  1. awesome looking bike, well thought out. Would like to see some vids
  2. Nicely done!
  3. I wouldn't use the tz bearings unless you use straight cut gears, read the thread in the Drag Forum, maxload should be fine for a 4mm Serval.
  4. I bought my carbs from F.A.S.T. along with #148, 152, 155 and 158 main jets, CEL needles and 48 pilots. From my research here I knew this to would put me in the ball park. The main jets are $4.50 each. The carbs came with CEG needles, possibly #45 pilots, can't remember the main jet size. I started with the largest (most rich) main jet, the CEL needle on the middle clip and 48 pilots. The bike started 1st kick and I 'plug chopped' my way down to 148 mains and maybe a clip up from the middle on the needle, can't remember. Your elevation is closer to sea level than mine, so the air should be denser which means you require a larger main jet size than mine. All bikes are different though and you will have to find this out by yourself. Read the many jetting articles, including the ones by Sredish and BenBB on how to jet and plug chop. Only change one thing at a time and remember what you changed and what the result was. That's about the best I can do for you, the main jets listed above should put you close to where you need to be.
  5. welcome! The 358 Cheetah Cub uses the stock crank, ie. not stroked (bore 65 x stroke 54) If it is a 385 Cheetah Cub, then it's probably a 4mm (65 x 58) 384.92cc Good luck and post some pictures in the Images Section once you have it.
  6. Old thread
  7. Thanks 358, I've ordered one.
  8. The easiest visual difference between a cub and a serval. The serval has 'SC' cast on the roof of one of the intakes
  9. Mine: GRR ported, stock stroke, K&N in the box, VFII, 33PWK's, FMF Fattys, 1800'ASL 148mains, CEL and 45 pilots
  10. Like 358 said, you need access to a machine shop. Could throw in some wicked designs for the rings.
  11. beadlocks or reinforcing rings? Big difference... I got a set of stock rims with welded reinforcing rings in a trade a long time ago, doesn't look too difficult.
  12. payment sent, thanks
  13. PM'd on case saver
  14. If you don't want the lock-up, then maybe consider a good clutch with heavy springs and a hydraulic clutch lever. lms1977 is running a 10mm serval, hopefully he can add to the discussion. I will be using the FAST clutch with a Magnum billet basket, soft springs and the mattoon lock-up. 33PWK's, Sniper inframes, 6" K&N pods, VFII, dual pingel. Still thinking about the tranny mod...
  15. You're missing the clip around the bearing. The outer most groove is for the ridge on the shaft seal.
  16. You can't go wrong with M&M ATV. I would stick to the site sponsors where possible. Have you spoken to Jeff from F.A.S.T.? I bought my 4mm serval from Jeff and was very happy with the excellent service and the price. (as an example of good service; USPS made a mistake with my clutch shipment to South Africa and Jeff went well beyond what was expected to sort it out and he did)
  17. Wow, a $1000 is a lotta clutch... If money is no object, sure... For my 4mm Serval I chose a F.A.S.T. clutch and billet basket, light springs with matoon lock-up and matoon modified stock cover.
  18. merry, marry
  19. Nice, I'll be following this thread closely.
  20. Awesome! Congrats.
  21. Not sure, maybe he meant that with the new modification the effective length of the swingarm with axle in place is 3/4 shorter than stock? For sure a less expensive way to convert to a roundhouse carrier, I might try it when I have time...
  22. Posted by Whitbread in another thread...
