  1. If it fires up you're halfway there; next just make sure the PV's operate. You should be able to see the PV motor flick when you hit high RPM's (it'll rotate and pull the PV cables). If it does that you're good, the PV wiring itself is pretty straighforward, there's the 5 wires that go from the controller to the motor, then there's ground, signal from CDI (either black/yellow or red/white depending on the year) and brown from the volt reg/master "on" switch (again you have to connect red to brown for the PV's to work in the absence of a key switch). Other than that make sure there's NO slack in the PV cables; line up the notch on the plastic cable thing with the hole behind it (LH cylinder), and adjust the cables so there is no free play at all...
  2. I think they are pretty nice quads, just from the specs (mmm EFI, nice 'n wide) and eyeballin' them. I haven't thrown a leg over one but there are a couple racing the desert races here this season...the only thing I can say for sure is that A) I blew by one of them sixth gear pinned on a straightaway and it was like he was parked (just a guess but with stock gearing/18" rears their 5th and top gear is about equal to a Banshee's 5th gear) and they've either got a tiny fuel tank or suck gas pretty well, one of them ran out of gas before the 80-mile mark, actually it was closer to 60 miles I believe. Maybe he didn't fill it all the way up, I dunno, Josh's EFI Cannondale gets insane milage, what like 400 mpg?! Not that much but he never has to pit for fuel...
  3. Happy Birthday!! For once I'm not two days late heh
  4. Here's what I used to wire mine, about all that's missing from this chopped-down diagram is the in-line fuses...also I wired both a tether and pushbutton kill switch from black to black/white for the engine stop switch, and instead of a key switch I used a master on/off rocker switch where it says "main switch" (between red and brown-if you don't connect those two it'll run but the PV's won't work): Here's an original wiring diagram I color coded the essential stuff for: Good luck, if ya run into any snags let us know...
  5. Well fuck Stan, welcome to tha club heh Some damn good advice here and I know you're gonna make it through this and be WAY better off than before, believe me man it's all good from here on out. Remember you've got friends that do give a shit about ya and your Banshee bretheren aren't gonna let you down. You need something just say the word. And yeah you can count on the cunt to be reading your posts, or having them relayed to her, my ex did and may still, just watch your back until all ties are severed. Trust me dude you're gonna learn from this and be a better man because of it. Don't get down just keep in mind that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger; you'll be better able to see the conniving bitches comin' and steer clear (or just fuck their brains out and say buh-bye heh), you'll gain a whole new appreciation for those that DO treat you right too. I know I'm saying shit you already know or has already been said, but sometimes every little bit helps, sometimes just knowing you've got buds that aren't gonna betray you makes a difference, sometimes just hearin' that we think you're a damn good man and shit just happened helps. Take it easy brotha.
  6. Oldschool here too, damn I miss TT...
  7. That's right, they are great guys to deal with too, call 'em up. I had a couple torn paddles on my Haulers, only a few months old, I sent them back and they returned a set of brand new Extreme Haulers, never had a problem breakin' them since. If you're in Aus I could see the shipping being kinda spendy, might save some weight/$$$ taking the tires off the rims, I'm guessing UPS would be your best bet...
  8. Sweet Godsmack "No Rest For the Wicked" gets my vote
  9. Have a good one John!!
  10. I hate working on four strokes...wierd on the compression readings though, have you pulled off the cylinder to see if there's any rings on the piston?
  11. HAVE A GOOD ONE LEE!!!!
  12. Yeah same here...ya got my vote but DAMN:
  13. Same here but I just ordered 'em from Ronnies with some other stuff, didn't think I'd find any countersunk metric screws around here (guessing 4mm x 1.0 but not sure).
  14. YES the airscrews are still important, you don't eliminate them with the TORS elimination kit (they are the little brass screws just rear of the fuel line intake on the carbs, kinda upper left of each carb). The airscrews control the air/fuel mixture from idle up, but have the most impact on idle to about 1/8 throttle. IF you installed the whole TORS elimination kit, you put idle screws in both carbs; the ones you drilled & tapped for. These only control idle speed, not the mixture. There's a difference. Ok so if all you did was install the kit and no other mods, and the jetting was relatively good before ya did it, your airscrews are likely ok, you just need to make sure there's no air leaks from takin' off the carbs (just in case), and then set the idle speed with the idle screws. Note that sometimes you'll need to file off about 1/8"-1/4" of material from the carb body where the nut on the idle screw bottoms, if you don't file it down past flat the screw won't go in far enough to raise the slide (the tip of the idle screw hits a ramp on the slide and raises it to simulate more throttle, thereby increasing the idle speed). From your post it does sound like your airscrews are a little rich, but I would start by setting the idle speed first so it won't die when you let off the throttle, then adjust the airscrews a half turn at a time until it idles clean and revs smooth right off idle. Good luck.
  15. Your gearing will be taller with the 22's, going to a 13T front will get you back pretty close. I think this spreadsheet is still online, just change the shaded cells and look at the top speeds in each gear... http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/speed.xls
  16. 34 and lovin' it
  17. EXACTLY!! Along with cold refreshments. And babes. I'd give my left nut to have my girlfriend cruisin' a Rhino when we go out...I can see it now, I'd have that beast loaded with fuel, ice chests, a grill, an ez-up, some lawn chairs, and a 1000W stereo... Then when the kids aren't around throw down a blanket or bend her over on the hood hahaha Yep that's what I run, it's the only way to fly on long distance rides/races. Blow through the pits without getting fuel. Yes the 5.5 when full is heavy as fuck but the longer ya ride the lighter it gets heh. I was surprised that it doesn't "feel" big when you're riding, first time out I didn't even notice any difference, it's not really any wider than the stocker. IMS also makes a 4 gallon tank, but it's only marginally bigger, I'd go for the fiver, and given the choice the Clarke looks better IMHO.
  18. ...midgets
  19. Not me, this is the first thing that pops into my mind...but that's just me
  20. Damn Matt how deep didja dig for this one?!!
  21. I think the "offical" results are screwed...they only show my times for 3 laps, I did 4 WTF??? Not to mention my 2nd lap is like 3 minutes faster than the first, something is up there... Dustin you and Chris gonna get your beastie jetted right? And when are you gonna get the Canny sorted out Josh? Don't wait for the last minute lol!! Terry got his Works spring kit, guess he likes it so far...
