  3. If you rebuilt the carbs make sure the bowls are on the correct side and choke tube is in swapping bowls will give you a hard srart

I have sent cylinders to site sponsors on her b4 and have waited months even 9mnths one time , the wait was worth it and the work spoke for itself, the problem with 90% of people they think builders are waiting at the mail box for there cylinders with a porting tool in hand and a clear bench anybody worth anything is busy . I agree being upfront with wait times help but life happens sometimes just return your calls, I too have put multiple calls out to jim with no return sorry op , plus I need oof drag pipes for 2 build im doing and allways go through jim. Jim is one of the most knowledgable 2 stroke engineers in the game and put your average builder to shame . Hopefully he makes this rite for u

  8. Not true when I drag port cubs theres a decent pile of aluminum taken out and timings adjusted just fyi, to me every little bit helps hp is hp in any shape or form and u better beleive the guy lined up next to is full tilt

  10. My new bike has battery up front to operate seleniods it's off a snap on lawn mower but if I were doing something off road I would prob go with a lithium ion batt off a trx 90 due to size if ur not worried about weight Yfz 450 batt

  12. I came upon the same situation 4 yrs ago on a friends machine factory piston lost clip and wrist pin chewed cylinder. I ported it bored and ran it, he is very cheap and understood the reprocutions . Needless to say he has been spraying the death outta this motor for three yrs and still have acceptable compression it dropped 3 psi . Wrist pin ate the sleeve and bottom of one transf inlet

  14. Lean on pilot, possibly needle position, close the air screw off and see if it stops the idle hang
  15. How hot is she getting and is your electrical up to snuff? Do me a favor u got nothing to loose add fuel leave needle and pilot alone put a 185 in it see if its worse or better . If it gets better all over keep adding one at a time till it wont pull one you find that 1-2 jet spread back down one and plug chop it the rite way. Worse comes to worse your rich . Also very big deal is float height (16mm) . Does it hit a wall or blubber over? Sorry its very hard without feeling it
  16. I build all mine to fit and for the occasional few hide the wires in the frame , looks sweet , all mine cdi on top have done over 15 that way
  17. I wasnt planning on belt drive was a thinking outboard style jja axle and 530 chain drive baker has options and there is a few others that have similar style trannys

  19. Since we are reviving I have always wanted to use a baker 6 speed off a harley on a jet ski type motor or sno mo but no room for more projects lol

I have had a pressure test go well but o rings still leak when hot , usually protocall for me is pressure test, compression test, check pick up, plug cap ohm reading(never good), cable play carb sync , before I even kick someone elses bike. I had a bad experiance a few years back , a well known builder built this kids motor but he needed it tuned didnt do my usual machanical testing and I blew a hole in piston within 20ft from my driveway , turned out to be not enouph cas sealant behind crank just plain out missed 3 inches. Im sure piston was already going b4 it got to me

I have had bad luck with fuel going bad I have a friend that has tools to test it but I have had vp go bad for his application and his bike run like shit but it run fine in another machine I guess it depends on your engines state of tune and octane requirements I know people who dont think about it never have problems and wouldnt know if they did. Me on the other hand hurdle every obstacle known to man I feel ignorance is bliss. Not on same topic but case in point, I built a 4mil drag motor for someone who rides trail/hills he rode his bike for 4hrs in t he snow giving hell, it wasnt running rite but hey it will clear out rite!!! He brings it by the reason it wasnt running rite was the rubber boot on the intakes actually backed the screws out and I could fit my 12mm wrench sidways between the rubberand intake , he didnt hurt anything but me I would have burnt it down instantly . My point is how lucky do you feel lol

  23. Its the most popular set up for sure, it seems a full 1-6 overide is very unreliable and most tranny guys have a hard time getting them to stay together or just plain out wont cut em . I use 1-4 m5th,6th with a shift kil
  24. Yes forgot it was nology my brain is mush it has straps that go to head , the only problem I ever faced with a nology coil is interference when mounted to close to cdi in drag bikes with cut and relocated harness/ cdi
  25. Is the coil mount bare metal ? Also ground in the back by cdi
