I don't know if you guys have ever used a smaller rear sprocket for ground clearance and thus use a smaller like 12 tooth front to get the gear down. A lot of XC rider do that to keep the sprocket off the rocks.

It definately depends on the bike and the sand. Some bikes with the round balloon type tires go well. Others with more power will fly with paddles but go nowhere without. I will say the 18" geckos suck balls on the 50s and 90s. They weigh like 12 lbs each. Gliders or sandstars are a bunch better.

paddles and nerfs.. possilbe the whole banshee

Trade a kid/wife quad plus some cash difference for it. I have a post in the "swap trade" if u wanna see it with a pic. -
His are worth more if they are skat traks but if you hardly ever dragrace then the sandstars are a really good tire and they slide and play better as well as sidehill better. A straight blade will climb or drag better but its whatever rou prefer. Make the trade but tell him if you don't like em he has to switch back with ya. That would be fair.

How hard should a 4 mill run?
RadarRacing replied to crustydemon's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
If you have a stock swingarm you should have problems keeping it down in 4th gear with a trinity mx port. We always bash trinity but that should run really well. Its not the pipes holding you back PCs should work fine with that motor IMO . If you haven't checked squish clearance check that. That would mess up a 4 mil setup having wrong domes, but it could be jetting, ign, etc. -
This is my girls bike and she's ready for a bigger bike or banshee. Its a great bike for a kid or wife or newbie. Auto clutch, shaft drive its a good duner and it has gone on 85 mile rides without filling it back up with gas. Has a pipe, filter, jetted, grafics, seat cover pretty much new holeshots and polished Douglas wheels on back and newer razrs on the front. Located near Kansas city but can drive some. Will trade up or down. Looking for a Banshee, 400, 450, 500?????

I like T5s better if you are going to do any porting they will work better IMO I even had a set on my little cub and it was super fun to ride. As for the differences with porting. It is very much related to the shape of the exhaust port roof and exh duration . The T6's design would tend to run better with a rounder roof than a flat EXH roof. They also have a tuned length for running at a lower rpm range than a drag pipe or the T5s for that matter. If a longer tuned length pipe like the T6 were used on a higher exh port you would find that the stinger size is more than likely too small to try to turn 10,000 rpms. If u. take the T6 tuned length of prolly 38" or so and do some engine and pipe builder math you see 192 degrees of exhaustX 1700 ÷ 38" tuned length you get 8589 RPMs for approx best HP. Change the EXH duration to 198 and you still get just 8857 rpms. Still a low Rpm for high duration with a shorter pipe you see quite a bit more effect with porting but the volume etc needs to be right I like the T5s quite a bit better on most any bike but stock .

They used to be cast pistons and we're pretty well known for breaking. That was at least 5 yrs ago tho.

He was asking about a Raptor with duals, cams, programmer etc and he was wanting to know if a paul turner airbox stock carb banshee would win. The answer is NOPE.
-
Since u said full lid and 20cc domes we can assume a trail/play port so the 700 would eat u alive. The 1" taller tires would suck on the rappy tho. Flat trackin the shee would win but u put this in the drag section. Either bike with a plus 4 swingarm would beat the other.

I got a short clips of a couple races. I don't know who the guys were in the first clips, the ones just before sundown were Trexbanshee, his brother and I playing around late sat. I have the red shirt. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/Radar51/th_LittleSaharaOct2009.jpg

I'm sure you can understand many people would be suspicious of a 1 post seller. Scam artists try to use forums all the time and the thing many of them have in common is very few posts and now they have a bike to sell. -

Adjusting cascade pancake bearing
RadarRacing replied to crustydemon's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Do you just tighten it enough to take up the play? There is no way to set arm to the arrow on the case. It has nothing to do with the lever or play in the cable. It does align or adjust the arm to the arrow on the case. Make sure you have it installed right, they are wierd to adjust. You have to back off the jam nut and adjust the black screw in the middle till the arm aligns to the arrow. Then make sure you have an 1/8th of and inch of play in the cable on the handlebar clutch lever. -
It was a fun weekend I got a good sunburn and even got the wifes jeep stuck and on its side down in a huge hole and it only cost me a case of budweiser to get it out. just a thought but shearers stuff the cylinders a lot more than T5's and sometimes need about 2 jet sizes less up top than the t5s. The T5s are easier to jet and run well IMO cuz even off 3 jet sizes they run well. If you are rich much on the shearers they will either be a dog off the line or kinda not rev out up top. When right they fly.

I'll be on a black banshee with a red seat +10 swingarm and inframe pipes. Sits real low and has skinny front tires. There will be a Turbo KTM 525XC with me and the Green Jeep should be close by as well as our kids.Quite a few others are going too. Pic from last weekend at Genoa.I'm in the far lane. Radar

That's exactly what I thought too when I read it. Also who would buy brand new $600 stock TORS equipped carbs? I have a friend in kansas city looking for a decent banshee.tho.
