  1. If you can crack open the carbs and let us know what jets you have in there. It might not be your jetting it might be that you need to go with a higher octane because you might be getting detonation. Also if one side looks good and the other keeps frying you might have an air leak that could be doing it.
  2. What size carbs, what elevation, what size domes are in the cool head, what fuel are you using, do you have a timing plate on and if you do what is it set at? Lets us know as much as you can so we can help you out the best we can
  3. +1 alot of coolant you get at the shop are already premixed with water. Just read the bottle and see
  4. I dont think so. I use Honda coolant. Its already premixed and good to use in bikes. I've been using it for 15 years without any problems. Check the Clymers manual but yeah I think you pull the hose off and open up the drain bolts on the jugs. If you get most of the coolant out and fill it back up with the antifreeze you should be good
  5. If you have engine ice or wetter water in your shee drain it and put antifreeze in it. Drain the gas. Make sure its nice and clean. Make sure the chain is clean and lubed up. Other then that not much.
  6. Lets get it straight. Now the Dems are not doing great but they are coming in after the Reps had control for years. The Dems only took over two years ago after the Reps had already past alot of the crap that they did. Like I said the Dems are not doing great either so dont think I'm sticking up for the crew thats in there now. They took a 4 page bail out bill and turned it into 300 pages so you tell me what the hell they are doing
  7. Good find Daj. Really shows what happened with the election
  8. Let me ask you who passed deregulation measures to allow wall street to go nuts and who lowered the federal intrest rate to create a house price boom that popped. Also the deregulation allowed banks to do the stupid adjustable rate mortages that too many retards in this country bought into
  9. Your somewhat right. It wasnt all him directly but remember he picked his advisors. Also he bankrupted every thing he got into. I'm pretty sure he took down two oil companies and a baseball team before he became president. Your right that congress didnt help any with adding all the extra crap they add to these bills they are passing. The people he picked for his cabinet screwed up alot also.
  10. Alot of guys are running JJH needles. Besides the idle issue are you having other problems?
  11. Set it in the middle and adjust from there
  12. The mains are about right. Try pulling the chokes and see if it idles better or worse. I think if it idles better you need to go up on the pilot. Correct me if I'm wrong on this guys
  13. What is the deal? You said it idles high but you fixed it. So what are you having a problem with?
  14. On bikes I've found that landing a little more front down makes the landings a lot smoother. Is it that the jumps are kicking you up when you get to the top of the jump? I think you just need to practice. Go hit the jumps that you know give you a problem and just start hitting them again and again.
  15. A good set of boots will help a little but it still is going to come down to your riding postion. Grip that seat tight when you go and jump. Mostly practice jumping, that is the only way your really going to keep from getting hurt. What is your riding postion going into the face of the jump? That will really effect the way your jumping and landing. Do you have a video camera? If so get someone to tape you while you jump. Is it the same jump thats giving you problems?
  16. Sounds like a riding postion problem to me. Are you letting your feet come off the pegs when you jump? If so that is your problem. Also do you ride on your toes, your heels, or the arch of your foot?
  17. I have a 2007 YZ 125 and I love it. I'm 5'6", 190# and Ill go up against anything out there. I had a YZ426F and that thing was a beast but it was not for me. I did ride a YZ250F and that thing was nice. I went with the YZ125 because I like 2-strokes and my old YZ125 would whoop up on anything that I raced against. Also look at how heavy the bikes are. I think with us short guys that the lighter the bike the easier it is to start and hold up. The new YZ125 is only 199#, about 20# less then the 250F's and 40# less then the 450F's. If you do go 4-poke make sure it has the automatic decompression in it. The stupid decompression lever on the older ones sucks ass. You have to go through a whole ritual to get it started
  18. Hey like I said for a little more punch that wont cost a dime, unplug the rev limiter and take out the baffle. Big difference.
  19. +1 to that. PW are cheap and if he dosnt like it its not a big lose.
  20. Find a PW 50. Good little bikes and they never changed so any year will work. Most districts now have 2 classes for the 50's, one for shaft drive and one for chain drive. If you do get a PW take out the oil pump, cut out the silincer baffle, and unplug the rev limiter and the little thing will pull a 150 pound guy around. Also I think harescrambles are the way to go. HS will give him the basic skills you need in a race forum and if he can do an hour race he should be able to do a 15 minute moto. Also HS you dont need a top dollar bike to compete. You could have a stock bike and still beat full race bikes. Let him do a couple HS then go to a motocross. Most times the 50 class isnt going and doing doubles and stuff. If a motocross school is around that would be a good idea too. Start him early so he dosnt get any bad habits. Where are you from anyway? Check out the AMA district near you and maybe go to a race and just walk around the pits, talk to some people.
  21. Have anything done to it?
  22. Man I was running 320 mains with T6's and a full airbox. He does have a drilled out airbox. Thats why I keep asking for what jets he has now because he thinks he is rich
  23. Try www.CPW.com. I think alot of guys use them. The snorkel is the tube that attaches to the airbox lid at the front. Did you open your carbs and see what jats you have yet?
  24. Yeah they have PV. I put a FMF Fatty pipe and a Shorty Silincer on my YZ125 and it rips. Out of all the 125's the YZ has the most linear powerband. It's got a good bottom to top curve. Me I've always been a 125 rider. I like to pin it and feather the clutch. My YZ isnt quit as fast as my shee on top but its not far off. Plus I dont know too many places that I can get 6th gear flat out. If you lived closer I'd let you take mine out and see what you think.
  25. Dude I'm there with you on the height. I'm 5'6" too and I'm mostly a dirt biker. You should have seen me try to start my YZ426F! The carbs seem to be spot on. I jumped up to a 160 main I think. I didnt realize I needed to loss the airbox lid for the carbs. I'm surprised you want to go with a 250 not a 125. Now I weigh about 190 and my 125 keeps up or bets any of the 250"s I come up on.
