what kind of intake and v-force2s or 3s
odaen replied to yama_dog_350's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Grand River Racing A&S Dynoedge Think those guys are all in Michigan that I've heard of. This time of year, good luck getting your cylinders back any time soon. Boss makes a nice intake for the money, with the built in crossover tube. My builder's always recommended Vforce 3's to me over the 2's, but it seems most are split over the 2's and 3's. Good luck on the build. Sounds like you got a nice bike from the mods you listed. -
which did he consider the stupid part? the neon green or powdercoating them? haha, just ball bustin' :yelrotflmao:
-
chrome them bitches....they'll look better anyway
-
Think you will find that most people would definitely not recommend powdercoating your stock a-arms. The ball joints aren't replaceable and will be damaged by the oven temperature.

What he said... The blue factory plastics are probably the worst offenders for getting these stress marks. They always look like hell from them.

DON'T DO IT, DEREK!! Stay away from the light! You know you'll be buying this shit again in a few months, and have to pay new prices on it :: :: ::

If it's not licensed or tagged from your state, the ones in Oregon are only like $11 for 2 years. You can buy them at pretty much any bike shop. If you drive your truck on the sand at all, it will need a flag and permit as well.

7inch swinger for a 350 on pump gas doesn't seem like it would help matters with traction either. A 4 over would be plenty for your motor. But like others have said, scoot back on the seat some to put more weight over the tires, gear it up, and keep tweaking it. It will take some time to find what your optimal setup will be.

I'd bump down to a 27.5 pilot, you're pretty rich at an idle. The 320 sounds, if anything, slightly rich to me for your setup at 1100 feet. What did your plugs look like when you did a plug check? Make sure you don't have any air leaks on the intake side of things, because that would cause a lean condition.

Damn, that's gotta suck, man. I've been there myself though....not in the exact same way though. Like everyone else said, it will be worth it in the end.

My wave rotor got bent once, so I just took a large crescent wrench and tightened it down over the rotor and bent it back straight, worked fine for me. Just pick the rear of the bike up and spin the wheels, you can watch the rotor as you spin it. It will hang at the "high spots"

Might want to check out your water pump impellar. Next time your bike is running, make sure that water is circulating while it's running. Did it run smooth in 6th, able to rev out? How much ignition timing are you running?
-
Basically, your plugs will fire 4 degrees of crank rotation advanced from stock. It will give your bike better low and mid-range torque. Too much advance can cause detonation and burn a top end up in no time flat. Typically, the more you advance your timing, the higher the octane of gas you will have to use.

http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74296 Vforce3 reeds for $110, that's not too shabby
-
for gain right now, I'd go with some vforce reeds or you could probably buy reeds and a coolhead if you go the used route, or carbs for that matter. your head has been milled, so a coolhead won't really buy you much, except for flexibility going forward

I had a bike shipped from Texas last year, and I think it was right at $400 through Forward Air. For a crate, just grab 2 pallets and tie them together with a 2X4. Then, I think you can use 1/2 plywood or pressboard for the rest of the box, just frame it in with some 2X4's. Pretty simple, and that way you don't have to reserve and wait for one of their crates. He dropped it off on a Friday, and I picked it up the following Wednesday.

I think if I was coming from Canada, I'd hit Florence, Winchester, and Coos Bay. They're all within 45 miles of each other, with Winchester right in the middle. I think they each have their pros/cons, but all are very good riding. No offense to the Sand Lake fans, but that place is nothing compared to the larger areas mentioned above. Probably 1/10 the size and almost as many people riding. Give us a heads up when you make it down, i'm sure some HQ'ers would meet up with ya and show you around and drink some of your beer as well.

Yeah, I sent all of mine to TCS......fast turnaround, best pricing I could find.

A couple had been married for 50 years. They were sitting at the breakfast table one morning when the wife says, "Just think, fifty yearsago we were sitting here at this breakfast table together." "Iknow," the old man said. "We were probably sitting here naked a! s a jay bird fifty years ago." "Well," Granny snickered. "Let's relive some oldtimes." Where upon, the two stripped to the buff and sat down at the table. "You know, honey," the little old lady breathlessly replied, "My nipples are as hot for you today as they were fifty years ago." "I wouldn't be surprised,"replied Gramps. "One's in your coffee and the other is in your oatmeal."

The toomey kit does come with new richer needles though, and I've yet to see them for sale anywhere. But, yeah, the 270 and 280 mains are worthless unless you run with your airbox and no snorkel or something. I ended up with 330's at sea level with mine and K&N pods

Some scarey shit, but I agree with BigRed350x, hands down, I'd take a set of CPI's over Shearers for a dune bike.
-
man, alot to break down in that question... rod length has nothing to do with stroke and has no effect on displacement some builders recommend spacer plates, others recommend cutting the domes or head to allow for the piston to rise above the deck. displacement is not effected by crank case volume. displacement is the a measure of the volume that is displaced by your piston as it rises and falls within the cylinder(s)

I'd guess that most builders would offer this service. I know cameron does, his link is in my sig. As far as gains, I dunno. I bought some used ones that had been bored already to 27.5, but that motor dyno'd at almost 80HP on pump gas. I'm sure I could've gotten more with bigger carbs, but they seemed to work just fine for my budget and needs.
