  1. are you still trying to sell them? looking for a set. like to try them on my small motor.
  2. make sure to mount that sucker on some kind of rubber mount, it will shake you to death. i think cause of the counterbalancer? buddy had a cr500 on a trx 250r frame your hands would go to sleep.
  3. nice ride man. luv seeing flat track shees. best machine for flat tracking imo. good luck this season.
  4. no joke we had a guy who fell off going down the straight and he bruised the crap out of the inside of his body. layed him up a long time. i made a lowering bar for the back out of aluminum stock, and a set of lowering brackets for the front my first time. had about 20.00 in the whole thing. the only problem is moving the front shocks out from the stock mounts changes the leverage so this is just something you want to do until you get the right length shocks up front. get a sway bar even an old one, even if its for another machine and make it fit. play around adjusting it till you get it where you like. invest in a set of flat track tires. check at your local dirt circle track i used to get a bigger right rear from the mini sprint guys. play around with stagger and air pressures. have fun and be safe........
  5. make sure to check the shaft for wear. those seals get hard and eat into the shaft. if it is and its light use some 400 grit wet sand paper to clean it up a bit. spray off , and put back together.
  6. hey bro not ignoring you. i just cant get my pm to send to you. e mail me@ dirtmod15@insightbb.com. i used to ride in pismo i might know you.
  7. if i am not mistaken the link is for travel and leverage on the rear shock. if you are just draggin it you shouldnt need that much rear travel. i am not sure if the stock shock will bolt up without the linkage. you may have to fab up a mount. and check to see if it will be to soft or stiff of a spring without the linkage.
  8. i work at a transmission shop we sell grease that melts a s soon as heat hits it. it is usually blue or green. works great and doesnt leak out making you think you have a oil leak. it melts clear. check your local trans shop . if they are cool they would probably put some in a ziplock and give it to you.
  9. here it is in a nutshell. i raced motorcross on a banshee for six years , possibly the worst thing you can do on a banshee. spent alot of money to make it work for this. it was a blast and did very well locally. my idol was doug eichner who had one of the baddest mx banshees on the planet and just killed people on it. now you have to remember this was when the 250r was the best choice fro mx. had a ton of fun on it. then i decided to go falt track racing , man was that fun. more suited to the banshee ,had to change a few things but all in all wasnt to bad. won a ton of races on that thing. we all used to go to flat rivers missouri for long weekend rides. lots of sand flats and a few hills. the banshee was awesome in this terrain. i eventually sold it with a tear in my eye, so i could go modified racing. now 8 years later , i recently bought two banshees 87 and 96 same year as my last one . stripped it powdercoated and every aftermarket piece you can buy. it looks like a million bucks. and ive caught my self sitting in my garage with a glazed over look starring at it tell my wife tells me to come to bed. the motor will be done next week ,and i cant hardly sleep and when i do all i can think about is ripping that sob across whatever god lays in front of me. i bought my wife a raptor 250 and my daughter a trx90. and we are heading out this spring to camp at ole st joe st park. my buddies have been ripping me about the vintage while my wife and kid sit aboard new 4 strokes. and i just tell em its the principal of the thing. some of the best times i have had have been sitng on a banshee........
  10. i dont think it will .because the linkage bracket on the banshee frame is not on the blaster. you could make it work, but it would take some fab work. give me the length of the front of the blaster swingarm ( across the front where the pivot bolt is) and i can measure an old swingarm i have to see if it will fit in the frame.
  11. yeah i knew you could remove tors from the carbs. i did this on my old banshee. drilled the holes for idle screws and the whole sheebang. i just wasnt sure if the tors box also ran anything else. thanx for the responses.
  12. thanx again i will research the rectifier some more. i was wondering what the name of the company was that sold the relocator. thanx for the info.
  13. thanx i wasnt sure and you know what happens when you assume. can that rectifier come off as well? i am not running any lights at all. i would like to get rid of as much useless stuff as possible. all my buddies bought 450's and are giving me all kinds of shit about this 96 banshee. i had a new one i used to race in 96. but i went to the marines for a while and sold it. its all i really know. but lost track of how a few things work.
  14. try to tap lightly with a small chisel. if you can get to it. try to turn it loose with it.
  15. i had the same problem. hole in piston and after rebuild it had bubbles in the radiator. took it back apart and had head checked it wasnt warped but had a slot fire across it. a small one but was missed the first time . maybe not your problem here since you have o ring head ,it would be easy to tell with it . but might have a cylinder problem.
