  1. ive actually ran at this track before! back when it was just a grass strip and had no buildings, no tree, no one was even there.. . i ran against some other quads during one of the montly opening of cr motorsports. im like 15 mins from that location.
  2. you can trade up t4's for t5's or t6's at toomeys website. they give you a credit.
  3. im running nomal unleaded 93 octane! heres a new pics out in the sunlight.
  4. if there are no objections to the date, lets do it!
  5. critique my plug chop. i run castrol premix 32:1 and 93 octane, 80 degrees temp at sea level. my mods are in my signature.
  6. torque has alot to do with ratios of sprockets. if you put a 2:1 reduction on a 60ftlb motor, you have 120ftlb. (ignoring losses in the reduction) yet the horsepower stays the same.
  7. it was fun guys. well have to do it again in december. i put video in the video section and pics in the pic section.
  8. lets talk about torque for a moment. average male human can pull over 600ftlb of torque from their legs. and probably 300ftlb from their arms. why cant a human on a bicycle win a drag race between himself and a banshee ? the human has 600ftlb's, theres no banshee in the world with over 200ftlb. answer is the human lacks horsepower. banshee has ample ammounts of hp. torque is how hard you can twist something, like a crankshaft. i know i am capable of tightening 250ftlb torque headbolts on my car. hp is how hard you can twist something measured over time. i am slow compared to an engine. i have less than 1/3hp. humans have a very low rpm on a bicycle so the hp is low. if human could make 600ftlb at 5000 rpm then we would all be monsters.
  9. and if anyone has an extra playstation controller, bring it. i just broke one of mine so i only have 1 left. im leaving now guys. see you tomorrow. look for the silver dodge cummins turbo truck with a silver avion camper in the bed. im towing a red car hauling trailer and our blue atvs will be on the back. my cell is 561 601 3322 if anyone needs it.
  10. with the lid on, no snorkel and 1500 evelation a 260 main sounds about right. the rest of the jetting sounds about right too. i realsie each machine is different, but thats got to be ballpark. try runing it with the lid off for a brief test and see it if runs better or worse or the same. are you sure youre pilots are ajusted correctly? if the pilots are too far out you will get a bog off idle that can be severe enough to stall ya out unless you mash the throttle. i had that problem the very first day i bought my banshee, and it was right off the showroom floor. if i gave it 1/4 or 1/3 throttle from a slow roll it would just slow down and die. i had to turn the pilots in some because the factory techs had them misadjusted. just as an expirement try setting the pilots 1/2 turn out. it should be plenty rich like that. work youre way out from there by riding it and turning the pilots out 1/2 turn at a time untill it runs at its best. remember for pilots in=rich out=lean
  11. somebody bring rabbit ears that plug into the coax outlet on the back of a tv. ive got none for my tv.
  12. return them and use the money to buy something usefull like a timing plate.
  13. ebay
  14. sence you warmed those new plugs up before running them hard i dont think youre plug chop results will be valid. dont shop them, just keep those as spares and buy 2 more and do it by the book. its the only way to get accurite results.
  15. yeah i know about leakdown testing but i could have SWORN i read on planet sand some guys plugged in vacuum/pressure gauge into the crankcase of a 2 stroke and the needle bounced between 6psi and a vacuum when the motor was running. its a huge thread. lots of reading. they talk about the crankcase compression ratios and stuff thats just over my head. heres 1 snippet http://www.planetsand.com/ubbthreads/showf...0/fpart/14/vc/1 "As a side note, I did some real rough approximations with a 1.4 CCCR and came up with a case pressure of around 7 psi when the transfers open up. I did that ignoring the effects of the pulses, pipe tuning, ect. Just a simple compression from the piston moving down."
  16. whats ur elevation and tempature, and what clip is the needle set at.
  17. heres a fibreglas banshee tank. looks to hold about 6 gallons. http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-BANSHEE-FLAT-T...1QQcmdZViewItem
  18. for 90 mil i would let you amputate my arm with a rusty butterknife and then i would eat that entire painting.
  19. i like to run it out of gas. then i pull the fuel line and squirt an ounce of 2 stroke oil right into the fuel lne which drips down into the carb bowls coating the needle seat, jets, floats, etc. then i kick it over a bunch of times while squirting oil down the intake. next time i fire it up it smokes pretty good considering the ammount of oil thats in the carbs, but it clears up within a minute or 2. i do this for all engines that i dont plan on running for more than a few months. oil is a engines friend during storage.
  20. strictly from a performance standpoint, they all the same. each one of these companys has done their homework on dome design and each one of them run very similar shape domes. pick the cheapest one and go with it. or get the stock head rechambered and save a bunch of cash for other things.
  21. adding to what daojegr just typed, ive read that in the crankcase of a 2 stroke, pressures of up to 6psi can be seen right before the transfers are uncovered. if this is true (and i have no proof that it is) then that sounds alot like forced induction to me.
  22. i leave mine in first gear and sit on it. i rock it foreward hard enough with my body so that the engine cranks a little bit. this is enough to get it started. i just have to be quick about pulling in the clutch or it will instantly die out again. no kickstarter needed. when a reasonably stock engine is tuned properly, it should be incredibly easy to start. if you have to kick it more than a few times something is wrong. i can leave mine sitting for a month or more and jump on it and it will start by rocking it or if i use the kickstart it awalys starts on first kick.
  23. thats cool.. i guess the original posted had me confused because i never knew you could make a quick drain for the waterpump cover.
  24. uhm, theres 1 10mm bolt on each cylinder to drain coolant. its free.
