  4. Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding. Chuck Norris
  5. ahh thats good, the earlier models didnt have that option....
  6. i am a fan of stock gearing for multipurpose riding like you seem to be doing. 14/41.... as far as tire size it acts much like gearing, if you go really small you will take off like a bat out of hell if your riding those tight turns and trails, but when it comes to drag your bike will top out alot sooner. I run really small tires on my wife 450 and love it, but I pretty much never drag race it. I am also not a fan of the 2 in 1 carb setup, start looking around the site, there is TONS of info that will help you get the bike running to suit your riding style. you just got to do some digging to find the posts. And welcome to the site
  7. if your riding in areas with water I wouldnt get pods, Now when you say spalshed by water what exactly do you mean? The reason guys get longer pods is becasue on bigger motors they need more air.
  8. remember that the tach is not going to be accurate on our bikes, both plugs fire at top and bottom. So your rpm is going to show double what your actually getting out of it. unless they finally started making one thats banshee specific to account for that.
  9. in dire need you can mix and match but as with anything that expands and contracts with heat cycles, and wear and tear it's always advised to keep the two halfs intact and not split them.
  10. PWK's are great carbs for most applications, Airstrykers are more a an MX designed carb from what I have read. Mikuni's are a little more uncommon then Keihins but they are great carbs as well, The TM's are the Mikuni eqiv to the PWK and the TMX's are the eqiv to the Airstrykers. Lectrons are a TOTALLY differant designed carb, unless your going to be doing drag racing there is no need for you to even bother spending the money on a set of them, they are rather pricey.
  11. as long as the cylinder is in round and you have to correct tolerances you can just hone it and be fine, but if you are out of tolerances or your bore is out of round you need to have it machined to get it back in specs. Make sure that any time you bore your cylinders that you have the pistons that are going to be used with the jugs so they can be matched. you can check 100 differant 65.00 pistons and they will all read differant so you cant just get your jugs punched to 65mm and call it good. or let me rephrase that, you "can" but you shouldnt
  12. better adjustment, larger and stronger bearings, rebuildable, allows for differnat diameter axles
  13. I wouldn
  14. many thousand... its hard to get a hard number with how many times i have bought and changed parts, but at least 15k (thats being very conservitive!!) from motors carbs pipes axles wheels a arms ect....
  15. checkout chariot racing, he has alot of goodies that wont cost you an arm and a leg and his stuff is quality
  16. i didnt read the whole post but depending on what axle your running and if your using a round house style carrier you got to take the axle out the brake side on some, then behind the brake hub there is a big circlip that holds the carrier in place. If this doesnt apply to you, sry
  17. I am assuming you are removing your front brakes right? if not and you want to get the ASV for the brakes, send them a message so you get the right model, I won a lever that said it was for a Banshee and it didnt fit because it was a differant model. They cleared it up but it was just a little bit of a hassle that could have been taken care of in the listing.
  18. yea there will for sure be more closures. The hippies will always find ways to shut it down. I think that there is still a small opening because there is gov land behind them still, but I cant say for sure becasue I didnt take the time to actually go look

  21. im not sure, last time we went we just glanced over and saw the big ass fence up so we didnt even try to pull in, there could be a little road of to the side of it that goes back. I mean after all there is a little "area of interest" back there thats open to the public.
  22. i like being a little more out, much less to worry about when you got a family. Not as many people around drinking and driving at night, and riding though your camp. It is nearly a perfect shot west to olds from 15 and sosuth for china wall. We used to camp across the 78 opposite to wash 1 but now that they closed it off we havent been that way any more. that place was money, NO dust or people acting crazy at night. And if you have kids with you , they pretty much got there own little track and dunes right there. Thats also the beauty of 15 is the kiddy dunes are right behind your camp
  23. the washes are every half mile or so. statring from the 78 at wash 1. its just the wash that allows rain water to flow under the tracks. so it starts at 1 and goes to 200 something down to the boarder. Roadrunner is at the very end of gecko, its a pretty good trip to anything good from there, and its all through dune if you want to race. The large closer area has been closed for 12 years. it was supposed to be temp, but the hippies managed to close it for good. Down by buttercup patton and gordons well, it where alot of buggys go. the dunes are not as good as glamis, but theres still alot of guys that go that way. Its not close enough that you would make it there on one tank of gas of a quad though. They ahve always required spark arresstors, they just didnt enforce it. They have their days where they will be dicks about it, and then some days they wont care.
  24. any local auto upholstery place can redo it for you
