  1. I had the dirtbike and a blaster for 5 years and the banshee and yfz for under 1 year.
  2. I did the opposite. Started riding streetbikes, they are fun, but too fragile and too easy to fuck yourself up bad on. Got a dirtbike and loved it. You can beat the shit out of it, drop it, crash it and it wont cost you big bux to fix. Then I got into quads and nothing beats tearing shit up in the dirt. There are no legal places for me to ride either unless you want to pay a bullshit 1200 a year membership fee to ride on a crowded track. Long story short I have a 02 gsxr 1000 for sale and 2 quads that arent.
  3. Welcome. I live on LI and we're going riding tomarro. PM sent
  4. Congrats on the new purchase. I too bought an 06. Its not as pretty as it was when i bought it, nor is it stock. As far as skids go, I have a proarmor frame skid and a PRM swing arm skid. I like these skids because the frame skid wraps around the sides of the frame and the swing arm skid is super strong and protects the "dog bone" as well as the other components on the swinger. I ride mostly in construction sites so each time I ride I usually hit broken up concrete or big rocks. I need all the protection I can get. Good luck!!
  5. Maybe you could throw stock pipes on it. If the timing isn't advanced you could could then advance it and regear it for low end. Then you would have more low end and less of a powerband. The powerband is the nature of the beast and thats why most people buy them!
  6. I prefer the quads, but the bike is fun for jumping. Forget about riding my bike on sandy trails tho. Last time I tried that I fell about 7 times on a 3 mile trail! I guess thats why they're called dirtbikes and not sand bikes I feel alot safer on the quads.
  7. its normal, thats the way they come
  8. sounds like maybe the float might be stuck down. Try removing the bowl and see if the float moves up and down free. if not clean the heck out of it with carb cleaner until it moves nice and smooth. Hope this fixes your problem.
  9. I like the way it looks. they shoulda made the frame black tho. I hate the look of the generic gray frame.
  10. fishing is a good time waster... Cant wait for the new GTA this fall.
  11. I go here Let me know if you are gonna go maybe we'll meet up on a saturday
  12. I never been snowmobiling before, but I was invited to go to montana next winter for my first time. I'll try the nyatv site.
  13. I see you didnt quit afterall!

  14. Im gonna be camping at mongaup pond in livingston manor ny memorial day weekend. Is there any place to ride within a reasonable distance of there? or should I leave the banshee at home?
