  1. even so, the current will flow through the switch, so the switch needs to be rated higher than the current flowing through it. the smaller switches also have a lower current rating. so if you find a switch you want and it isn't rated for the current, you can use a relay and your switch to turn the lights on/off.
  2. One thing you might consider is putting a smaller less durable switch in your throttle housing and running a couple of wires down along your throttle cable to keep them out of view. The housing can be made water tight easy enough. Just make sure the switch is rated for the current the headlights draw, or use a relay for the main switching, and the small switch to trip the relay.
  3. I've read that 3 times now and have come to the conclusion that you are either getting a blow job as you type, or typing faster than normal because you are holding back a big beefy shit. The 16% increase is in area, not diameter. But, I think you are correct in saying that you should gain some better throttle response. Overall, in terms of peak HP, you may not notice that much, because ultimately, if you are jetting correctly your intake velocities will be similar given the small size difference in the area.
  4. The pics I've seen of frames with Rhino Liner look like hell to me. However, if you beat on yer shee doing alot of trails and what not, then I could possibly see having it done. Powdercoating is definitely preferrable for me anyway.
  5. They're almost identical in performance (the XBOX360 and PS3) and price, if you buy the add-on HD-DVD ROM for the XBOX. I have a PS3 and have no complaints. I'd also like a 360 at some point.
  6. yes, if the last 4 numbers are 6500 and like Jankab said, it means you are at .040 over not .020
  7. It still could actually be jetting, it's hard to say. I'd be willing to bet that even on flat ground you can't pull 6th gear. If that's the case, then jetting could very well be your problem. Up the hill, it's definitely gonna put more load ont he motor, and if your jetting is off, it seems to narrow the RPM range that your motor will run good at, so shifting to a higher gear may put you just under the RPM that you need to be running for your motor to pull out of. To me the 330 main jet seems small for a ported motor with T5's. And the needle definitely seems very lean. If anything, I'd try moving the clip on the needle down a notch or 2 to give it more fuel through your half to 3/4 throttle points. I've heard of guys running close to a 400main jet with a dune port with T5's at sea level. It could very well be your float levels too, like previously mentioned. The fact that you have to take off in 1st gear with 13/41 gearing with a dune ported motor and T5's makes me suspicious as well. Your bike should pull 2nd gear with that gearing no problem unless you are running some 22" or taller paddles. This also would lead me to believe that you could be lean on your jetting. Good luck
  8. What size are the haulers including rim diameter? I ran stock 14/41 gearing with my 21" 10paddle extremes, on an 8" rim with my 4mm and it seemed just right. Our hills aren't near as big as the ones in Glamis though, so you might end up with a different setup, dunno. Mine was just right though, cause I could launch hard in 2nd and have good power all the way through 5th
  9. Still think your duner was the best looking banshee I've ever seen! Happy Birthday, man
  10. I'd definitely consider the 4mm crank with your dune port. 4mm dune ported motors will beat about 95% of the bikes out there in the dunes, assuming you have the right gearing/paddles/swingarm.
  11. there are probably a couple of reasons it says to add coolant to the overflow rather than the radiator. first, to get to the radiator, you gotta pull the shroud off - so, it's more easily accessible than the radiator. second, if the bike is hot and you jerking the cap off the radiator, it could result in injury from a nice steam burn since the radiator is pressurized and reach temperatures above normal boiling points. there are some other reasons too, but it's really not a big deal whichever way you choose if the bike is cooled off. you'll just spill more on the ground and have some spit out the overflow of the radiator.
  12. No worries there, big fella. No, I've never been beat by a FAST bike, nor have I ever seen one. No, I'm not jealous of Jeff's success. No, I'm not pissed at Jeff because I took him to the prom, spent an assload of cash, threw a burger down his throat, and he still wouldn't put out. No, I wasn't abducted by aliens and lobotomized. Yes, there is more to the story, but who really cares? Yes, we will have to agree to disagree. I simply thought it was funny that he got busted for doing the same shit that I've busted his balls on here for so many times. I had zero to do with it, nor am I affiliated with Charlie or Planet Sand.
