Yes it is pretty important. Ive done it with and without and never had problems either way. But id break it in.

Be careful of Dirt! make sure none is gonna fall in your cylinders. It wouldnt hurt to spray your cylinders down with WD40. I usually do but it might not be neccessary.

haha I think this is so awesome. Beauty of the internet right here guys. 10 random guys that have never meet helping 1 guy rebuild his quad. I think youll finish just fine. Now its time to pull the cylinders off of the pistons. This is done by simply lifting the cylinders up. It may take a little bit of force. After that step is completed, your going to want to take your cylinders to a shop where they can be micrometered. They need to check your "bore size". When thats all done post back here with that exact measurement and im sure one of these guys will be happy to tell you what size pistons you need. Or Jeff at FAST. Good luck.

I uh bet some dudes with a 450R and a 500 preditor that i could beat em. Im not so sure though. I rode the prediter and it was not very impressive but the 450 i know is fast, they all are. so what do ya think, straight line. All i do is drag race so im pretty good, rarely ever screw up. They dont ride that much. Is it gonna be a riders race? They think they are the fastest people on earth so theyll bet anything.

Its a 4 stroke dude. Carb has nothing to do with it. IF IT IS GAS...then its most likely coming from either bad rings but idk if ive ever heard of that happening, usually its the oil that goes up top and gets burned, not the gas coming down. Or you have bad valve seals, but also ive never heard of gas running down into the case, only oil coming up and getting burnt. IDK anything about 450's really. Id just walk into a dealership and ask somebody about it. Maybe its normal for a 450. Can you stick your finger in the oil and smell the gas on your finger?
