I know just as many people with aftermarket cranks that have failed as stock cranks. My 1988 stock welded crank is still doing great, many mods including porting, head work, timing advance,34MM carbs, etc, since 1989.
I also find that to be true.
I have been a machinist/CNC programmer for 25 years. The money just isn't in this field anymore. I am currently considering getting out!
There are magnets inside the flywheel, so you do not want to turn it down too far. I remove about 9 ounces from the outside of a stock flywheel, a couple more ounces if you machine slots in the face.
Also, always use the correct thread in style flywheel puller.
Yep, have been several times. There are two separate riding areas, one right below the dam, and another one that goes out on a island with varied terrain. The area by the dam is closed for several months each year for bald eagle nesting.
I prefer the island. Been quite awhile since I've been there, but I hear from friends that it's getting more popular (crowded).
I have always used 409 instead of K&N cleaner on my filters. A friend of mine was sponsered by K&N and he said it's the same stuff. Anyway, works great.
I use either K&N filter oil, or a good quality fabric filter oil, I used BelRay last time.
I just did a top end job on the wifes Banshee, and the intake was painted black inside. It was starting to flake too, so I sandblasted them before I got the cylinders bored.
My kids can't wait for MX vs, ATV Unleashed. It was suppose to come out Saturday and we went in a store at the mall and it's been pushed back to March 5.
I've had problems with the head gasket Wiseco sends with there piston kits (Cometic). It still ran fine with the leak, but used coolant. I use the OEM gaskets now with no more problems.
I think Meat makes some good points, if you don't like it, don't reply to it. I think most of the stupid posts are just from kids trying to stir $hit up. I usually just read the subject and if it sounds stupid, I don't even read it. They just want attention, if they don't get it here they'll go away.
Too many rules and too much moderation will drive people away.
