You were probably looking at the new Maier plastic. Looks kinda Raptorish.
-
I don't think they'll design an all new 2-stroke setup for one year's use, but dreaming is fun. On the other hand, they could go with an R6 motor using different gears. Those things rev like a 2-stroke so it would kinda keep the Banshee feel.

hey, maybe you'll read this too, I wasnt calling you a bitch, it just gets frustrating when I go and buy you a quad and all I ever get from it is bullshit at work from people you talk to it about. And then christmas comes around and you ask what I want and I start to pull out RMATV and you say dont even think about it, I'm not supporting your habit....... You wanna talk about keeping shit private......stop opening your mouth at work so when I walk in all I do is get looks and remarks from the people you work with....... WTF? -
Steel... Rocky Mountain sells some Tusk aluminum bars for about $21. I'll go for those and maybe just take the padding off. I love the look of my new clamp so the Tapers aren't really an option. Thanks for the help guys!

I have the old black steel bars and am wanting some aluminum ones to match the aluminum parts I'm putting on. I was looking at the newer stock bars because they look aluminum and don't have a crossbar. 1. Are they actually aluminum? 2. Are they polished aluminum? 3. Do they bend real easy? Thanks for the answers. Sorry for asking, but no one I know has em. I was looking at these.

She left me the same message, but just like you I wasn't home. Good wife there dude! -
Sounds like the radiator is the way to go. I need one myself. I get pretty close to 200 degrees riding in the woods. There are some PWR ones on Ebay new for a little over $300. Think those are as good as Toomey?

What are the details? Was it a parked truck?

I guess I'll drop it to a 48 pilot and see what happens. I don't think I need to go a notch leaner on the clip cause when I tried that it hesitated a lot and backfired into the airbox (if that makes any sense). I've read that the needle diameter has a big affect on 1/4 throttle too. A friend of mine has more needles I might try. The most frustrating part is that I can't ride around my house so I have to wait until the weekends to really try anything. Thanks for the offer mrmatt, I might take ya up on it.

Well, I went from 175 main all the way to 220 with little difference in performance. I was doing my plug checks by slapping a new plug in and ripping up the road WOT. I didn't realize that isn't enough time and the plug's going to stay white regardless. So I came back down to 175 and rode on about 1/2 a tank and the plugs were chocolate colored. It's been running pretty strong except for the last two weekends. Weekend before last it would bog real bad when I pinned the throttle from about 1/4 (sometimes). I went from 58 pilot to 52 pilot and lowered the needle to the middle clip and it would hesitate real bad at 1/4. So I went back to second richest clip position, put new plugs in and it rode pretty good all day (with the exception of smoking pretty bad when I first cranked it up). Now I have 2 fouled plugs. I thought I was pretty close on the jetting but apparently not. I'm obviously too rich on some circuit but I don't know if it's pilot or main or both. Does the needle size make a big difference?
-
Have you checked your toe-in on the front tires? You might need to adjust tierods.
-
One of those plugs was so fouled after riding it wouldn't even fire so something has to be off. If I let the bike warmup on a new set of plugs for about 30 minutes then do a WOT check, won't they still come out black? They won't go from black back to white will they?

I'm running a single 35PWK with DEL needle in 4th clip from top, 52 pilot, 175 main. I through some new BR8ES plugs in yesterday and rode through maybe 1 tank of fuel. Both plugs look like the one below. The porcelain and strap are completely black. I mostly rode around in low gears all day. If I lean the needle one clip I get a lot of hesitation at 1/4 throttle. What do I do?

http://geekitup.net is my site, but it doesn't have anything to do with ATVs.

I'm in dire need of some exhaust clamps for my FMFs. $52 for the Cascade ones seems high. Does anyone have a cheaper alternative?
-
Sounds like he got the float bowls mixed up to me. Swap em out and give it a try.
-
A friend of mine has a tester he got from Sears and it read 120 on both cylinders. Get a good one!
-
That's what I needed to know. Thanks!
-
I followed the 4 wires coming from the switch to a plug that turns to 2 wires, red and black. Do I need to tie those wires together or simply leave it unplugged? I would just try to crank it unplugged, but my tank is off right now. Thanks!

I got one today for $15 from Harbor Freight. I just checked my compression (had to remove tank, is that normal?) today and it read 90psi on both cylinders. I did it cold, holding the throttle wide open and kicked it over about 20 times each. I did some slow kicks and some hard ones. I haven't had a rebuild in a couple years but 90psi seemed very low for such a powerful bike. So I guess I just need to find someone with a good gauge I can borrow right?
-
Go to an auto parts store and pick up a compression test kit. They run for around $30. I'm going today to get one from Harbor Freight for $20. Dunno if you have those around there.

Talk about contradictions. -
I'm very interested in this as well. I don't see why one of the fans they make for the 450r, YFZ450, Z400... wouldn't work. Couldn't you just hook it up to the power going to your headlight switch. Like put a seperate switch somewhere to flip the fan on whenever cruising around in 1st? As long as your headlights aren't on there should be plenty of juice right?

my buddy disgraced the banshee name...
KRMit replied to lastlegwarrior's topic in General Banshee Discussion
It really depends on the length of the race. A Banshee can pretty much take any other quad over a distance, but 300ft is a whole different story. -
Thanks for all your help! It's $120 for the kit at Dennis Kirk. I actually found this place that sells it for $70. Now I know what he needs to order, thanks guys!
