nsk 11 ball crankshaft bearing
trickedcarbine replied to impala66k's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Off the top of my head, I think they are BL-305. I will look back in my garage garage later when I get some time -
Well, people can argue about wich is better all day. But me, I choose to shut the fuck up and be stoked that the fact that jim and gary came up with a pipe that fits and it forced Mat to get his shit together!

http://www.customfighters.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51542 this is only one of a hand full of break downs on the parting of Stephan and Wayne. Stephan was the Investment and Customer relations while Wayne was responsible for the R&D. Problem was Wayne flaked out on his end. I have been following the RZ/RD scene and this has been a continuing catastrophe for a while now. There are over 400 Cheetah cylinders ruined, 1000 cranks unusable, and the powervalves are garbage. Nothing tested before machining! JEEZ! I am stoked Stephan realized it was time to part ways, to bad he lost his ass while some one else toyed with dreams.

Aftermarket Domes with top end rebuild?

Ok, thanks fellas for the help. Got an easy no fab way from BBIII. He was kind enough to elaborate in shout. So for any one looking for a fast way to do this, here goes. Use a right front YFZ front caliper. Line it up with the holes on the caliper stay plate using one of the bolt holes on the caliper. Then mark the plate on the caliper through the un used hole on the bracket. Drill the mark and tap it for the same sized bolt. I will probably whip one up soon and do a write up for the technical section. Thanks BB for the short cut.
-
Yeah nick the brembo on the Ducati is an opposing pisdon design. WAY STOUT! Thanks for the pics nick. BBIII, what was your set up for the banshee? I know o e of the fronts will be better, but left or right or does it not matter? Can I use the 450 caliper stay on a regular aftermarket round house? If it is all interchangeable I will go for the 450, but if I have to fab a bracket I Will do one of those opposed brembo calipers. They are unbelievably cheap. Same as 450 stuff.
-
Hell if I end up having a custom plate done, I will probably go with a really nice brembo unit ore one of the gnarly shifter cart calipers like you see all the euro guys converting to. Here is a good candidate http://www.ebay.com/itm/230834637399?redirect=mobile

Thanks for the pics man. That is 450 part correct? By the way, that eBay link is the exact part I am referring to. I wonder if it would just go on my carrier and swinger combo? Then I can shim the caliper out where it needs to be and maybe cut a new rotor. I am also about to get bigger rotors cut for the front 450 swap to utilize the entire pad surface
-
I have saw your write up many times. That is still a possibility, but I prefer the newer modern parts. But a rebuilt 250r caliper isn't outta the question. If you could slap that 450 caliper stay on the banshee round house carrier and swinger and let me know if it lines up it would be appreciated. ( is it early or late 450 plate) As for the rotor, I would just get JD to buzz me one up. But I think it either needs to be the bracket or the rotor. So if I have to make a plate, I will just cut it to float the caliper over stock diameter banshee disk for easier replacement parts. Either way I don't think it will be complicated. I just don't have the part in my hand yet to check fitment etc.
-
I know they are definitely pretty different. I just wish someone with a stock 450 could tell me if their plate is similar to aftermarket roundhouse swing arm caliper plates. otherwise I might just water jet a plate. but the newer 450 plates are like 10 bucks so in comparison to getting one cut it would be a huge savings. man it sure would be tits to own a bandsaw for metal!

My bike has sat almost a year and now that the new motor is in it I have got some time on the chassis and it is definitely time to freshen some things up again. I have replaced all the bearings, and seals now, and after a recent ball joint catastrophe I am tearing the whole front end off and re assembling it with fresh ball joints and bushings. I have always ran the Delron bushings and they are ok, but would there be any benefit to running the bronze style bushings?
-
I am gonna do a 450 rear caliper swap on my bike but I am wondering if the rear 450 caliper's bolt pattern is the same as the banshee's bolt pattern like the fronts are? If so I can just shim it on the current caliper plate that is mounted on my round house swinger. If it is different, does any one know if the newer style stock 450 rear caliper plate would mount up on a round house swinger just like an aftermarket plate would?

