  1. Sounds about right to me. Pj's are easy to tune once you come to grips with how much attention they need. Hope you get it dialed in. That is a bitchin machine. Wish I could afford to give it a new home right now.
  2. That bad
  3. Av is nice, if VP is available and you got coin it's nice. To really take full advantage of the expensive fuel you need to have a builder set up domes for it.

  5. Your correct on your assumption. Lots of MX motors are 55-65 ish. Most dune porting tends to make motors in the 70-85 hp. Granted these numbers are if the rest of the set up package is there. An MX motor should have a pretty linear curve from bottom through mid and taper off a bit abrupt through 8500-9,000 in my opinion. Maybe with the right tweaks it could fall off less abrupt and more gradual. A dune motor should be pretty strong from the transition off the bottom end through to the top end with a minimal fall off feeling at the top. Albeit many dune motors now a days with 4mil cranks and porting, compression, and timing are pulling stumps from way down low and charge hard well past 9,000. It really is pretty crazy what guys are getting these things to do compared to 20 years ago. As for your question about an trail/ MX port vs. Drag port. The MX port will be more suited to coming on and delivering power from what feels like idle through half throttle with somewhat less pull through the rest. The power is much broader and feels much more snappy. Compared to a typical drag set up, they are more suited to half to full wide open throttle. If you were to ride a. Good drag set up you can feel the throttle response is a bit less and it feels like the motor is much more tame in the bottom till the intake exhaust velocity gets up there a bit. Then it starts to really charge till it's redlined. The thing is, so many builders do things different so one guys aggressive trail port is another guys dune port. Call and talk to a few different guys and see what they say matches what you want. Ask them about what you need and how they think it should be dialed in.
  6. Ok, I must say that there was a point when it looked like BHQ was slowing down and I either went to PS or ATVDRA for more technical info. After all, how often would Mat Shearer or Tony Doukas come here and do a breakdown on anything.( Tony gets on here now) There just wasn't many builders getting involved here like the drag forums. I know they are busy and only have a little time to post but they went to those sites to post not here, so there was something right about them. But as windy stated it began to slow and content was nonexistent except for sale sections. If there was a way to pick up the leftover pieces from both PS and ATVDRA I would think Brett is trying to make it happen. It's not like he's trying to get his own gain out of it or steal someone's idea. He's all about progression of the sport. So skip, I must say your interjection is a bit lofty. Yeah you had a good thing for a while but your post makes it sound like you feel like people owe you something.
  7. Atv galaxy?
  8. +3 is fine. Remember, it's the lower arm with the stress on it. There are tons of desert trucks that have J arm suspension design on them and they are awesome.
  9. Meh, or not with the JB Weld. Green hit it on the head on the proper way.
  10. Ya, are you sure about that 110 part that is usually the rod dimension on domes isn't it?
  11. That^
  12. Some sticks are not to shabby. I've got a Denton I'm about to rebuild because it is damn well worth it.
  13. On that note, do those old school 8-10 plate style modified stock covers allow quick access to the plate on a sling shot?
  14. This^ or motion pro cable is ok to. Maybe a lock up if you got the extra cash.
  15. Get with BansheeHP on here. He knows lane pretty well.
  16. Diggin that seat man. Looks killer.
  17. Shit, re read that and someone already posted the answer. Sorry to thread mine.
  18. Ok, finally bought the last few remaining parts to rebuild my 4 mil, now it's back to buying expensive junk for the Twister. I'm hoping to get the exhaust next month. I already have Shearer small bore small flange inframes and Rockets but this thing will be over 500cc so I'm thinking I need to get a set of big bore pipes. But with this cylinder I can run either small or big flange. So would any one think I should opt for the big flange as well? The bike is basically hot lapped for 15/20 laps, so I'm not sure if a motor that big will be ok with just the big bore or if I need the bigger flange as well? (64 stroke X 75 bore, on race fuel)
  19. Those look pretty trick.
  20. Leave it be. It's getting tore down. In fact as you are sending it to a builder, just drain all fluids. Then tip it forward to get coolant out of it. The shipping companies are delighted when you send a motor dry..... No need to over think this. My only concern is why you need a rebuild. If it's coolant related, tear it down now or it'll ruin everything.
  21. My thoughts exactly. The guy on Facebook is Cotton Racing. Those are bad ass. Not sure why everybody is shutting down their web pages and just floating around on Facebook. That shit is so inconvenient if you are not on Facebook. Plus that shit is dieing.
  22. Dear god, wear a diaper first trip. Dan makes these things fly. Especially if folks got monies for the big stuff.
  23. Check the actual splines on the axle. Get fresh hubs Ditch huge heavy ITP SS wheels Check pivot bearings and sleeve Get quality tires and wheels. Maybe balance them.
  24. No point in doing the conversion. Kits are hard to get if you can even find one readily for sale. Just do an A Arm chassis or get some new J Arms. There are a few guys making really nice J Arms and several folks kicking the shit out of 'em.
  25. T Rex's are pretty much out dated. However if you can pick up one of them for bottom dollar and have money left for someone like TDR go through it and get it reconfigured for common pistons and have some porting and domes, it may be worth it. Honestly though, a new serval would be far easier and the parts are every freakin where!
