  1. blue printing is just an old method/technology used when building motors to set tolerances and such. But it still works. Alot of guys that build motors for racing (Go-Karts) still blue print them.
  2. ok and your squish shouldnt be causing it being that far out, and your running a coolhead??? its possible that the domes or the jugs are not flat. but you said that they do NOT pop out at the same place everytime correct?
  3. how old is your cap? could be ready to replace?
  4. oh so you didnt have a problem with the piston in this set just the orings popping out? i am getting confused becasue there has been like 60 differant topics in this post
  5. the jugs you got could have been milled??? what pistons did you get? there are alot of possibilities. but burning a hole in the piston is due to running lean, so you got a leak some where along the way
  6. i dont recall if av gas is oxygenated or not but i know that the octane rating is not the same as fuel used for automotives due to the altitudes and a few other things. there was a chemical engineer guy that came on here a few months ago and explained the differances.
  7. im assuming that is AV gas? if so then no its not the same as race gas. if you cant get good race gas then i would backoff the compression.
  8. holy shit ian! did your pet wallaby type for you? That was tough to read and understand! So I will do my best to answer you. Get yourself a Carb Sync Tool and make sure your carbs are synced. They can be bought from Jeff at FAST www.farmandsandtoys.com this is a must for multipul carb motors. Also check and make sure your jets are the same in both carbs. on another note... what mods are done to the bike?
  9. YEAYYY I GOT BHQ BACK AT WORK!!!!
  10. i would ditch the key, if you wish to advance your timing do it right by using a plate. as far as your compression at 170 you are well over pump gas with advanced timing. you need to be running at least 50/50 for your squish you would need to get differant domes. or use a thinner base gasket. and if your saying your adaptor was too short your comp will be even higher.
  11. you can not tell much by simply looking at a pict of a intake track to now if the porting is any good. all that shows is about 2% of what is done to a motor when it ported. you need to be worried about the transfers. but you cant tell anything by looking at them other then if the guy had a steady hand. the info that makes a dferance is the timing and the dregrees of the ports.
  12. Need to sell the chain! 75 Shipped!
  13. umm thats sexy. looks all to familiar
  14. tank sold
  15. yes make sure you undo the plug at your P-Brake. there is a small botton behind it thats runs the TORS> make sure you unplug it. its just remove the two bolts on the rear caliper and pop it out. put the plate one and bolt it down
  16. her is the link...Link i want to say i remember alot of problems with thembut i cant say for sure. maybe more guys will chieme in that ave better memory then i
  17. i didnt read all of the other posts made , so this is just picking up where my last post was at. Discrd if not needed your squish could be a little tighter. you want idealy .040 of squish, but with yours messuring out farther this isnt the cause of your o rings popping out.
  18. mine got blocked at work too. im going to have to try that proxy all my others still wont let me login
  19. dude you are the worst at putting posts in the wrong spot...
  20. i tlked to jeff and he said he is trying to get it back next week. said only thing he could think of was that the gear already had stress on it and it let go. cause it sheared the teeth right off but didnt hurt the ramps or anything. i want to get her back running to get one last trip to Dumont before it gets stupid hot!!! but i dont want this race gas sitting in my garage so it can go bad
  21. man if you think the new chrome is bad you shoud see the old chrome, that was garbage! what sucks is if something happens and he dose fix the pipe he dose NOT fix the chrome which is bullshit! if the pipe fails do to a mistake on his side of the build then he should fix the whole thing. you paid for a pipe that was built correctly if it fails it should be his fix!
  22. as long as its not a bag of shit i'd trade it. get a compression tester before you meet him and see what kind of comp it has.
  23. I have 10 gallons of VP 110 I need toget rid of in San Diego. It's 3 weeks old. 5 Gallons is already mixed 36:1 with yamalube. Let me know if you want to buy it. I will not get a chance to ride for a while and do not like having race gas sitting around. VP 110 is going for 7.00 bucks a gallon here so I'll sell this for 6 i guess. Make sure you have your own cans to transfer it into if you want it... your not running off with my cans