  13. I had visions of grandeur in mind when I hit the reply button here, but it's getting close to football time, and I need to get my head in the game. I won't apologize for anything I've said, and those that know me understand my frustration with said builder. Those that don't know me, well, suffice it to say that I think of myself as a consumer advocate. Congress has taken time out of its busy schedule to pass legislation for solicitation of people on the "do not call list". Software companies have made millions of dollars writing SPAM filters for email. I laud the above efforts immensely. So, what does this have to do with Jeff at the mighty FAST racing empire? I challenge you to click on the ol' FASTOYS username and look at his last 100 posts, hell, however many he has. Then come back and tell me that his self-promotional sales pitches aren't completely SPAM. You say he's good for the sport and good for HQ, show me how many technical questions he answers here. Let me guess, he doesn't have time to come on here and answer everyone's questions right? Well, he seems to have plenty of time to hit the wanted section and send PM's out daily, or do searches for people looking to get advice on upgrades, so he can put his foot forward and pitch a sale. I call buillshit. I think he got what was coming to him on Planet Sand, the premier site for the big builders. Anyway, there ya go.
  14. Samsung makes a camcorder that I want... http://www.samsung.com/products/camcorder/...emory/index.asp They come with the helm cam, and it's all flash storage, so it could take a real beating, I'd assume.
  15. You can't be serious... And there's a clear distinction between bitter and annoyed.
  16. If that link is broken, just do a search of FASTOYS last 35 posts. Pretty much all of them have a link to his VForce3 Reed cage sale. It is a fairly decent price though. Then you could put the "Are you F.A.S.T. enough" catch phrase in your sig too and gain instant notoriety.
  17. I just can't seem to find the F.A.S.T. racing website. Can anyone send me a link? I'm curious if he carries VForce3 reed cages. :shoothead:
  18. wouldn't be the first time that someone disagreed with me, no biggie  I'm guessing those karts you speak of use a fuel pump too though right? again I was speaking from my experiences, and I've seen more banshee's being towed back from the flats than anywhere else in the dunes. whether it be from detonation, jetting, or running your bowls dry, putting a motor under that type of load for extended times is going to expose any problems that might have otherwise gone unnoticed.
  19. powdercoating your cylinders will easily withstand the heat. they bake it at a much higher temp than the cylinders will get, provided you have water in them
  20. The cost of performance follows almost an exponential curve. 7 g's for a frame might seem ridiculous when your bike is worth 2500. But, when you are talking about a big triple motor where the cases run 3 grand, the 7 grand for the frame doesn't seem like that big of a deal. Look at the going rate for some of those HS Customs bikes that get sold. Last one I saw had a 30k price tag on it. As for the 7g price tag, it must be worth it, because people buy them. Titanium ain't cheap, and it ain't cheap to fabricate and weld correctly either.
  21. Pinning your throttle for long periods of time rev'd out in the same gear is a good recipe for disaster. I'd bet that more top ends are blown along the flats than anywhere else from my experience doing exactly that thing. Also, keep in mind that your motor will make it's peak torque much sooner in RPM than what your bike will rev to.
  22. haha, you bastard I just douched my shirt with Dew
  23. Racism is a terrible thing, IMO, but I believe everyone is racist to a degree. If 2 7/11's were adjacent to one another with the same pricing, service, etc....one had 5 adolescent white kids loitering out front and the other had 5 adolescent black kids out front, I could guarantee that white people would use one and blacks would use the other. Shit, look at the OJ verdict.....plain as day in your face racial boundaries. Most racial slurs I've heard have either been from tasteless jokes that everyone laughs at, or from desperation in a heated situation. If I was out with my girlfriend and a hispanic guy was giving me or my girlfriend shit, and it was gonna come down to a fight, there's no telling what I'd tell him, even though I have tons of family in California that I can't even pronounce their name properly, they are so Mexican. Does it make me a racist? Personally, I could give a shit about Kanye West, Kramer whatever the f his name is, Dave Chapelle, Mel Gibson, etc. Nobody is perfect. If you don't like them, don't put money in their pockets.
  24. Been a Cowboys fan for 30 years now, don't see a reason to quit. My 2nd favorite team is whoever is playing another NFC East team. College, I'm not too loyal, except for Oregon State. I like any college team that runs a pro style offense. Cracks me up watching option offenses or seeing a wishbone backfield. There's no place in the big show for that, no matter how big you were in college...ask Tommy Frasier.
