  1. I think the hight of the slides is a good guess, Is their a factory hight spec on hot far they should be open on the air box side? As far as reeds go, they have about 6 hrs all of them, they were replaced with the engine, but yes I did pull the cages and they looked great. How often does the timing get knocked off on these banshees?
  2. compression is great at 140 on each side. My timing light was screwed up. I fixed the timing light, I have good spark on both sides on every kick. I sanded the paint to get a good ground and went through all of the electrical. It has to be carbs now, they are open to far or not far enough. I did try new plugs with no luck. I disabled the tors so they can't kill the machine, anyone have a clue on what the jets should be, only engine mod is 370cc bore, k&n filter, otherwise no engine carb or exhaust mods. I think the books spec for the float may be off, the guy before me din't know what he was doing with carbs, it ran fine it was a little rich but better than too lean.
  3. Yeah, I drove 2 hours to go riding and it would'nt start, tried to fix it for a hour and half, got pissed and towed it down the road with the old faithful polaris 4x4 and popped the clutch to try to get it goin, hell at least I got to ride a little bit. I crank it over with out the plugs in with the run switch and key off and nothing comes out. the spark isnt as strong as my jet skis or ski doo but its just as much as when I got it, It would start in one-two kicks back then. so weak spark may be a problem. the only mod is a 370cc bore and it was supposably rejeted for that when it was done. I has about a 140 and 140 dead even after a few kicks. other than a k&n stock. I only use the choke on the first two kicks, thats how it always would start, it is colder now though. As far as gas goes, 92 premium 32:1 with stabil added with gas. It may as well be gettin two much gas and oil. One problem I noticed in the past was the gas cap would always have gas escaping arount it. I checked and reset the floats and they are free. I tried changing plugs. right now I have the gas tank and fenders pulled so I can get at everything. I'm running out of Ideas and my sled doesnt work well in the dirt. ::
  4. My banshee was hard to start one day, I got it started ran fine but I have not been able to get it started since, it just gets wet plugs everytime after trying to start it. I went throught the whole electrical system and everything checks out within specs. The carbs were cleaned and the seats were not leaking. It does spit gas out of the drain lines. The thing is it wont even fire, the carbs are syncd and the tors checked out as well, I'm starting to regret buying a jap quad ::
  5. My stock 94 banshee only has spark on two of five kicks, this is the reason why it won't start, it ran fine before, and one day I took it out and it would not start, i just about pushed it off a bridge that day I was so pissed! I need to get it fixed before I destroy it. I need better spark, it needs to spark on every kick on both sides to run. i have it narrowed down to the cdi and the cdi or somehow the timing got messed up. I'm thinkin its the cdi. Is their a way to test the cdi and ignition coil so I don't buy more than i need? I need to get it fixed before this weekend, or I will not get it fixed till spring. ::
  6. I have a pretty much stock 94 banshee. It has about a dozen rides on its new 370 top end. It always would start right up in 1-4 kicks, but now it will not start, the compression is great, the carbs have been sinked and gone through and new needle valves and seats. the plugs are getting wet quickley. the floats are not sticking though. Is thier crankcase drain? the primary coil checked out good. the book says the seconday is not supposed to be open from the plug wire to the primary but i think the book may be wrong their. what is the correct way to test the secondary coil? It has spark on 2 out of 5 kicks with or with out the tors diconnected. the spark isnt the best spark I have seen but its the same as it was before when it ran normal except not liking to idle all of the time. anyone had a similar problem?
  7. If I could afford a polaris with the new ktm 520 I would buy it, but banshees go so cheap where I am I had little choice, but I can say my banshee is faster than an 03 Raptor with a pipe and some mods. But I do like the torque and traction, It is'nt that easy to ride a wheelie on an stock banshee unless your in good conditions or black top. I think I may have found out why my banshee idles like Sh*t. One of the aluminum card adjusters has a hole a little smaller than a dime wore into it from a hose clamp. what is the best mod for a stock banshee to get more horsepower for Under $250? My stock air filter looks good so I am going to leave it.
  8. anyone have a new one of those new KTM powered polaris's? Trade you for a jap quad. :ninja:
  9. Every thing is stock on the quad but I am puting the boost on and the k+n. The jets are the stock size. I talked to one guy that put a boost bottle k+n and jetted it and noticed a big difference. More air and correct jets should make it run better, but it will never run like an american made quad. ::
  10. I have a 94 banshee the motor was rebuilt a year ago. It is now a true 370cc. Other than than the big bore it is stock. I want a little more power, I have a bottle boost (not installed) and I'm going to buy a K&N high flow filter. I want to know the exact jet size I need. I just need 2 main jets right? But what size, the carbs are stock from what I know, I need to readjust the floats because it won't idle well and leaks a little gas out of the bottom card lines. any info will help.
  11. I have two new Prowedge Tires on steel itp rims. The rims are used but have no dents or dings and in excellent condition the tires are new prowedges 22x10x9. They are drilled for two different patterns. One looks like it will fit a banshee, the other i don't know, about 4 1/4 on one center to center and 5 1/8 drilled pattern. they hold air great. And look like they will work in the snow too. $80 for both tires on the rims. I will ship but I will have to find out how much it will be. In Minnesota, possible delivery. :yelrotflmao:
  12. I have a bashee, with a 94 chassis and engine, everything was new or rebuilt in 04. It runs fine but I'm going to add a bootle boost. The engine is stock other than the 370cc bore. What mods do I have to do to the carbs, what jets and sizes to I need. what bottle boost brand is the best? Would I need to rejet again if I add a K&N filter? If so what jets would I use them? Thanks any info would help.
