Newbie, help, full throttle at start up
LS1Inferno replied to mooney's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
You have an air leak if the carbs aren't stuck open. -
Yeah i kept trying to reach down and pull out the kick starter while riding it. Its not funny when everyone sees me, freaking electric start. If i were building a drag bike i would either spend the money on a banshee motor or go steal my friends turbo busa motor. He is absolutely psycho, that thing puts out 735HP at the rear wheel, Im trying to get him to put a swinger and axle on the back so he can put it on sand ha ha. I was very happy to get the 6-7 Hrs of riding time on like 4 gallons. I wonder how much it would cost to make a banshee put out 735 HP

You want too much
-
You need to edit this post ^^ Until i saw this one i thought you wanted 65 for the cylinders.

If we did nothing but spend all day on making it fit it the frame and mounting the motor it could be done in a weeks time. It actually only took about 40HRs of fab time total, because having a nice welder and torch is key. Yes i know that a 100-120 HP banshee will beat it all day long, but try and ride on WFO all day long on less then 5 gallons of gas. Yes the bike would be faster with a build banshee motor, but cheaper defiantly not it you take the time to acquire the parts as they come along. I would love to have and ride a 100 HP banshee but this we built this to be all day ridable and affordable. In my just piped, ported and 34PJ banshee i used about 20-30 bucks in oil and 10-15 gallons if not more in 91 octane, we use about 4 gallons in this thing, we bough 100 for it just because we could and it smells good and makes other people wonder, but it could run all day long 91. I know that a properly built banshee motor can and would be faster because of the weight, but i guarantee that we have A LOT less in this bike then a 4 mill built by FAST or HJR or anyone, this motor is already built for holding this much power, ive thought about building me a nice screamer but all the parts making the banshee run that fast and hold the power adds up. I know everyone has different opinions about doing things like this, but hell a busa motor put out A LOT more power then this and is much smaller and lighter then the ZX9 motor. I rode a warrior with a busa shoved into it, that thing feels exactly like a stock warrior until you twist the throttle. Yes weight is a big factor, but not when you have the power to pull it and the suspension that makes the bike feel stockish.

Ill see if I can get my dad to come to utah.
-
Yep thats the bike but not finished. it took about two months of free time work really not bad with a welder and torch, and DEFFINATLY two people that motor is like 200 lbs. itself. and as far as expence my lips are sealed just incase we want to sell it someday but i will say if you take the time to gather the parts it would cost A LOT more for just a shee motor that puts out 150HP and 80 FT-LBS

I was getting to the pics photobucket took hours to upload the pics and videos...BRAPP BRAPP Sry about the audio, i didnt know my little digital camera didn't record audio when it zooms, fucking POS. WE is my dad, brother, and I. Please don't complain about my dad not wearing a helmet, it hurts his neck, thats all the reason im giving. Its not perfect, if/when we build another there are several things we are going to do different, but its scary fun none the less, and soon i am getting a different sprocket for the front that will make it even sicker.

OR you could sell the stroke crank to me haha JK, yeah you are going to make a lot more power then you though.

Well we took it out to Armagosa on Thursday.. JTFC Its still got the stock 17/41 gearing with 22" dick cepeck 16 paddle tires on it. Going up comp there I was pulling on built CR 500, all the 450's, our banshees and some dudes on 450 Dirt Bikes (they were PISSED). I was only in 1st up the hill and could click 2nd about 3/4 of the was up. I wen't around back to one of the big bowls and topped out 3rd and was doing about 110MPH. I saw the bottom of the bowl coming a little too fast and slowed down to about 75-80 which was like 5Gs holding my ass on the bike. It is an absoultly and illegal amount of fun. Also it ran ALL DAY without overheating and only used about 3-4 gallons of gas. This bike is absoultly THE MOST FUN I've had on 4 wheels. We built it to be rideable, not just a drag bike, and it is I can throw it around like a normal banshee, I just can't jump it over a few feet. EDIT: I said i was typing this on the phone and i didn't think it was too unreadable but apparently i was wrong, now its fixed. Also the wern't run ons i had plenty of .'s in there

where to ride near vegas in june?
LS1Inferno replied to official_style's topic in General Banshee Discussion
That time of year no place other the coral pink that i can think of... but remember its cool because its over 6000 feet so pack a bunch of smaller jets. In june take the temp they tell you on the weather channel and add 10-15 degrees and you will be around what it feel like in the SHADE. -
it prolly revs by itself because your a post miner bring post from about a YEAR ago back up? idk? just my .02

well then she is not fine... and just adjust your suspension and tire pressure. -

LS1Inferno replied to 4strokekilla1987's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
running a little rich isnt bad. too rich is bad it will glaze the cylinders, but rich isnt going to make it overheat. like i said just running a perfect bike too hard and not running her out to cool her off is just as bad a being lean. we have no fans too keep it cool you have to keep moving. if even under normal riding (not racing) she is overheating then you have a bigger issue which could be a from a bad RAD cap (very rare but possible) to a broken waterpump impeller. How does the bike run under so called normal riding conditions? -
what size pilot is in it? and once its running it should run good low comp bikes are hard to start but run like hell up top. it sounds like its time for a top end.
-
yeah you if the motor is in the bike and the carbs are still on you almost cant do it without one person pushing on the actuator and one adjusting the screw. if you push the lever towards the arrow and when you tighten the screw it should push back if you have it almost all the way in you probably forgot the little ball (im guilty of that too )
-
dont forget if its not ballanced it will take out your crank bearings and/or crank.

LS1Inferno replied to 4strokekilla1987's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
well it will only do that if you are overheating. not if you are hot lapping too much even a properly jetted bike will over heat if its only doing it hot you either are running it too hard or are lean. -
if you want to go through the whoops better -2 will only make it worse IMHO. if you are only riding trail with a few whoops go for it but i ride a places with no trails and a lot of sand and hard pack whoops if i were you id stick with stock.
-
well best or best for the price? best for the price just get some 450 shocks. buy better is full 450 front suspension and best is extended an work, elkas, etc...but the whoops you mostly just need a rear shock revalved for you weight even stock revalved shocks are really good.
-
I have some old cheap progressive rates up front and rear shock re valved for a +4 swinger. i just hit 4th or 5th and pull back and bounce through the whoops like a dirt bike couldnt be happier no bounce what so ever once i get the shock set right.
-
ssell the dura blue and buy abetter one dura blues are know by many as dura break.... but that's my opinion I just a lot and have seen a few people abuse it less then I do my stock one and snap.
-
the stator is likely bad if you have a new coil and CDI etc... the ignition have a different set of coils on the stator.. id be looking for a stator for the newwe plug, and put the harness back into one piece