I love my C12! I was gonna try q16 out on my ultra compression domes! It just burns my lungs when I'm around it.

Whats everyones thoughts on the 2-1 setup?
trickedcarbine replied to turbowrenchhead's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Snomo manifold off an early yamaha 440 exciter! I am serious. The Trinity and Chariot just choke it off and they are the units most have tested and got bogus results from. with the proper manifold/carb combo it can work. Just steer clear of the 2/1 pipes though. My buddy has a 38mm on a clean up port 4mm set up with the manifold off my old snomo, and that shit is killer for trails. It doesnt fall on its face in the revs either. every one will bash me for it, but they have never tested anything but gimmic era 2/1 manifolds -
This thread is as useless as tits on a bull! But it's so hard to look away!

Haha big red! I totally didn't even catch that shit! I just read through it and at the end saw recent posts and threw in my two cents. Not to mention it seemed legit now that Daj is back to the forums and the whole first few pages is a back and forth like the sniper thread Damn you turbowrenchhead! Haha

In theory you are right! I have had my upp manifolds with the boost bottle in my sig on the dyno and the torque curve actually started about 4/500 rpm earlier and I picked up 2 ft. lbs. after pulling the boost bottle. Daj, I know you arent much for the dyno shit, but in that scenario it proved the boost bottle to be bunk junk or a gimmick if you will. Duncan's intake is not junk, but there is some level of gimmick. ALL of their products are decade old designs and they were good at that time. However the advancement of banshee engine development has progressed else where while duncan has moved on to other things. It's like telling me the old 6.5 diesel is better then the new Duramax. They have GOOD stuff but current banshee specific builders have INSANE stuff. I will give credit where it is due though and make it known that Duncan has dominated at Pikes Peak with their program on a banshee, however there were a lot of other heads involved in that. DRI, sorry man. I'm not sure you will have any one on board with you. I have held their national cylinders in my hand and looked at them with my eyes. They were done by Loren, and they don't compare to my passion cylinders! Or fast cylinders. Or the stuff I have seen from tony doukas. There are guys still just putting R&D in to what is said to be a dieing breed and proving that there is still more to be had, while others like Duncan, CT, LRD, etc. have all moved on to the four stroke movement.

Rockets give me a boner! Need to nitro plate or chrome mine. The way they come on is like a turbo charged car. Lotta builders don't like them, but I feel if they had the time to diddle with them they could really have a great overall package. Seems like they have a weird flat spot on pump gas motors. My set up seems to have enough timing and compression to make it feel non existent. Even on the old motor in my sig you didnt even see it on the dyno or feel it on the track. Years ago 50/60 HP trail motors were tits. Now guys want 80! So there needs to be some extreme change in pipe availability for us. Whether it be shearer steps it up in quality, or Jim and Gary manage to get the price down and availability on the snipers. I really don't care. We need more in frame options for the new level of motors we are seeing. My take on the pipes. The sniper was advertised for the ye ol' 421 cub. It was advertised as 10 HP over the cub, bit of an embellishment........ So for the motor they were truly designed for, they are performing close to the shearer According to any of the valid info. What it comes down to is Shearers perform great and fit like a sumo wrestler in a new fiat. Snipers perform good to excellent, yet actually fucking fit. Take your pic, it's your dollar fellas. I will keep my gay ass rockets So griff was nice enough to loan ya his motor? That mean he is puttsing around the trails on a redline 10 mil?

THIS THREAD HAS AIDS!
-
That is the classic ol' rocket pipe! Mostly due to the large chamber volume. I remedy that with timing and compression. Not sure if either are good for the serval though as not much info is out like that for them. Pretty kick ass how they sing to ya when just cruising at low throttle. It's like they come on really fast for a second then flatten out then just explode! Nearly unnoticeable on my new passion Ice/TT motor though.

Fuck yo Kia ninja! They do suck! Haha
