We run $2 qt Type F trans fluid in our dragbikes , duners, and trailbikes. An automatic transmission has gearsets and clutchpacks under high loads and heat just like a banshee trans.
Of course don't run it in a 4 stroke quad that needs oil for the crank too.
They are a good lockup I run one on my 4mil cub. I run two bearings in every other groove and then 1 in the other half of em. Still overkill but it holds good.
I had the exact thing with a billet basket that made my spacing off. You can either take some off the spacers if that's the problem. You can also call Kevin Gigot at Gigot Performance Engineering and tell him your spacing problem exactly he probably has some spacers that are the width you need or can make you some. He is one of the best, nicest guys in our industry and this is just something we run into when building custom stuff for bikes.
We'll be there with some KC guys. I'll have my long and low black inframe bike and a few KTM quads and we might have the blown up kenz 813 raptor fixed that some conman sold to Mikebell72 that was "F"ed up.
If they don't look like they are ported they could have been ported before plating. Some builders get cubs unplated , port them and then have them plated. There's very little difference in looks from a non ported cyl. You are talking about a 1/2 a mm here a slightly changed angle there.
Wow u guys are fillin up the calender fast. I got Ok. In March and April, a ride in Ks in april, Nebraska Jamboree 1st week of June, scuba diving in Mexico 3rd week of June. If my wife don't kill me it'll be a fun year.
I live 20 miles south of KC but we made the trip out to Garden city to ride the river with buds from there.we took 25 people from KC and Omaha Neb. I hunt out west a lot with friends and family. I love riding out there.
We'll be up behind the shop on the hill too. Bring a buncha wood it might be chilly.I had a good time in Oct hangin with you guys that were there just not enough time. Hope more of ya camp up top behind the shop.
If you guys scroll down farther to "add reply" you won't quote the other post like hittin "reply" does.
The plates don't look worn out yet still won't hold in higher gears. Use ford type ATF in the trans when you put it back together its about $2-3 a qt. Make sure you have the clutch adjusted so the arm points at the little arrow on the case, then also make sure your clutch lever has about 1/8" of slack when its adjusted.
There is other choices if you need a clutch to get your bike going. The EBC is a very good clutch there's nothing wrong with it. The FAST clutch is just a better one especially if you have a high HP bike that gets dragraced a lot. It is priced more. The FAST clutch is from FAST a site sponsor.
Not wanting you to part it down to every nut and bolt but could you price the roller, that's a sweet bike. How much for the bike without the motor/carbs/pipes. I know some guys with new badazz motors and stockish bikes lookin for stuff. I'd be interested, that's a nice bike.
I've had to tie down the brake pedal and sit the bike on the grabbar and leave it for a couple days to get the last bit of air out. If it won't start pumping I pump the pedal repeatedly dozens of times while vacuuming from the back end. Some take a while to get goin.
You can leave it in. It should be closed below about 6000 or so then it should open completely at high rpms. It should not slow you down in any way unless it doesn't open.
The starter jet is the one slightly off to the side not in the center. The mainjet is in the middle possibly with a plastic shield around it. Must be working on a 4 stroke with a mikuni huh? Hope this helps.
Zach if your tires are a bigger rollout 73 or 74 I might trade ya my 12s extreme superlites or a set of 11 supers for em. I doubt you want a real short swingarm.mine are 74" rollout With a 10 over mine won't stay down in any gear. Todd
I sent him an email asking him if they were duneable and what thickness tube they were and got no response, must not want to sell em too bad is what I figured. I was hoping to hear from somebody that would say they were good. They are cheaper than most people want for used ones. Shoulda put "deviant designs" in the topic title so everybody would know.
