  1. you would need the switches or you would need to swap for a newer harness that has all of that on there already.
  2. yes you can just swap the plugs and it will be fine. if your lights are not working check and make sure your voltage regulator is hooked up. if not you might have blown the bulbs
  3. all your doing is wasting oil at 24:1 bumping it back to 32 or even 36 will not do anything to the motor. your still getting enough lubrication. all your doing is wasting oil. you can only lube the metal so much. Running rich will not hurt anything, you will just foul plugs and have to replace them. But if the bike sits for a while you can end up gumming up the jets which could make the motor lean out and blow up.
  4. that would be correct , i driving a 3rd gen 06 5.9
  5. i properly jetted motor you can run a set of plug for many years. your where black because your jetting is too rich and or your premix has too much oil in it.
  6. hum not really sure of any way to get epoxy off beside drilling it. call a few builders and see what they say
  7. they use saftey wire but the screw needs a hole so it doesnt come off. if you have a drill press you could dril a small holeyour self. dont try doing it with a hand drill you will just f it up
  8. are you talking about the 4 holes on the lower part of the case that guys epoxy? whats the reason you need to redo it?
  9. they should have a cotter pin through them so this doesnt happen
  10. thats good stuff. i now know who i'll be bothering to ask questions about my diesel truck becaue i'm clueless on them
  11. do you have a tap set or are you looking at going and buying the one you need? either way take some taps and start running them in to see which one feeds. or you can take out the screw and find the thread pitch of it and match the tap. every set could be differant. you dont want to tap it and find out your screws are a differant pitch.
  12. it wont be any more expensive as long as the crank doesnt let loose. you can buy a used stock crank for next to nothing. id just replace it and be safe if it has as much play as you say it does.
  13. if you got a kit it should have came with the correct tap
  14. if your fouling the plug you are too rich on your jetting
  15. its normal to have play for side to side but not normal for it to be 1/4 in. how old is the motor? might be time to rebuild it.
  16. they look good, however i would be a little skeptical with how they hold up once they take a narley beating in the sand. all the stress seems to be on one point. did you use any program to desing them or just make them semetrical to mount in the same stock configuration? either way you do some killer work!
  17. you have to have it choked to start it or to run it you have to have it choked? to start it thats fine, if running you have to have it choked your jetting is wrong
  18. thats a good number for stock stroke and ported stock jugs
