I've been runnin' the XC races in West Texas lately, lotsa fun. Open A that I'm in runs an hour and a half plus a lap, last race in Stanton I did 6 laps on an 8.5 mile course...

I'm still dreamin' about mine with a long travel 250R frame and an RZ motor...I got dibs loco, just might take me 5 years to get there hahaha

It's pretty straightforward, hardest part is getting the old throttle cable ends out of the carb slides and then hangin' the slides on the new cable. You won't need to pull the tank if you get the old one disconnected on both ends, tape the top of the new one to the bottom of the old one, and just pull it through (might hang on the wiring tho, you got a 50/50 chance of it workin' heh). You want to adjust the thumb lever so there's slack in the cable (like 1/8" or so play at the tip of the lever). Don't forget to sync the carbs. It's never a bad idea to change the clutch cable, although I usually hole out until it starts to fray...

Got one with Wipeout Pure, so far I'm impressed it's pretty cool. I dig that screen, had to invest in one of those peel-off protectors for it to make sure it didn't get trashed...

I'd run it and pick up another used stocker to have lightened...mebbe try Fedex this time (either way ya got about a 50/50 chance of 'em launching it out of the truck at a high rate of speed)...

The flywheel shouldn't hit those bolts, are you sure you got the timing plate fully seated against the case? It's kind of a tight fit, you need to make sure the bolts that hold the plate to the case are all the way in, and double check the wiring on the stator so nothing rubs or pinches...

A little, yes. Mine pushes in the corners a little more but it's well worth the tradeoff not havin' to pit halfway through a race, and I'll get my shocks replaced/revalved eventually anyway...

If the black/white wire is grounded anywhere, it'll tell the CDI to shut off (handlebar kill switch uses this one). If the black/red wire is NOT grounded it'll tell the CDI to shut off (key switch uses this one). If the orange wire is cut or grounded, you won't get any fire to the coil. If the red, green, red/white or green/white from the stator are cut or grounding out, the stator won't have fire/won't know when to fire (first two carry current, second two send pickup coil signal, I think). And of course if your ground is bad nothin' works. If I spent 4 hours and got nowhere with an ohmmeter, and you're sure the stator, coil, pickup coil & gap and CDI are ok (which it sounds like it is), I guess I'd open up the wiring harness and look for physical breaks, fab a new one (or section) or just replace it. I don't want a magazine, I'd rather have a wireless device that I could scope out the HQ anywhere, anytime (like takin' a dump, the only place a mag really comes in handy haha). Push is right on, I'd suspect the stator too, and check it with an ohmmeter (got some details on it in the FAQ below). Just a side note, the TORS won't cause a no-spark condition, it will just limit RPM if it detects the e-brake on or the throttle closed (both via switches that commonly fail or get out of adjustment), so if you've bypassed the system by unplugging the control box and have no spark, it's prolly stator, wiring (loose connector or wire grounding to frame), or CDI.
