  1. ha I know i just got carried away in the making of the tread! They dont let you on the track without all the safety gear on and even with all the proper safety equipment things can go wrong.
  2. So its been 2 weeks now since I was riding my banshee on the flat track, got a little too far sideways, and rolled her a few times! Only damage to the quad was some bent bars, to me I got a nice broken collarbone sticking outta my skin! On the fast track to recovery eager to get riding again. Basically I wanna hear other stories of hospital trips/injurys that come from riding the fasted quad made! So lets hear some lessons that you gotta learn the hard way!
  3. Turns out the manual torque specs werent quite enough! I just went around all the nuts on the head and gave each a few more degrees with the wrench and it sealed it right up, makes me feel better now i can get break it in and ride it already!
  4. Yes brand new headgasket, came with a full gasket kit. I used the proper torque spec. and procedure too. Tomorrow im gonna snug the nuts on the head down a tad bit more if all it needs is to get squshed that little bit more.
  5. Just put in a new top end on my banshee. Its runs fine but has a coolant leak coming from the headgasket coming through the UP sign on the headgasket on the inside of the motor??? Anyone ever come across this? Only leaks when system is pressurized.
  6. its got trinity 2:1 intake with a single keihin pwk 35 mm carb. Trinity Stage 4 pipes, no porting has been done. Sitting at just under 1000 ft elevation
  7. Rejetting my quad for this summer. The only part im having trouble with is which pilot jet I should order. Currently in the bike is a 55 size jet and will not idle from the extra fuel its getting, so i am bringing the size down. They sell them in sizes 52, 50,48,45,42,40,38. Since I have to order id like to get close the first try. Any advice would be great. Thanks!
  8. Thank you very much for the information. I looked around the internet and everyone else said the same thing. Its weird that i never had a coolant leak before the rebuild??? Unless they fell out uppon dissasembly....either way ill have them ordered by monday so i can finish my build! thanks much!
  9. Was putting together my top end and i was reading in the service manual theres a rubber coolant plug on each cylinder that goes on the exhaust side. When I took it apart i didnt see anything like that and so am wondering what will happen if there is no plug in there? Thanks
  10. Just got my cylinders back from machining and there not .040 over. Just wanted to know if anyone has done the math and know off hand what cc i am at now. thanks
  11. For the sprockets i just buy the JT sprockets off of ebay for like $20. Ive got a 12, 14, and 17 tooth and different length chains for each. The sized you kinda gotta play around with, it kinda sounds like youve got two different riding ratios. For dunes i would want a high top speed but not too much that it takes away youracceleration, and for trail riding it would be the opposite. If i had to throw some numbers out there id say go maybe a 13 for trail and 16 or 17 for dunes. If you only wanted to have one sprocket then id keep stock, but this is just my opinion. For chains i havent messed with them very much so i wouldnt be a great advice giver on that!
  12. When I drained my oil outta my quad i noticed it being a little milky so i can only assume its the 0 ring that goes on the coolant hose that connects the water pump to the head. My question is if anyone knows where i can get an exact replacement one for it? I dont want to have to just go to the hardware store and pick anyone out and hope its right because clutch cover gaskets can add up over time $$$! Any help would be great thanks!
  13. Running a higher onctane is not a big deal to me at all. The crankshaft if the only thing I am worried about with deciding dome sizes. I am at 900ft altitude
  14. Trying to decide what size domes to order for my quad. As far as I know my crank is completely stock and dont know what compression they will hold up to? I wanted to go 20cc but dont want to if I have to remove the crank. Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Also what is stock head cc???
  15. If i get the stock head rechambered though how small of a dome can i before i would acutally need a cool head to control the higher compression temps? I wanted to get to a 20cc domes
