Read what bonbon posted....and try not to out smart dajogejr  , he is very knowledgeable in jetting and performance  As bonbon said.. High Altitude = Thin, Less Dense Air = Smaller Main Low Altitude = More, Think Dense Air = Larger Main

I could see if me and the guys could make it down..only 6 1/2 hour drive for us. The only thing is I bought my shee without ownership...all I had was receipt of sale..so that is probably a no-no with customs
-
Yea, if he says his jetting is close, but then it will bog down on hills, etc. I know mine bogged one time and I thought something was wrong, but it ended up being my fuel shut off...I would suggest taking apart your carbs, cleaning them high carb cleaner and an air gun..and checking your floats, make sure they are not sticking, and to make sure they are in spec.

What mods are all done to the bike? What do your plugs look like, are they old plugs? What is your elevation and jetting right now?
-
Maybe it is a no no, but I used hand files (I have a big set filled with all different types, sizes, shapes, roughness, etc) but anyways. I just used my hand files, took my sweet ass time so that whatever I do to one side, i can match it with the other, as well as match it with the other cylinder. The first day I took a little bit off, well actually just smoothed out the bridge and that was about it. The second time I had my cylinders apart.. I took away material..not much on the intake, transfer and exhaust ports but good enough to notice a power increase. Just make sure you have very steady hands if you use a dremel. Good Luck

I am confused..did you get a Cool/Noss head with 17cc domes, AND a Dune Port? plus all the other little things

Just for those that missed it,lol It starts up great now, same as it always had. I bought some new plugs for it tonight, got some new fuel through it, new fuel lines(getting old and cracked) and so now she starts right up. And yes shee runs like a raped ape..maybe have to do a little more fine jetting but no biggy

I can push it fast enough to hope on it and click it in 1st and start it up if need be. Shee is running like a bat out of hell right now, and I'm going out riding most of the day tomorrow, so I'll get new plugs and all that tonight. Thanks guys

Yea it sure is nice to hear and be out on it again. Now the neighbours can enjoy me riding as well  I don't believe that it is leaking air. But when i'm in town I will get some more carb cleaner (I am out right now) and see what shee does. Thanks Guys

The wiring for my thumb throttle is no longer there, and the choke tube was in place(always make sure it is when i put the carbs all back together) Thanks for you suggestions though, I know how easy it is to forget something like that. Sometimes it's just not turning the fuel on I have it up and running right now, just went out for a ride. I took the set of plugs that were in it, took some fine sand paper and sanded in-between where the spark is. Put them back in and went outside to bump start it. Just pushed it with my hands, ran and would hop on and click it in gear. After the 3rd time she fired up and now she is running again

Hey guys, Was out riding the other day, shee starts 2 kick with choke, and away I go warming it up, taking it out for a ride. I go down the road to a friends place (running like normal) and shut it off, shut the fuel off (just a habit). It sits there for probably an hour and a half before I left to come home. Turn the fuel on, choke, starts right up. Let it warm up a bit then I start heading out the yard. I notice it doesn't sound like it always does, but it just sounded like it was cold, had a little less power...so i was taking it easy until it warmed up. Get about 50ft from the laneway...lights start to die, engine starts to bog, and then shee quits. Try starting it again..and you can hear it sparking, like that ping sound, but nothing. Push her home and then left it in the shop for awhile due to work. Just got working on it today...took apart the carbs, cleaned them all up, put that all back together. Took the spark plugs out, they are a dark/chocolate brown(been in there for awhile) and so I figure it's just the spark plugs...so i put an old pair in(not as gummed up)..they have spark, just not that good...still doesnt start. Soooo....the plugs are wet, so its getting fuel...its getting spark, because i can hear it/see it. But I would think that even if the spark plugs had a tiny spark it would at least start would it not?? Sometimes it will backfire like a mother every time I kick it over(that was when i had my pipes off). And I dunno, stores are all closed due to it being Canada Day holiday. But anything you guys can think of let me know, I would like to have this ol girl up and running. I'm hoping that it's just the plugs.... Thanks, Dinner

The bottom one is either for a 4 stroke quad, or a 4 stroke bike..can't remember which

It almost sounds like you are running out of fuel, being as it is only on hills. I agree with the floats, go and check the entire carb as well, wont hurt.

Cutting out stock spark arrester

Very well put  -
Hopefully not cutting into the thread...but here are mine i just finished up the other afternoon. They used to be almost like batman i guess you could say. So then i cut the rest off, and yes I used a Utility Blade, NOT the knife..couldn't find it,lol Had to wear mechanics gloves so I wouldn't cut my hands more than i already have.
-
 That's one crappy jetted shee to go 43 knots
-
Ohh, every banshee is generally different, but usually around 70-75mph I believe.
-
Wow I have cases of that stuff around my place...Maybe I should try it out
-
Hmm maybe I will have to give this stuff a try

Well put, Fellas run extended swingers due to have all that HP that will throw the front end up like nothing if they did run stock swingers. So they put on extended ones so that the front end does not lift off the ground. Drag pipes connect at the cylinder and at the foot peg i believe.
-
Must be pretty beat up to have to run new cylinders. Or is there the chance of boring them out enough?? What happened to it?
-
 Hopefully he didn't rip the rubber or crack it...I doubt he wants any lean leaks after this...

Would the packing? whatever it is called, up right in the front of the stock silencer..almost looks like turbo fins i guess you could say. Would those keep the back pressure there, or do they flow too much? I'm just curious, I don't run stock pipes -
I'm pretty sure you would be able to do that..but im not 100% sure.

You live in Canada do you not? Yea I don't mind working on my carbs. True that everyone else is going to EFI so things are better on fuel, and it's easier for the rider. But to me, IMO i'd rather have a carb(s) where i know how they work and can find the exact problem, spending a few dollars here and there for parts. Cause if the EFI fails somehow, or you want to get things changed. You have to take it somewhere to get the computer flashed or fixed($$$$$)
