anybody need a stock timing plate
Dinner replied to smokin 2 stroke's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Will you take a money order? Interested! -
I would go with one of the exhaust systems off Ebay. I will be getting 4" straight for my truck in the spring and it's only going to cost $275 US for aluminized, or i can even get stainless for about $325(I drive a CTD). Either straight pipe, or high flow muffler. I'm not a big fan of Flow Master, etc for Diesels because they are prices way to high for the same thing any other brand will do. As Loco said go with the no name brand's, don't pay just for the name. Banks Diesel Performance, sure it helps with performance, but there are better chips, programmers, boost elbows, exhausts, etc out there for cheaper! Look around some and see what you can find. Good Topic  I'v been thinking about taking cylinders off and cleaning them up a bit  For the guys that have posted. What area was your port work done?

:yelrotflmao: Yea it's -20 right now around here, and the last little while we've gotten a bit of snow, we got over 1 foot the one day/night but that's about it. Now it's just like 15 cm from last night. I'v been out snowmobiling about 3 times this year

I have also wondered this, cause I have a sled shop around me with loads of old and new sleds, so I could pick up a set of carbs for cheap  I was thinking maybe some 28's if i could find some good ones that I think would work.

Yes I agree, but all i ment was that you should not try to change your fuel mixture to get the appropriate spark plug colour. I've seen many people come on here and think that their bike is running rich, so why not just lean out the mixture. Yes that will help, but you have to actually take apart the carb and jet it accordingly. That's all i was trying to say

Won't shut off? Will start in off position
Dinner replied to cbryant_2's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Mine will only start when on "On" but won't shut off. I took the switch apart and noticed the soldering came apart on some of the connections. So ill just solder them back together  -
Getting a shorter needle would richen it even more would it not. Due to the needle being shorter, so there is even less slant in the main jet. I'm not sure what your jetting should be but guys will be able to help you out. And yes what is your mixture at? But remember just changing your mixture isn't going to change the jetting on your bike.

What the hell, I'll take the Banshee, Blaster and Raptor for my friends  [email protected] Thanks, Dinner

Happy B-Day, hope you have a good one

Mine used to do the same on my old stock carbs(i have newer stock ones). I didn't even worry about it, i would hold it out while i kicked it a couple of times and it would start up fine. Most all stock carbs get like this after awhile

pipe hitting against fuel (petcock)
Dinner replied to banshee freak's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yea the only pipes that did that for me was my old DG Pipes :: Never read or heard anything like that for FMF -
Did you leave your choke on? My bike was doing that the other day, wouldn't rev out properly, wouldn't idle. So i looked at the plugs, and they were wet as hell. So i thought maybe something had gone wrong with the carbs, because it was running great before that. Then i went to start it up and went to pull out the choke and would you look at that, it's already out. Got it started, put the choke back in and away she went :shoothead:

Question for you people with diesel in freezing temps
Dinner replied to Bansh-eman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Not really, it's just adding 2 stroke oil adds lubrication, prolonging the life of the VP44, etc. Some people get lucky and their VP44's last as long as the truck, others arn't so lucky. Sure Dodge sucked at designing their fuel system, i guess Ford sucked at designing the whole entire 6.0L engine :shoothead: -
Question for you people with diesel in freezing temps
Dinner replied to Bansh-eman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yea I'm in Canada. The reason they are going to the injectors is because the died diesel will well dye your injectors. So they will pull one of your injectors, and if that dye shows up, they will nail you. And it sucks because the died diesel will stay on the injectors for a good couple of years. Running 2 stroke oil in your Diesel will quiet them down and help provide lubrication. I'm not 100% sure about the guys with the Duramax's or the PSD, but with the 2nd gen Cummins, and even the new 3rd Gen Cummins guys will run it to help lube everything. And anyone that has owned a 2nd Gen 24 Valve Cummins will know all about the VP44 and how much lubrication helps it out. Because if your VP44(Injecter Pump) goes, well be prepared to bend over So every fill up guy will put a little amount in to give the fuel better lubrication for the VP44, Lift Pump, Fuel System, and will quiet down the injector knocking a bit. -
Question for you people with diesel in freezing temps
Dinner replied to Bansh-eman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yea you better be careful,up here guys have had over $7000 Fines due to running dyed diesel. And they are cracking down more and more on light duty diesels. And they do not just go to the filter's,they will dip your tank, and they are now going straight to the injectors!, so they will catch you. Up here at farm shows where there is like 1000 farmers truck's sitting there, and while everyone is walking around the MTO and POlice will go through the parking lot dipping the tanks, and then will fine you if died is found. Another thing to is if you are running 2 stroke oil in your diesel, make sure NOT to use the red 2 stroke oil. This will leave the red die colour on your injectors and they will assume you are running died diesel. So make sure to use brown or blue 2 stroke oil! Dinner
