  1. Here is a pic of one. That's what my banshee used to look like(the one in the middle) And the light will probably be like the one on the right
  2. Should probably take the carbs apart, clean them all up, and check what your jetting is. And what are you mixing your fuel at as well?
  3. You could cut off some of the lugs if you wanted for now for better traction on the other surfaces until you get newer tires..if you wanted
  4. Unless it's just some kind of oil they put on the motor to keep it shiney, etc on the floor
  5. Well I'll just have to get it now and try it out. I'll post some pics to see if it looks good once I get it on
  6. Help keep my VP44 lubricated(they are known for failing), and to help keep everything else lubricated(that runs along with the fuel). And it also keeps the engine a little quieter, I like to hear listen to my turbo whistle I've just been reading up on some new info about the Auto 6.7...Here you go Just wanted to share with the group that I was able to drive a 2007 5.9 2500 Mega Cab 4X4 and a 2007 6.7 2500 Mega Cab 4X4 today. They were both automatic with similar options. I am in the market for a 2500 or 3500 and am a big fan of the Mega cab. I wanted to drive them both to see if I could tell any difference and which one I would like more. I am 100% sure that if you were pulling most of the time the 6.7 would be a great combo, but I will say that not towing anything the 5.9 was much more responsive. I drove each one the same 9 mile route and had a chance to get on the freeway. The 6.7 was a much less responsive compared to the 5.9. I'm sure if you had a manual transmission this would be different but when I compared the two, the 5.9 had greater acceleration from many speeds. I believe this has a lot to do with the low rpms the 6.7 was shifting at. It was amazing that even when I had it floored you could barely hear the engine revving because it just kept shifting. (again I'm sure a manual would be different, but I want an auto) I also want to make a discloser that I currently have a 1500 Quad Cab Hemi and this is the first Diesel purchase I am going to make. I understand that acceleration is not something most people think of when they buy a diesel, but with as many people Bomb their trucks I just wanted to offer this to the group. This site has been a great resource for me over the last few days and has helped me narrow in on what I wanted. I've seen a lot of posts where people are in a similar situation to mine and not sure what to get. I would suggest trying to drive both at the same time. I'm sure if you were able to hook a trailer up to it that would be helpful too but I don't think the dealer would allow it. I have to say that I'm going with the 5.9. I think this is also a good engine and although I'm not crazy about the 4 speed auto, I won't be towing but 10-12 times a year and don't want a manual.
  7. I did not know that, learn something new everyday, lol. Yea the old fuel used to be like 550 parts per million of sulfur, it is now 15 PPM I know even now with #2 I will run 2 stroke oil, and Power Service
  8. To lazy to get one, figured with all these lights around here, might be able to use one  But I just found out my one friend has an old Tri-Z rear tail light. Would I be able to just use that?
  9. Yea the new trucks are being made to handle ULSD Fuel, talk about no lubrication
  10. Yea, another is dieseltruckresource.com..all about the Cummins. You can read up on all the 3 generations, performance, etc, etc. I'm registered on there so if you would like me to ask anything, let me know
  11. Oh non takin
  12. I didn't learn anything from that post, no offense to who posted it on here! Those guys were basically talking about how much horsepower the new Dodge's are suppose to have, and the two different trannies
  13. Hey, Just wondering what all I could use for a rear tail light? I was thinking about just using a marker light from around my place(we have a whole bunch of different lights for trailers, etc) so I was wondering if I could just use one of them? On my wiring harness there is a blue wire and black wire just hanging, so I'm guessing one is ground and the other is hot? Pic of one of those lights:(It would be either one of the orange or red ones on the corner of the bed) Thanks! Dinner
  14. Probably because he is trail riding, so he wants the low end without having it bog too much, etc.
  15. Oh I agree with you, there are many guys that have put the 3 new diesels on the dyno to see what numbers they actually put out, and not what people say they do stock.
  16. I never said they were the MOST POWERFUL engine. I just ment comparing the two V-config diesels, to the Straight 6, it is very hard to beat the towing power of a straight 6. A straight 6 will make great torque right off the line, the two v-configs have to get the flywheel spinning a lot faster before they start to make their high torque. And I never said they were the highest rated HP truck either, the Duramax is currently at 360HP.....on paper. And there is lag on those so called twin turbos on the new Ford, it's just a little quicker than the 6.0
  17. I live 20 minutes away from London, Ontario
  18. I live 20 minutes away from London, Ontario
  19. Yea I really don't think you will have to worry about the OLD stories of the Dodge trannies. You are getting a new 07/08 truck, and all 3 trucks are coming out with their new technology. But for me, I would go with the Cummins. Can't beat the towing power of the Cummins. And I have been a Cummins person myself
  20. They're talking about the trannies in the 2nd gen Dodge's(1998.5-2002) The 4 speed auto's have been known to have a few problems here and there. How are the new GM's, are they still having over heating problems?
  21. I say you go for a new Dodge  And besides, if something goes wrong in the tranny, just get it built up, put some chips on her and have some fun
  22. I feel perfectly fine in Dodge's. The 3rd gen's are a lot better than the 2nd, and I find my 2nd gen comfortable. No it doesn't have all the snazzy new features as the newer ones do. But then again I guess I don't need those  I'm just having a hard time understanding a few thing's about the new Super Duty(engine wise). They still only have put 10 bolts on the heads. Now the 6.0L had problems with the heads and or head gaskets(not saying all of them). And that was with a single turbo. Now the new 6.4L have a Sequential Turbo set up, having a max of 42PSI, and still only having 10 Bolts per head  Sure they have made them a little beefier, but still. And I'm sure these new trannies will outlast the previous ones on our 2nd gen's. I guess I'm just saying most of this because our 2nd Gen has only given us 1 problem, and that was the VP44(Fuel Injector Pump), and nothing else has gone wrong with it (Other than the normal maintenance) Just my .2 cents
  23. Yea the 1st and 2nd gen Dodge trucks are not known for their body, interior, but to me that doesn't really matter. If my body doesn't look good in a few years, or my interior doesn't look like a palace, I could care less. I would much rather have an engine that will out last most of the other engines out there. And for the trannies in the dodges, some people are lucky...others are not. Just my opinion I have read about guys that have test drove the new Dodge's and GM's finding that the new trannies in the Dodges have improved a huge amount, and shift smoother and better than the Allison
  24. Well that's crummy  There are quite a few people I know that have had good luck with them... Everyone was saying how much all the emissions stuff is going to affect things(all the little bugs, etc). So it will be nice to see what the trucks are like once they get all the bugs worked out, in all 3 makes.
  25. I'm not 100% sure to be honest. But from what I've been gathering, when you are in tow/haul mode. And you are coming down a hill, and you would like to slow down. Start to coast, click the (-) to go to the next lowest gear, then the exhaust brake will begin braking the engine. Now I could be wrong, because I have not been able to read much about the new exhaust brake on the Cummins. So hopefully you can find more info
