows was $1039 for fronts, $839 for remote rezzy rear and $779 for piggyback rezzy rear... On a side note the guys at Works have helped me out several times (Oscar in service hooked me up when I broke a couple springs, for no charge even before I got any sponsorship), some good people to deal with.
  16. I was wonderin' the same thing, mebbe Chris will get 'em out before the next race hahaha I know Laura was takin' pics, I didn't get out the camcorder since Juaquin's girl had one...
  17. Got one of these yesterday, $45 from RMA: http://www.rockymountainatv.com/Product_De...tv?pid=00109835 Couldn't be happier with it, had to replace my old MSR Raptor which served me well, but the new one is twice as nice. Needle bearing on the lever pivot, a much improved adjuster (instead of just pivoting you can set the angle to match the lever pull), THICK aluminum on the perch & lever where it needs to be beefy, a plastic protector/boot to cover the pivot, same three different pull settings, and the same rubberized lever (got mine in shorty again). With a fresh clutch cable it feels...fluid.
  18. Good posts ssanddemon. Ducman I went with straight T.M. Designworks (lifetime warranty I think) for both rollers, the swingarm slider, and the rear chain guide (I got the single roller one made to fit with a PRM swingarm skidplate). Speaking of the drive system, a case saver is a good investment, just thought I'd mention that after seeing another bad broken case this weekend (not mine heh). Anyway I've got about 270 hours and over 3 years on the swingarm slider and it still looks damn near new, I would highly recommend T.M., I don't foresee having to replace mine for a loooong time, if ever.
  19. LOL!! That dude had the right idea hahaha!
  20. This one gets my vote, with "bansheehq.com" across the back shoulders, natch: CLICK!!!!! Check out all the other sick as fuck t-shirts here, I just found my new wardrobe (and my god don't miss the tshirt hell whore section!!) http://www.tshirthell.com/ Oh I might mention you'll probably be offended lol, but it's still a good laugh...
  21. Yeah it was a great time, was good to meet ya and see what Texas cross-country is like heh. They have the times posted already, just waitin' for the pics. I remember that nasty uphill/rut thing, you weren't the only one that had trouble, I passed a guy there that took out that bush on the outside of the turn. BansheeJen I don't think I had a chance to meet you at the race (or did I?? sorry still recovering from the race and long drive home). That sucks but hopefully at the next one, I was kinda pressed for time on this weekend. I still had a good time and liked the track, it's like nothing else I've been on, can't wait to see the next course.
  22. Bradrs, just curious, what is the 5th wire for??
  23. It sounds most like a failing coil, I'd test it or have a shop bench test it and see. When my CDI went out it was sudden and complete failure; it wouldn't start at all. When my stator went out it was similar but later found a broken connector that could have let it run part of the time if the connection was just right (your stator could be an outside possibility, I'd test that too). It could also just be the plug wire from the coil, check the one that's bad and see if it has continuity and a good connection at both ends. Good luck.
