  1. Quater inch is a lot. Get some new cushions. Is there any sideXside slop or just rotational?
  2. I always used feeler gauges on stockers to get the slide height the same. Then just eyeball it real good to see that they move together. Like dude above said, it helps to put them on your finger tips so you can actually feel the difference to.
  3. That is definitely a 3.27/3.28 ratio. You sure you counted right?
  4. Damn right it ain't pretty!
  5. YAHTZI! Good write up. I literally almost went that same route. I am interested in the Clark tank with a sump on each side because I am getting pretty serious with my oval bike. It would probably be a good idea to keep the fuel over the pet cock, which my current set up isn't. And my bowls only do so much.
  6. You might have a bent stud/studs. I would just start with a pile of fresh studs. Jeff at fast stocks them and can probably have them to ya by the weekend. even more so, how bad would it suck to put that thing on and go to torque everything down and the janky stud snaps?
  7. CLYMER! Chilton or Haynes won't touch it....
  8. I hear that. Clutch alone isn't his answer, but part of it. The bog up top is another issue under load. I just don't think changing the whole swinger and any related parts will help fix that. As of now he knows he has traction, and I would imagine taming it will help then allow him to figure out what is going on once the bike is loaded up and bogging.
  9. Feeler gauges at the bottom of the slides and a very good eye. Just set the slides at the right height and open and close the throttle very slowly a few times to make sure they are opening at the same time/rate
  10. DAJ used to run a strut bar with Rod ends that went from the frame to a bolt hole in the case. Think that was a pretty slick set up. Loco, did you move to solid motor mounts on the under side of the frame as well?
  11. AV isn't really dirty fuel or bad fuel. Remember it does need to meet a standard which lives are at stake. The reason to run it is because you can get more octane then pump with out paying out your ass. There are a ton of people who blend fuel and with av fuel you get about the same result. Back before major companies were making oxygenated fuels, AV fuel was the go to fuel for high altitude performance snowmobiles and mountain riders of any genre. Only down side I see to it is the fact that it doesn't store very well for long term periods.
  12. They are close, for a warm day..... We are still coming out of winter.
  13. That's awesome! There is a Clark tank that mounts two separate OEM petcocks.
  14. Wow! You should keep an eye out on a nice used motor already done, but if you are insistant on doing it your self tear that thing apart and call FAST ASAP!
  15. You will be faster in the rigid. Just fate slapping you in the face for trying to run to fast in a stock chassis with out additional modification. Don't get to fat sitting around and healing up. Best of luck.
  16. Finally got rid of her, huh?
  17. Simple, as big a motor you can afford and hang on to.
  18. Try a 310 and raise the needle one clip.
  19. What type of mods are on the bike these carbs at going on? Your pilot seems way rich for the average bike
  20. Gonna take a lot more then a dingy shot of the intake in the dark to determine what style of port you have.
  21. Shit, that Mitty vac is the answer to your endless front brake bleed sessions
  22. There as an awesome Avenger swing arm in the forsale section for a solid price.
  23. I like the idea of the dyna you can program your self. I would really love to use one for my oval bike. That way I can really wick the timing out of the turns and retard it on the longer straights to keep the over rev
  24. There is no point buying a hot rods stock stroke. Just find a used stock crank in good shape and send it to a builder to be checked over and trued and welded. For that price of the hot rods you can have the stroker and it is just as reliable. I get what the old man is saying but just save some coin if that's the way you wanna go. Also, check out many of the HQ site sponsors. They will have the better deals on banshee stuff.
